Description
HolzbalkenWooden beams
The invention relates to a wooden beam (1) and a method for its manufacture. Round wood outer parts - slabs (2) and segments/half-timbers (3) from the small wood sector serve as starting products. The "wet" - half-timber-like starting products (2 & 3) are preferably profiled conically on 3 sides (Fig. II) and partially slit against stress-drying cracks (10). After drying, the multi-sided final profiling takes place (Fig. III), and the separation (11) into triangular-like individual elements (12), the reversals of which lead to a wooden beam with an external solid wood character and an internal hole, or the separation takes place during or after layer formation (Fig. XVI and Fig. XVII).
The procedure/method according to the invention is similar for using wedge-shaped round wood middle pieces (pig- (as they arise when sawing parallel to the grain).
A wide variety of hollow wooden beams are known from the state of the art. For example, the formation according to SE 115667, which has the serious disadvantage that it can only be used in its entirety; ie - individual parts from a round log are used to form a beam with a square cross-section; and the core areas of the trunk form the corners of the beam, which has a negative effect on the tree ring structure. With this method, the focus is only on pure yield. EP publication 0388507 has disclosed various combinations, but no solutions, which make practical feasibility possible with economical procedures on a broad basis. The methods described are unsuitable as far as cataloguing cm 3 or cm 4 (for deflection) and reduced b (for shear stresses) are concerned, as well as processing and cleaning the tree edge parts. Although the possibility of combining individual pieces from different round wood sections is mentioned, the wood beam shape and the procedure do not take into account the fact that the separation from the round wood section cannot lead to any definition/cataloguing, but that the usage pattern, which is important for many areas, can only be determined on the semi-wooden blank. EP 0388507 describes certain beam shapes in connection with combinations, but only with the aim of achieving beam shapes and not with the primary aim of using different raw wood shapes and combinations to achieve sensible beam cross-sections. GM 89095758 describes slab uses in which the profiling processes are to be carried out when the slab is separated - i.e. directly when the trunk is cut; a method that is not satisfactory in terms of yield (and low waste). Hollow wooden beams - in principle with the character of solid wood - and with an inner hole created by the tree curves/tree edge areas - are still known from a study by the CTB - Paris in 1976. The method described, however, only provides for the use of shorter round wood sections of poorer quality (with parallel joint surface profiling), whereby the 4 individual elements are formed from a round piece into a square beam, the length of which is also to be achieved in conjunction with boards.
The invention is based on the task of creating a wooden beam (1) and a method for its production, in which the theoretical/optimal yield - with the lowest possible waste - is almost achieved; in which the QUALITIES and definable/cataloguable shapes (cm 3 / cnn / red. b / cleaned tree edge -
anteile) im Vordergrund stehen; und bei welchem alle handelsüblichen Abmessungen, ohne direkte Abhängigkeiten an bestimmte Rohholzformen, FLEXIBEl zu fertigen sind.proportions) are in the foreground; and in which all standard dimensions can be produced FLEXIBLY, without direct dependence on specific raw wood shapes.
Hinsichtlich der AUSBEUTE wird die Erfindung dadurch gelöst, daß denen aus dem Sägewerksbereich kommenden Schwarten (2) und Halbhölzern (3) der Raster (4) zur konischen Fügeflächenprofilierung (Fig. II und Fig. XII) zugeordnet wird, derWith regard to the YIELD, the invention is solved by assigning the grid (4) for conical joining surface profiling (Fig. II and Fig. XII) to the slabs (2) and half-timbers (3) coming from the sawmill area, which
Durch diese Methode wird gleichzeitig der kleinstmöglichste Ausschuß garantiert.- due to the raw shapes (6) - the most optimal use of yield is achieved, while at the same time guaranteeing a sufficiently large and defined joining surface width (5). This method also guarantees the smallest possible waste.
Die Rundungsbereiche (6) aus dem Baumkantenanteil müssen In terms of QUALITY, the invention is solved by the fact that in principle no decisions are made on the use of dimensions (grid 4) for the round timber before the usual cutting processes. In the later decisions, the growth ring profiles (9) and joint surface widths (5) play an important role - due to the shear stresses for hole definition or for determining reduced) b (14). The "wet" starting products (Fig. II with the raw trunk roundings (6) are preferably pre-profiled on three surfaces before drying and preferably - to prevent drying/stress cracks - slit (10). The rounding areas (6) from the tree edge portion must
- for a variety of reasons - be free of bark/bast (Fig. HIa). In these areas, appropriate tools (Fig. IHa and Fig. XII) will take over the processing with reference to the areas (6a) formed by the joining surface widths (5).
Durch die Kombination von Einzelelementen (12) (dreieckähnliche Viertelstücke) aus unterschiedlichen Rundholzdurchmessern (6) lassen sich gewisse Durchmesserreihen (Fig. IV und V) zu nur einer Querschnittgröße (13) formieren; bevorzugte Querschnitte sind also nur noch bedingt/begrenzt von der Rohholzverfügbarkeit abhängig, dies steigert die AusbeuteWith regard to the feasibility (FLEXIBILITY) of all commercially available dimensions or those required on the market, the invention is solved by creating the necessary flexibility through the optional allocation of suitable grids (4) and the associated grades (sorting). After drying, the final profiling takes place (Fig. III) and - if it is formed/pressed in cassettes (Fig. XV) - the optional separation (11), depending on the possible combinations and the finished dimensions of the beam cross-sections (1). The processing according to Fig. IHa can also be included in this phase. By combining individual elements (12) (triangular quarter pieces) from different round wood diameters (6), certain diameter series (Fig. IV and V) can be formed into just one cross-section size (13); preferred cross-sections are therefore only conditionally/limitedly dependent on the availability of raw wood, which increases the yield.
enorm. The invention of the combination (Fig. IV and V) not only solves the dependencies regarding beam cross-sectional dimensions/raw wood availability positively, a combination (Fig. VII) is also usually necessary when hollow wooden beams have to be processed in the joinery area (Fig. VII), or in principle certain beam dimensions are advantageously composed of different individual element sizes (Fig. VIIa).
Diese Qualitätsforderung führte zu der erfindgungsgemäßen Lösung, den Schrägungswinkel bzw. die Steigung im Bereich aa größer anzusetzen als im Bereich ss (Fig. XII).The use of slabs (2) (roundwood outer parts) and semi-wood-like products (3) from the weakwood area when setting a middle piece (8) leads to a favorable annual ring structure in the corner area of the finished beam (1); no unpredictable structures arise from the core area. This quality requirement led to the inventive solution of setting the bevel angle or the gradient in area aa larger than in area ss (Fig. XII).
Zusammenfassend:In summary:
The invention offers high yield, best quality and flexibility in the processing/assignment of the individual elements (12) to the definable/cataloguable beam cross-sectional dimensions through the preferably conical processing (Fig. II) of the starting products (2 and 3) coming from the sawmill process in such a way that all dimensional decisions (grid 4, separations 11, and the joining surface widths 5 acting on cm 3 / CfTi^ and on the shear stress areas) are derived from the actual raw form (6) - and preferably determined by measurements (15). This method also has the advantage in terms of yield that fluctuations in the diameter of the tail or diameter and shape are included in the decisions as actual values (see different grids 4 in Fig. II).
A further object of the invention is achieved in that the wedge-shaped middle pieces (16) resulting from sawing parallel to the grain (Fig. VIII) are fed into a hollow beam production line (Fig. X); whereas the slabs (17) during sawing parallel to the grain (Fig. VIII) go through the phases according to Fig. II and Fig. III (etc.) to form the hollow beam, but can hardly be machined in a 3-surface conical manner due to the slab shapes resulting from sawing parallel to the grain. With longer starting products and larger differences D/d 0 (Fig. VIII), conical machining is only desirable in the Dl / dl range.
Sawing parallel to the grain (quality sawing) in all conceivable ways is in principle a well-known cutting method - especially in the field of log band saws - to achieve better sawn timber structures (qualities) and is in no way a new invention. However, the method (sawing parallel to the grain increases strength values, reduces cracking and improves drying behavior) is not consistently practiced because the use of wedge-shaped center pieces has not been offered up to now.
20). -_In order to use the various types of wedge-shaped middle pieces (16) created by the fiber-parallel cutting process (Fig. VIII) in accordance with the invention, further separations must be carried out. Fig. IX shows how - preferably - the middle piece (16) can be separated without a core, whereby starting products (18) are then created in a wedge shape on two sides; and lead to the hollow beam (Fig. X) via the individual elements (19). The diagonal cutting (Fig. XI) on the non-parallel middle pieces, as well as the partial processing of the resulting individual elements (20), can be carried out in various ways. 2 or 4 individual elements (20) can be produced from one middle piece/starting product. If it is separated by the edge/corner of two surfaces at right angles to each other (21), this part forms the outer surface of the hollow beam. If it is split at a right angle to a diagonal cut (22), the surfaces (23) running at right angles from the corner/edge (22) form the outer surface of the hollow beam. The machining of the joining surfaces in the corresponding gradients (24) is carried out on the individual element (19 or 20). -_
- - -Nothing is known about the state of the art regarding the separation of non-beam-edged goods (e.g. use of sawn goods) into individual parts - with the purpose of assembling them into a hollow beam - as regards the use of two- or multi-sided wedge-shaped starting products (such as those that arise when sawing parallel to the grain, for example). US Patent 4,394,409 = separations of rectangular shapes and Australian Patent No. 26740/88 = separations of square shapes are known. - - -
In diesem Zustand ("nass") wird erfindungsgemäß vorprofiliert über eine 3-flächig (konisch) bearbeitende MaschineWith regard to the method, the procedure according to the invention is already largely apparent from the methods described above. Preferably, the procedure according to the invention is such that in principle the starting products (2 and 3) are transferred from the sawmill department to the hollow wooden beam production department in a practically unsorted state. In this state ("wet"), pre-profiling is carried out according to the invention using a 3-surface (conical) processing machine.
Der Profiliervorgang (XII) - entweder 3-seitig oder 2-seitig im Winkel wird bei unsortierten Ausgangsprodukten (2 und 3) automatisch in Abhängigkeiten zur Vorschubbewegung abgefahren.(Sawing / cutting / chipping) - Fig. XII - and the same / or similar machine can also be used to finish profiling after drying. Profiling is carried out in a similar way, e.g. on quarter pieces / individual elements (19), whereby only 2 tool sections at right angles to each other carry out the diverging / converging adjustments adapted to the feed. The profiling process (XII) - either 3-sided or 2-sided at an angle - is carried out automatically in dependence on the feed movement for unsorted starting products (2 and 3).
Because the individual elements are by no means the same size - and the resulting row forces cannot be transferred (Fig. XIV), it is not/hardly possible to press/glue finished hollow wooden beams ("in one go") in a multi-layered/row-like manner. Preferably and according to the invention, when finished beams are to be produced in a press-glue process (especially with combinations of quarter pieces/individual elements of different sizes), a device (cassette) - Fig. XV is therefore used, in which the formed beam cross-sections are fixed/pressed by Fl / F2 / F3; and in which a large number of such pressing points (Fl / F2 / F3) are arranged. Such individual cassettes can be brought into a mechanized circulation (no figure here) in up to 20 or 40 units (cassette system).
Furthermore, it is possible according to the invention - provided that starting products of the same shape are used in their entirety - to glue 2 starting products (Fig. XVI) in series, in order to then separate the double halves (Hl) and to carry out the joining surface processing (Hl), and to press them together again in series (H2).
According to the invention, it is also provided that, provided the starting products are used in their entirety and stored accordingly, so-called carpets are glued together in layers and rows (Fig. XVII), in order to separate the finished hollow wooden beams from them—(FB). This method is particularly advantageous because it also allows 3-sided conical starting products to be glued/pressed together in layers and rows (assuming the correct pressure distribution is observed and glue contamination is avoided).
The hollow wooden beam created from the products and processes according to the invention can of course be provided with further elements; it can be profiled/structured, panels/headpieces are possible, layers can be made or extensions by finger joints or other connections (Fig. XIII), and beams can be produced for column and mast construction.
Im folgenden werden die Erfindungen anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen - in Verbindung mit den Zeichnungen - beschrieben:In the following, the inventions are described using exemplary embodiments - in conjunction with the drawings:
I - essentially shows the round wood sections from which the starting products (2 and 3) are cut in the sawing departments and the inner parts (7 and 8) are used in the conventional way. This cutting method (parallel to the center/core) corresponds to the (still) most common practice (opposite = cutting parallel to the fiber Fig. VIII).
Fig. II - shows front views of the starting products (2 and 3) used according to the invention to form the wooden beams and how these are formed into the grid (4) based on the ACTUAL SHAPES - preferably by measurements (15) - taking into account the criteria 5 (joining surface width), 6 (curves/raw shapes), 9 (growth ring patterns), 10 (slits to prevent cracking during the drying process), before drying.
Fig. III - shows front views of the dried starting products (2 and 3) and the marking of the finished processing according to the invention, as well as separations (11) to the individual elements (12), Fig. IHa, in which 5 and the part is marked (6a) in the area of which the tree edge of bast/bark is to be cleaned/processed.
IV - shows the inventive assembly/combination of different starting product sizes (12) to form bars (13) of the same size. The same applies to Fig. V.
Fig. VI - zeigt verschiedene, erfindungsgemäße Balken (1) mit Eintrag diverser Kennzeichnungen.Fig. VI - shows various bars (1) according to the invention with the entry of various markings.
Fig. VII - shows the front and side view of a beam (1) according to the invention with an advantageous formation of individual element sizes (12) for the case where bevels or notches are to be made in the joinery area.
Fig. VIIa - shows the front side of a beam according to the invention with the inventive combination of individual element sizes (12) for the case where the dimensions of the beam cross-section are advantageously not formed from starting products of the same size.
VIII - shows in front and side views the characteristic of "fiber-parallel" sawing, where the cut is made parallel to the surface, and consequently a wedge-like
A middle piece (16) is created, the shape of which is reworked according to the invention into a hollow wooden beam (Fig. X). The resulting slab (17) is generally not machined conically to form the beam according to the invention as a starting product, unless there are larger differences due to D 0/d 0 in the Dl/dl range.
IX - shows in front and side views the use according to the invention of a wedge-shaped middle piece (16), as it arises during sawing parallel to the grain, and which is advantageously divided again (without a core) parallel to the grain (18) and whose cross section is cut diagonally (19) and - as Fig. X shows in front view - leads to a hollow wooden beam. The marking 24 refers to the conical machining of the joining surface 5.
Fig. XI - shows symbolically how various wedge-shaped middle pieces resulting from sawing parallel to the fibers (Fig. VIII) are divided diagonally into 2 or 4 individual elements (20) according to the invention in order to reach the surfaces (23) forming the lateral surface of the hollow beam either via the corners/edges 21 or 22.
Fig. XII - shows in the upper front view again the principle of the usage grid (4) of a starting product (2 or 3) with the curves (6), whose tree edge area (6a) is to be cleaned/processed, and how a slot (25) is introduced - which is constantly fixed via a guide ruler (26) for the throughput accuracy and is to be placed where the separation (11) later takes place. In this example, the drying/relaxation slot (10) is also "in the middle". Finally, reference lines are drawn on the geometric shapes in the upper front view, the course of which forms the basis for the measurement (15) to find the usage grid (4).
The process according to the invention is shown in the schematically sketched top view below. In this, A means the starting product (2/3/20) that is fed by the feed V (distance measuring L-L1-L2) to the tool stations W controlled for diverging/converging processing. Slotting (25) with transition to a guide ruler (26) takes place in front of the processing stations W. Assigned are tree edge cleaning rollers PW (or cutting tools SW), as well as tool stations S (for drying and relaxation slot 10) and T (for separation 11). It is not mandatory to place the arrangements in the order described above; sawing/cutting/slicing can be used.
Die Seitenansicht der Schwarte zeigt den Zusammenhang der unterschiedlichen Steigungen (aa / ss) für den Fügeflächenbereich (5).The side view of the rind shows the relationship between the different gradients (aa / ss) for the joining surface area (5).
Fig. XIII - shows the most diverse variants in connection with the hollow wooden beam according to the invention, a = joining surfaces (5) profiled/structured, b = structures for wall element log house construction, c = structures for composites in general, d = panels/head pieces, e = attachments, f = layers, g = finger joints or other connections, h = beams for columns and i = assembly for masts.
Fig. XIV - shows a less feasible method for grouting hollow wooden beams, the differences / oversizes / undersizes (X) hinder form-fitting, uniform force/pressure transmission.
Fig. XV - zeigt eine von Einzeldimensionen vollkommen unabhängige erfindungsgemäße Art zur fertigen Formierung/Verpressung (Einzelelemente El + E2 = Fl, El + E3 = F2, E2/E3 + E4 = F3).Fig. XV - shows a method according to the invention for the finished forming/pressing that is completely independent of individual dimensions (individual elements El + E2 = Fl, El + E3 = F2, E2/E3 + E4 = F3).
XVI - shows a possibility according to the invention for serial pressing of 2 glued halves (H), as well as the double-halve processing (Hl), and the renewed serial pressing (H2).
XVII - shows a formation/gluing/pressing/separation according to the invention with : _ holistic use of the dried and processed starting products (2 and 3). In the sketches, E means the inputs of the starting products, to which a corresponding cut Et may be made before "carpet formation". After "carpet passage" the finished hollow wooden beam FBt is sawn off. The "carpet formation function" - as far as the compressive forces are concerned - is taken over by DfI / Df2 / Df3, and "rolling" force effects in DF4.
Fig. XVIII- shows assembly examples, according to which parallel or conical machined joining surfaces (27), or partially parallel and partially conical machined joining surfaces, lead via various formations to beams that are parallel on all sides - or two-sided or four-sided wedge-shaped beams.
