Stromsparschaltung für AlarmanlagenPower saving circuit for alarm systems
5The invention relates to a power-saving circuit for alarm systems with battery-operated motion detectors, in particular with IR sensors, where each motion detector has an RF transmitter and is wirelessly connected to the central system. 5
The alarm systems for room monitoring currently on the market usually consist of a central unit that triggers the alarm and one or more motion detectors distributed throughout the room, which are connected to the central unit with connecting cables or wirelessly and send an alarm signal to the central unit when movement is detected in the monitored room.
The invention concerns alarm systems in which the motion detectors are battery-operated so that they can be placed anywhere in the room to be monitored. These motion detectors are connected wirelessly to the central unit. For practical reasons, these motion detectors are designed without their own arming device, since it can be laborious for the user to arm or disarm each motion detector individually and there is also the risk that one or the other will be forgotten. For this reason, such alarm systems only have one central arming device.
The problem now is that the individual motion detectors, which are constantly ready for operation, constantly emit alarm signals during the time when no room monitoring is to take place but when there is more frequent public traffic in the detection area of the motion detectors.

The invention now aims to propose a power-saving circuit that reduces the energy consumption of the motion detectors during the time when the central alarm system is disarmed and there is more frequent public traffic in the monitored room.
To solve this problem, the invention uses the features set out in the characterizing part of claim 1.
The invention is based in general on the idea that a motion detector, which frequently detects movement when monitoring a room, only sends a signal to the central alarm system the first time or, if necessary, twice, but subsequent signals are suppressed if these signals occur within a predetermined time interval. In this way, as studies have shown, using a time lock of 20 seconds, within which alarm signals are suppressed, a considerable amount of battery energy is saved and a battery life of around one year can therefore be predicted for a motion detector.
The actual reduction in security in the event that the alarm system is activated and an unauthorized person enters the room is small. In any case, one or two alarm signals are given when the intruder's movement is first detected, and no further alarm is given unless the intruder is constantly moving in the area of the motion detector.
Further features of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.
Although the invention is described below using a discrete circuit, it is always possible within the meaning of the invention to have the function of the circuit carried out by a microprocessor.
Es zeigen:The invention will be explained in more detail below using an embodiment example with reference to the drawing. They show:

Sie geben die Zählwerte 2Fig. 1 shows a schematic of an IR sensor 1 which emits a pulse when it detects movement in the room to be monitored. This pulse is applied to the up/down counter input of an up/down counter 2, but it is also simultaneously fed to the trigger input of a monostable flip-flop 3. A frequency generator 5 is connected to the down count input of the up/down counter 2 via a connecting line 4, which emits a pulse to the down count input every 20 seconds. The time interval of 20 seconds is chosen based on statistical studies of the activation of motion detectors. The outputs of the up/down counter 2 are designated with 2a. They give the count values 2

Zur Erläuterung der Erfindung sei davon ausgegangen, daß die nicht dargestellteIn Fig. 2, the individual pulse trains are designated with the reference symbols of the components where these pulses are generated. To explain the invention, it is assumed that the not shown

Der Sender ist "scharf gestellt".central alarm system is disarmed, but the motion detector, namely in particular the IR sensor 1, is continuously in operation. As already explained at the beginning, the power-saving circuit according to the invention only has the desired effect if there is continuous movement in the monitoring area of the IR sensor 1. The pulse train 1 shows the activation signals that the IR sensor 1 emits. As can be seen, these are not uniform in time. First, the up/down counter 2 is at the value 0. The monostable flip-flop 3 emits a control signal to the HF transmitter 7. As can be seen from the pulse train 7, at the end of a 20 second period of the generator 5 in which an alarm signal has occurred at the transmitter 7, a second alarm signal is emitted. As can be seen from the pulse train 5, the generator 5 emits pulses at 20 second intervals. Starting after the second alarm signal from the IR sensor, counter 2 always counts up by one digit if the IR sensor is activated again within the next 20 seconds. If no such activation occurs, counter 2 counts down by one digit after the next 20 seconds. It can be seen from pulse diagram 2a that the counter initially counted up to its limit value 4 - which is chosen arbitrarily - and in between counted down by one step until it finally counts back to zero after no further movements were detected by the IR sensor. It can be seen from pulse sequence 3a that the transmitter can only emit alarm signals at times when the counter reading is zero. The transmitter is "armed".
From this diagram it can be seen that the motion detector transmitter did not send out any signals during a large number of activations of the IR sensor 1 and therefore energy could be saved accordingly.
Zurückkommend auf Fig. 1 wird deutlich, daß die Vorderflanken der Impulse des IR-Sensors das monostabile Flip-Flop setzen und damitReturning to Fig. 1, it becomes clear that the leading edges of the impulses of the IR sensor set the monostable flip-flop and thus

monostabilen Flip- Flops sperrt.

As soon as the counter reading 2 is not equal to zero, a signal is generated at the outputs 2a and thus at the output of the OR gate 6, which blocks the blocking input 3a of the monostable flip-flop. This means that the latter can no longer be set by a new pulse at its trigger input. The blocking is only released when the counter outputs 2a are at zero.
are counted back.
