Description

Decorative process for the production of moldings from fiber suspensions The subject of patent 880 542 is a process for the production of moldings from fiber suspensions by molding, dewatering, drying and curing, optionally in the presence of curable binders, according to which the curing and preferably also the drying of the moldings in a high-frequency field , optionally with simultaneous application of constant or increasing pressure. Carrying out curing and preferably also drying in this way offers the known processes for the production of moldings from fiber suspensions, in particular, the advantage that a much more uniform curing and drying can be achieved, that no layer formation and stresses occur in the cured moldings and that extremely short treatment times can be achieved. In a particularly expedient manner, the procedure is such that the treatment in the high-frequency field is carried out in two stages, in such a way that the high-frequency current is passed through in the first stage in the main plane of the shaped body and in the second stage with a reduced electrode spacing approximately perpendicular to the main plane of the shaped body . In the course of further work, it was found that the process according to the main patent leads to particularly advantageous results if drying and curing are carried out at least temporarily under reduced pressure. As a result, in the process of the main patent, the treatment time is shortened, the vapors formed are removed and the uniformity of the molded bodies produced thereafter is increased.

These advantages that can be achieved according to the invention are effective for the Production of specifically light moldings from advantageous, since the usual Hot-air and steam-drying processes remove up to about 80 per cent Moisture is slow and the curing of the binder is considerable Takes time. Even with dense, but thicker panels and complex ones Shaped bodies, is a shortening of the treatment times and a more economical one Utilization of the forms possible.
