The innovation relates to a fender made of rubber or rubber-like material with a longitudinal direction Recess and fasteners arranged therein.
Ships and port facilities are extensively equipped with fenders of the type mentioned above. The fenders are intended to prevent damage that can occur when ships dock and maneuver. With increasing ship size the fenders are also subject to additional requirements, which at the same time affect the load capacity large forces and large spring deflections extend. Fenders are therefore already provided for ships of large tonnage, which consist of individual rubber blocks and which are arranged next to or on top of each other so that they cover the entire bow and stern area of a ship. The size of the block fender means that this can only be produced individually in molds so that they do not meet the required tolerance limits exceed. These tolerances are due to fasteners. Is particularly disadvantageous with such large block fenders that the fasteners can only be properly attached with great effort.
The object of the invention is to provide fenders with large dimensions of the type mentioned, which enable a substantial simplification when attaching the fastening means and at the same time reduce manufacturing costs have as a consequence. This is to be achieved, at least in part, in that the fastening means can fulfill their full effectiveness even if only low requirements are placed on the tolerances will.

The solution to this problem is that the fender, seen in cross section, is designed as a U-profile open at the bottom and both support feet have grooves behind inwardly protruding ribs.
Such a fender initially has the advantage that it can be manufactured by injection molding, so that expensive manufacture in molds is no longer necessary. Furthermore, such a fender can be cut into suitable ends as required, so that an improved adaptation to the circumstances is also possible. This creates a very universal application. At the same time, the special design of the support feet means that the fastening is much easier, since the fenders, to put it simply, are hung on the fastening means concerned. The fastening means, rods or bolts can be better adapted to other requirements. The bolts or rods are drawn into the channels and at the same time held in this position by the inwardly protruding ribs. The width of the channel should be adapted to the fasteners. This leads to a precise definition of the position of the fender if these are to be arranged in groups next to one another and one behind the other. The ribs have a thickness and height adapted to the stress. It should be ensured that a sufficiently elastic deformation in the zone by the fastening means is possible without the ribs being able to be bent too far laterally. When dimensioning the channel width, rib pressure and rib height, it is advisable to assume a Shore hardness of around 65 . It is expedient to use a type of rubber that offers sufficient resistance to the stresses occurring in seawater.

The surface of the fender is designed to be wavy in the direction of the ribs. This execution avoids a large one Surface pressure and thus ensures a better Functionality.
The innovation is shown in four figures for example shown. Fig. 1 shows a cross section, the Fig. A perspective view of a fender made of polybutadiene styrene with a Shore hardness A of 70 °. Figs. 3 and 4 show the attachment from the side and inside Cut.
According to Fig. 1, the fender 1 has a wall thickness of approximately 100 mm in the central zone of the end face. The fender has a U-shaped cross-section and is open at the bottom. The feet 2 and 3 are supported on the wall of the ship and go into ribs 4, 5. Behind it are channels 6, 7 »in which round bars 8 and 9 are arranged. This can be seen from Fig. 3 zvl »By means of these round bars, which extend around the bow of the ship, the ship's end can be held firmly in its position. Groups of fenders can be provided at the same time, as can be seen in FIG. The width of the feet 2 and 3 is each approx. 100 mm. The ribs 4 and 5 are approximately the same height. The distance between the ribs is about half the width of the foot. The distance is sufficient if the rods 8 and 9 can be easily passed through. The channels 6 and 7 are set to the thickness of the round bars 7 and 8. Fig. 2 also shows that the surface of the fender is ribbed.
