Polvvinvlchlorid, Polvainiden o. dgl., herstellen.
Process for the production of magnetogram carriers. Magnetogram carriers
can be made of compact magnetic material such. B.
from thin steel ties or wires, or more advantageously by applying in
Finely distributed magnetizable materials, especially steel or binders
I? Iseno @ d powders, on tape-shaped carriers made of paper or plastics, such as cellulose derivatives,
Polvvinvlchlorid, Polvainiden o. The like. Manufacture. You can also use the magnetizable
incorporate powdery substance into thermoplastic carrier substances in the heat and
then process the mixture on foils or tapes.
Man
also z.
It has now been found that magnetogram carriers made of paper as
Carrier material can be produced particularly advantageously in such a way that the non-magnetizable
Substance from its chemical connection within the> still unformed paper pulp
can be formed and then the intimate mixture produced in this way of carrier substance and therein
finely distributed magnetizable material processed into paper tape or cardboard. Man
You can proceed in such a way that the paper pulp, which is suspended in water, is used
with an aqueous solution of the compound supplying the niagnetisable substance,
so z. B. a metal salt, well mixed and the mixture with substances, in particular
Alkalis, added, which separate the magnetizable substance from the compound.
At the moment of their excretion, the maglietizable particles are removed from the paper
added so that they are very evenly and very finely distributed in this.
the end
the paper pulp thus obtained and impregnated with the magnetizable substance can
one now with 'the usual aids of the paper industry paper webs or cardboard
Manufacture and these by rolling, smoothing, polishing and cutting into strips, discs
or process plates of any thickness and size required for magnetographic
Purposes are readily ready to use.
The quantity ratio between paper pulp and magnetizable material
one chooses according to the requirements that the. Magnetogram carrier has to meet. in the
in general, the amount of magnetizable material is between 15 and 6o% of the
Weight of the finished magnetogram carrier, but you can also add higher amounts
Select.
kommen in Frage.
The magnetite Fei 04 and
the magnetizable y-iron (III) oxide is suitable. But also other magnetizable ones
Oxides of the formula O = X-O-Z -O-Y = O, where X, Y and Z are identical to one another
or represent various bivalent and trivalent metals in this combination
have magnetic properties, such as. B. cobalt, nickel, chromium or aluminum,
come into question. For the production of an iron oxide with equally good magnetic
Properties it is advantageous to use solutions that contain both iron
included in the ferrous as well as in the ferric stage. The precipitation becomes appropriate
made in the warmth.
einfacher Weise miteinander verbunden. Beispiel i In i 5o Teile eines etwa 30!oigen
Since in the present process the magnetizable substance is currently
of the formation taken up by the carrier substance and extremely finely divided
Form is retained, the process has the great advantage that all operations
superfluous, which were used in previous processes, the magnetizable material
initially to produce for itself and for the special purpose of processing
Prepare magnetogram carriers, for example by grinding, air sifting and intensive
Processing with binders or by other measures in a finely divided
Bringing shape and finally by a casting process or on thermoplastic
Ways, e.g. B. by rolling and stretching, converted into the shape of a magnetogram carrier.
The new process thus enables the production of the magnetizable substance
and its processing together with the carrier material to form a magnetogram carrier
simply connected to each other. Example i In i 50 parts of about 30!
A solution of 3.24 parts of sublimed ferric chloride is stirred in pre-sized paper pulp
and 2.78 parts of crystallized ferrous sulfate, the mixture heated to about 50 °
and mixed it with 6 parts of 25% ammonia water. After a short stir, the
Paper pulp sucked off on a fine-mesh sieve, washed out, removed from the sieve,
squeezed out between filter paper and dried on a heated drum.
In this way a paper disc is obtained which contains about 30 to 320/0 iron oxide
and has good magnetic properties.
If a solution of 6.5 parts of sublimed ferric chloride and 5.6 parts of crystallized ferrous sulfate and then 12 parts of 25% strength ammonia water or 28.3 parts of 25% strength sodium hydroxide solution are added to the same amount of paper pulp, a paper disk with about 50% is obtained magnetizable iron oxide. Beispie12 1500 parts of a 3% strength paper pulp are mixed in a Hollander with a solution of 167 parts of crystallized ferrous sulfate in 1000 parts of water, heated to about 30 °, 100 parts of 25% strength ammonia water or 236 parts of 25% strength sodium hydroxide solution are then added 74 parts of 10% strength hydrogen peroxide solution. Instead of hydrogen peroxide, a solution of 20.5 parts of potassium nitrate in 100 parts of water can also be used. A black iron oxide precipitate forms, which is completely absorbed by the paper pulp. After adding technical paper aids, a paper web with a smooth surface of the desired thickness and length is produced from this paper pulp on a paper machine and the finished web is cut into strips of the desired width. As a result of the extremely fine and even distribution of the magnetic iron oxide, the tapes have good magnetoacoustic properties. EXAMPLE 3 A solution of 10 8 parts of ferric chloride hexahydrate, 28 parts of crystallized ferrous sulfate and 24 parts of crystallized cobalt chloride in 500 parts of water is mixed with 500 parts of about 30% paper pulp, heated to about 30 °, 112 parts of 25% ammonia water are added with stirring and processes the paper pulp on rollers into cardboard or paper of the desired thickness. The product is characterized by a very smooth surface and good magnetoacoustic properties.
