Process for the production of magnetogram carriers. Magnetogram carriers
can be produced in such a way that one is on a carrier tape made of non-magnetizable
Substances, e.g. B. cellulose, acetyl cellulose, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene
or polyamides, a magnetizable layer made of a non-magnetic binder
and a magnetizable substance finely divided therein by pouring or brushing on
the mixture applies. When completing the tape it often happens that
that the two superimposed layers shrink to different degrees, so
that the finished tape has a transverse curvature on the side of the carrier layer (concave)
or on the side of the magnetizable layer (convex). This is particular
then the case when different for the carrier layer and the magnetizable layer
Binders were used. Convexly curved bands can be made similar to plan
Wind up lying well, concave arched tapes on the other hand? lead to crooked ones
Reels with protruding edges, so that the tapes in handling; on the edges
become damaged and tear. In many cases there is a winding of such tapes
not possible at all as the coils are falling apart. By heavier loading
the magnetizable layer with magnetizable powder can be used in some cases
compensate for the concave curvature of the ligaments
or even in the convex
Convict deformation. But this measure has len disadvantage that this in addition to the
Increasing the playback volume results in an even greater increase in background noise
occurs, so that a deterioration in the electromagnetic properties of the
Magnetogram carrier is the result.
It has now been found that tapes with good mechanical properties can be obtained
without affecting the electromagnetic properties when one
the mass to be poured or spread onto the carrier tape, apart from the magnetizable
Powder or other finely divided non-ferromagnetic substances, preferably
have the same particle size as the magnetizable powder. Therefor
are particularly suitable diamagnetic substances, such as the oxides of elements of the
second to fourth group of the periodic system, e.g. B. the oxides of zinc,
Cadmium, aluminum, titanium or silicon. Also finely divided carbonates and
Silicates can be used. The additives can be used in quantities without disadvantage
up to about 60% of the magnetizable portion can be added.
Leave the magnetogram carriers made with the help of such additives
rewind as often as required without errors. Contrary to expectations, the additions
the background noise compared to one without the additives, but otherwise the same
Well-manufactured magnetogram carriers are not increased, but actually decreased.
Example i An intimate mixture of 600 parts of an A, 5% solution of nitrocellulose
in acetone, aoo parts of a magnetizable iron oxide and 76 parts of titanium dioxide
of the same particle size as the iron oxide is in a thin layer on a
Acetyl cellulose tape poured on. The one after drying and cutting the tape
The film obtained can be reeled up without any problems, it has only a low level of interfering noise
on.
fehlerfrei aufspulen.
Instead of the 76 parts of titanium dioxide you can, for. B. also 100 parts zinc oxide powder
use. The magnetogram carrier obtained in this way has less noise than
a carrier produced in the same way, but without the addition of zinc oxide, and can be
Wind up without errors. Example z Instead of the magnetizable one used in example i
Iron oxide is used in the same amount of magnetizable iron oxide-nickel oxide,
this by precipitating an aqueous solution of ferric chloride (a mol) and nickel chloride
(i mol) with ammonia. This with this. produced tape also shows
good electromagnetic and mechanical properties.
