Description

Toys, in particular dolls, and processes for their manufacture The invention relates to toys, e.g. B. animal figures, but in particular Dolls. Such toys are already known from a wide variety of materials. Some of these substances, e.g. B. cell horn or porcelain, are specifically so heavy, that the doll parts are only possible as a hollow body. In part, this requires one #difficult to manufacture, on the other hand, the substances mentioned are also easily fragile and result in a smooth, shiny surface that is not natural. It is also common, the face and limbs of dolls with an outer shell made of fabric to achieve a more comfortable feel, similar to human skin. These fabrics, however, get dirty easily and are not very stable. Finally are also dolls and animal figures made of rubber, also known from sponge rubber. Feel this however, at the prevailing temperatures, they feel cold and not very pleasant. Even The rubber can become sticky as it ages, reducing this detrimental property still enlarged. Hollow rubber dolls and those made of sponge rubber, mi are also few dimensionally stable, while those made of solid rubber turn to weight and price hardly come into question because of.

The invention takes a n 'ew way by the toys, in particular dolls, are formed as a solid body made of cellular Polyvinylchiloridmas # sen. Another proposal, which relates to the production of such toys, is that the Polyvinylehlori clinassen with blowing agents, for which diazo compounds are preferably used, are expanded in closed molds. One of the distinguishing features of the toys obtained in this way is their natural, pleasant-to-feel surface. The novel use of this property of the expanded polyvinyl chloride fabrics has the result that these toys are very popular with children, so that they fulfill their purpose in a particularly good way. Their full body design makes them dimensionally stable and wear-resistant. Nevertheless, their weight is low, since specific weights of the cellular mass in the range of about 0.05 can easily be achieved. The surface is coherent (non-porous), does not show the tendency to pick up dirt and can be easily cleaned if necessary. The coloring options, even with different colors, are almost unlimited. When using different colors, the shape is painted in the desired places with appropriately colored parts of the polyvinyl chloride paste. A manufacturing advantage remains from the fact that when the mold is opened and during any subsequent puffiness, which may still be taking place, the molded article enlarges to about ten to ten times its volume. The cavity of the mold needs to be only 1/10 to 1/2 the size of the finished toy in terms of volume, so that light, handy steel molds result.
