Ausserdem sind die erfindungsgemässen Stützvorrichtungen ebenso wie die eingangs erwähnten Gelenkbandagen vorbeugend verwendbar bei distorsionsgefahrdenden Sportarten. Schliesslich können mit den erfindungsgemässen Stützvorrichtungen leichte bis mittelgradige Fuss- und Zehenheberparesen ausgeglichen werden, ohne dass hierfür die sonst üblichen Peronaeus-Schienen verwendet werden müssen.Support devices designed in this way can be used to treat chronic lateral ankle ligament insufficiency. Dabei ist zuerst der Verstärkungszug 5 wendelförmig zuerst um den unteren Teil und dann um den oberen Teil des Strumpfes 3 gelegt und auf diesen der Verstärkungszug 4 ebenfalls wendelförmig jedoch in entgegengesetzter Richtung aufgesetzt worden. Die beiden Verstärkungszüge 4 und 5 überkreuzen sich bei 13 und sind miteinander mittels eines Klettverschlusses 14 fixiert.
