Die Erfindung stellt ein Sofa, einen Sessel od. dgl. dar, welches in ein Bett durch nur einen Handgriff umgewandelt werden kann, indem z. B. die Rückenpolsterung nach oben umgeklappt und durch Umklappen des Sitzes die unterhalb des Sitzes angeordnete zusammengeklappte Matratze herausgezogen und in waagerechte Lage gebracht wird, so daß in dieser Stellung das Sofa bzw. der Sessel als Bett benutzt werden kann. Hierbei werden besondere Feststellvorrichtungen bzw. sonstige Hilfsmittel völlig vermieden.
