Ein solches Übergangsstück eignet sich zwar bei geschlossener Stirnwand auch gut als Rohrend-Verschlußstück, der Nachteil dieser Lösung besteht jedoch darin, daß bei der häufigeren Verwendung dieses Übergangsstücks zur Verbindung zweier Rohre mit unterschiedlichen Außendurchmessern beim Auftrennen der Stirnwand mittels eines Messers leicht die empfindlichen Dichtungslippen beschädigt werden können.US-PS 3,654,965 also discloses a transition piece for pipes with different outside diameters, which has a closed end wall before the pipes are assembled, into which circular grooves are embossed, the diameter of which corresponds to the outside diameter of the pipes to be connected.
