Kapazitive Sensoren, die nichtelektrische Größen wie Abstand, Füllhöhe, Feuchte. Neigung, Beschleunigung usw. in eine kapazitätsproportionale Meßgröße umwandeln, sind in eier Technik weit verbreite'. &tgr; weitere.. Capacitive sensors, which convert non-electrical quantities such as distance, level, humidity, inclination, acceleration, etc. into a measurement quantity proportional to the capacity, are widely used in technology. For further signal processing, it is necessary to convert the resulting changes in capacity into an electrical measurement signal. RC and LOO oscillators, floating-wave oscillators with and without quartz control are used. Particularly high-frequency oscillators have a high level of circuit complexity, which, in addition to high costs, requires a large amount of space despite the use of highly integrated components. This is a disadvantage because miniaturized capacitive measuring transducers leave little room for accommodating the capacitive evaluation circuit. Longer measurement signals with separate electronics are disadvantageous. If capacitive sensors are used with a lower outlay and space requirement, this is largely at the expense of the reliability and stability of the capacitive evaluation circuit. This causes errors in the capacitive sensors which are due to the error-free conversion of the capacitive signal into an electrical measurement variable. Disturbing temperature drifts are also frequently detected. It is advantageous if either a reference oscillator or a capacitive sensor can be used as a differential capacitor when generating the measurement signal. However, here a drag effect occurs when the frequencies are almost the same, which leads to measurement errors.
AufgabeTask
The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the object of creating a capacitive sensor with an electronic evaluation circuit which enables a stable and low-drift conversion of capacitive changes in the sensor into an electrical measurement signal with low component expenditure and thus little space requirement.
VorteileAdvantages
The invention ensures that the capacitance changes occurring in capacitive sensors are converted into a proportional, low-drift, stable electrical measurement signal. The cost of electronic components is low, so that the capacitive evaluation circuit can advantageously be attached directly to the capacitive sensor. At the same time, favorable options arise for interference-free transmission of measured values over long distances.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to B.

In Tig. 1, CM1 and CM2 show the measuring capacitances and CM2 the reference capacitance of the capacitive sensor, which together with the gates G1 and G2 of the 4-way NAND circuit IC1 with hysteresis-affected Schmitt trigger inputs 1,2,3,4 and the measuring charge resistors RM1 and RM2 form two relaxation oscillators, the outputs 5,6 of which are connected via the NAND gate G4 of the circuit IC1 and its output 7 to a frequency divider circuit IC2. The pulse frequency, divided by a factor of 2 n, switches on the one hand the enable input 2 of the relaxation oscillator with gate G1 and, via a negator G3, the enable input 3 of the relaxation oscillator with gate G2 and, on the other hand, the input 9 of a line driver circuit IC3, at whose output IO a period-modulated pulse signal proportional to the measuring capacitances is present. The circuit is connected to the ground connection GND and the supply voltage connection Uqq, which is additionally blocked via the capacitor 11.
In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, a low-pass filter consisting of the resistor 12 and the capacitors 13 and 14 is connected downstream of the connection 8, so that a direct voltage signal proportional to the measuring capacitance difference is present at the output of the capacitive sensor with electronic evaluation circuit.
In Fig. 3, a high-pass filter consisting of the capacitor 15 and the cable terminating resistor 16 is connected to the connection 8, whereby a differentiated signal of the period-modulated square-wave signal from point 8 is present at the output and the supply voltage Uqd of the evaluation circuit is transmitted via the two-wire line or the coaxial cable 20 in addition to the measurement signal.
When the capacitive sensor is designed with an electronic evaluation circuit as shown in Fig. 4, the supply voltage Uqd is additionally voltage-stabilized in a circuit IC8 directly near the circuit.
Die weitere Anordnung entspricht Fig. 3.The capacitive evaluation circuit in Fig. 5 shows four capacitive sensors CMI, CM2, CM3, Cfv'4 as an example, which together with the gates GI.1 to GI.~ of the 4-way NAND circuit IC 1 with hysteresis-affected Schmitt trigger inputs 1.1 to 1.4 form four relaxation oscillators, whose outputs 5.1 to 5.4 are connected via a NAND gate of IC4 and whose output 7.1 is connected to a counter circuit IC5, whose outputs 8.1 and 8.2 lead to the 1-of-4 DECODER IC6. The four outputs of the DECODER circuit IC6 are connected to the enable inputs of the relaxation oscillators 2.1 to 2.4. As in Fig. 3, a differentiating circuit consisting of the capacitor 15 and cable terminating resistor 16 is connected to the lowest value output 8.2 of the counter IC5. The further arrangement corresponds to Fig. 3.
The circuit in Fig. 6 shows the recovery of the rectangular pulses from the differentiated measuring signal of the sensor superimposed by the supply voltage.
The high-voltage element, consisting of the cable termination resistor 17 and the coupling capacitor 18, is connected via an analog voltage amplifier circuit IC6 to the mid-trigger circuit IC7, at the output of which the regenerated, period-modulated pulse signal is present. This signal is made available, similar to the shading in Fig. 2, via a low-pass filter consisting of the resistor 19 and capacitor 20, as a direct voltage signal from the sensor that is proportional to the measuring capacitance difference.
Fig. 7 shows the same electronic evaluation circuit of the capacitive sensor in Fig. 6, except that the period-modulated pulse signal is fed to a counter 22 for evaluation, which converts this measurement signal into numerically processable information.
With the circuits in Figures 1 to 5, capacitance differences in the femtofarad range occurring on capacitive sensors can be recorded safely and with time stability. The zero point drift is in the range of a few 10 ppm. The electronic evaluation circuit of the capacitive sensor also allows the generation of an output signal proportional to the measuring capacitance or the reciprocal of the measuring capacitance.
The component effort is low, so that the evaluation circuit can be installed directly in the vicinity of the capacitive sensor.
With the circuit according to Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, the signal transmission of the capacitive sensor is achieved reliably over a two-wire or coaxial cable of several 100m.
