BeschreibungDescription
Entwicklungseinrichtung für fotografische SchichtträgerDeveloping facility for photographic substrates
It is common practice in photographic development facilities to collect used developer and fixer bath concentrations and periodically dispose of them externally. For economic reasons, the fixer bath concentrations are desilvered, while the desilvered fixer bath liquid, the developer liquid and the wash water usually have to be disposed of as hazardous waste. This disposal has proven to be technically unsatisfactory, cumbersome and economically expensive. The lost solutions must also be replaced with regenerated products. Furthermore, the discharge values of the waste water often exceed the prescribed limit values according to the provisions of water law. Attempts have been made in large-scale development facilities to improve disposal by using additional ion exchangers to reduce silver concentrations.
The aim of the innovation is to dispose of waste water from photographic development processes in development facilities in an economically favorable and technically optimal manner and to make the main waste water constituents reusable.
Die Baueinheiten des Entsorgungssystems er-According to the innovation, it is intended that the baths for developer fluid, fixer fluid and wash water are permanently connected hydraulically to structural units (modules) for the reuse of the fluids and/or the disposal of the bath contents. The structural units of the disposal system consist of
Außer einer Standzeitverlängerung der Bäder erbringt die Rückgewinnung der Inhaltsstoffe der Bäder einen reduzierten Chemikalien- und Wasserbedarf.allow a combination with each other and with the development facility in accordance with requirements and the formation of a compact system. The components can be added to the development facility to form an overall concept or integrated with it through system linking. In addition to extending the service life of the baths, the recovery of the baths' ingredients results in a reduced need for chemicals and water.
In the design of the development device, it is provided that a structural unit (module) with an electrolysis cell and a filter arrangement for the continuous removal of silver or removal of entrained developer substances is connected to the bath for the fixing liquid via a circuit. A common buffer container is expediently provided for the electrolysis cell and the filter arrangement. The filter arrangement can be designed as desired, e.g. by an activated carbon filter. The structural unit (module) is designed for controlled, continuous silver recovery on site at the user with a high silver yield and brings about significant cost savings. Finally, the circuit enables the reduction of silver entrainment in the water bath and in the machine process as a result of a low silver concentration in the fixing bath. It corresponds to the invention that the structural unit (module) can be expanded to include further electrolysis cells that are hydraulically connected in series and electrically connected in parallel.
According to a further design of the development facility, it is intended that a structural unit (module) with a filter arrangement and an ion ejector is connected to the bath for the washing water via a circulation system.
Auch ist die Zuordnung einer externen Regeneriereinrichtung an dieser Baueinheit (Modul) vorgesehen.exchanger for desilvering the wash water and another structural unit (module) which has a storage tank with or without heat exchanger and a concentration storage tank, a pre-filter and an osmosis device. The latter can work according to the membrane process. In addition, an ion exchanger, which causes a further reduction in the silver content in the wash water, can be arranged between the storage tank and the osmosis device. The assignment of an external regeneration device to this structural unit (module) is also provided.
Finally, it is planned to dispose of used concentrates by means of anodic oxidation. The baths for developer fluid and fixer fluid as well as the retentate from the outlet of the osmosis device are hydraulically fed to another unit (module) which has a buffer and circulation tank as well as an electrolysis cell with associated filtering device and can be connected to the sewer system. The wastewater constituents are broken down by oxidation at the anode of the electrolysis cell, whereby the breakdown can be optimized by adding chemicals (acids/alkalis) or oxidizing agents. Preferably, the concentrates should be kept in the circulation area until the desired treatment effect is achieved. The detoxification of the liquid residues achieved allows them to be discharged into the sewer system without exceeding the water law limits.
Es zeigen:The examples shown in the drawing illustrate how the innovation can be implemented. They show:

In Fig. 1, 1 designates a photographic development device, which has an input area 2 for layer carriers, a wet area 3 with baths 10, 11, 12 (Fig. 2) for developer fluid, fixer fluid and washing water, and a downstream dryer 4. 5 designates a space for accommodating electronic control means. In the embodiment, the development device 1 is designed as a table-top device, which is set up on structural units 6, 7, 8, 9 (modules) integrated with the development device. The structural units (modules) 6 to 9 are used to remove toxic components from the waste water and to make chemicals and metals contained in the waste water reusable.
Außerdem istThe interaction of the wet area of the development device 1 with the structural units (modules) 6 to 9 is illustrated in Fig. 2. Fig. 2 shows that the fixing bath 11 is connected to the structural unit (module 6) via a circuit 13. In addition,
It can be seen that the washing bath 12 is connected to the structural unit (module) 7 via a further circuit 14 and further to the structural unit (module) 8 via a bridge 15. 16 designates an external regeneration module for the structural unit (module) 7, while 17 is a concentration tank attached to the structural unit (module) 8. The structural unit (module) 8 is connected to the structural unit (module) 9 via the concentration tank 17, to which the drains 19, 19' of the developer bath 10 and the fixer bath 11 are also connected via a pipe 18. The structural unit (module) 9 can be connected to the sewer system 20.
The structure of the assembly (module) 6 is shown in Fig. 3. The fixing bath 11 is connected via the pipe 13' to a buffer tank 22, which flows out to an electrolysis cell 23 via a pump 21. The electrolysis cell 23 is connected by a pipe 24 to a filter arrangement (activated carbon filter) 25, which is connected to the fixing bath 10 via a pipe 13''. Pipe orifices 26' are designated, while solenoid valves 27 and shut-off valves 28 open and close the passages in the pipes. It is thus possible to connect the electrolysis cell 23 to the fixing bath 10 via a solenoid valve 27, bypassing the filter arrangement 25. The fixing bath liquid is continuously kept at the lowest possible level by the circulation system in order to reduce the required amount of refresher solution. If necessary, the assembly 6 can be expanded by a further electrolysis cell 23 (not shown) and the fixing bath liquid can be fed via a bypass 29. A refresher solution can be supplied via an additional dosing pump (not shown).
The structural unit (module) 7 in Fig. 4 shows a water circuit. As a result of chemicals from the fixing bath 11 and impurities from the developer bath 10 being carried into the water bath 12, the washing water is contaminated. The overflow 21 of the water bath 12 is connected to a buffer tank 31 that can be influenced by a level switch 30, from which washing water is drawn off by a pump 32 with motor 32' to a filter cartridge 33 and then fed to ion exchangers 34 and 34'. Anion exchangers are provided as ion exchangers, whereby loaded ion exchangers are exchanged for regenerated ion exchangers and regenerated externally. 57 designates a pressure indicator, while 58 represents a metering pump (optional). The outlet of the ion exchangers 34, 34' is connected on the one hand to an external regeneration device (Fig. 2) and on the other hand to a storage tank 35 of the structural unit (module) 8 according to Fig. 5. From this, the washing water passes through a high-pressure pump 59 with motor 59* via a pre-filter to an osmosis device 37, which in the embodiment, e.g. works according to the membrane process. The osmosis device 37 is connected via a return line 38 to an intermediate container 39 or directly to the water bath 12. The concentrate from the osmosis device 37 can be returned to the storage tank 35 via a line 40. 17 designates a concentration storage tank connected to the storage tank 35 and 42 is an optional heat exchanger for cooling the water. The pre-filter 36 is necessary in particular for the "open circuit" operating mode, since the concentration may lead to precipitation of the ingredients.
The structural unit (module) 9 of Fig. 6 uses a buffer tank 43 which is connected via a pipe 45 to the outlet of the osmosis device 37, the outlet 19 of the developing bath 10 and the outlet 19' of the fixing bath 11 (Fig. 2). A circulation tank with a float switch 54 is designated by , to which an electrolysis cell 23 and a filter 47 are connected. The effluents from the developing and fixing baths 10, 11 and the retentate from the osmosis device 37 are collected in the buffer tank 43 with a float switch 54. The breakdown of the concentrates takes place in the environmental tank/electrolysis cell system. A pump 48 ensures circulation. The electrolysis itself is regulated by a pH and redox measurement at 55 and 56 and optimized by adding chemicals (acid/alkali or oxidizing agent) from chemical containers 51, 52 with a float switch 53. The gases (SO / NH) produced during treatment can be released via a pressure relief valve 49 and subsequently subjected to washing. The filter 47 in the circulation line 49' prevents silting of the electrolysis cell 23. The concentrates are expediently run in circulation mode until the treatment goal, i.e. minimizing the COD value, is achieved. This is determined by measuring the redox potential. The structural unit 9 (module) of Fig. 5 can be connected to a sewer system 20 via a valve 50 (illustrated in Fig. 2). By means of the construction unit 9 (module), detoxification takes place by splitting the waste water into organic substances through anodic oxidation.
