in ihrer Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Spannungskorrosion solche Chromnickelstahllegierungen,
die bis zu 0.2010 Kohlenstoff, 17 bis 2d.0/0 Chrom, 7 bis 20% Nickel und 2 bis d40%
Kupfer enthalten.
B. Molybdän, Wolfram, Titan, Vanadin, Tantal, Niob.
seien folgende genannt:
I. C = 0,080% 1I. C = 0.07 -i-
Si = 0,33% Si = o.28@io
@1In = o,620/0 Mn = o.>80/0
Cr = 18,6 0% Cr = 17.9 0l0
N i = 8,4 0/0 N I = 8.2 0/0
Cu = 2, i 0% Cu = 2,0 0, 70
:1I0 = 2,3 %
Stress Corrosion Resistant Articles It is known that austenitic iron chromium nickel alloys have good corrosion resistance to attack by acids and other liquids. It is also known that the corrosion resistance of these alloys can be improved by adding elements such as molybdenum, copper, tungsten, titanium, vanadium, zirconium, tantalum, niobium and other elements, some of these elements, such as. B. copper and molybdenum, is primarily added to achieve a higher surface resistance., While another part of the specified elements, such as. B. titanium, vanadium, zirconium, tantalum and niobium, is added to bind the carbon in order to prevent the occurrence of intercrystalline corrosion. However, it has been shown that almost all of the aforementioned steel alloys, regardless of whether they are resistant to surface corrosion or to surface corrosion and intergranular corrosion, succumb to a particular type of corrosion attack referred to here as stress corrosion. This particular type of corrosion is mainly observed when plastically deformed austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloys or objects manufactured from such alloys are exposed to a corrosive attack by acid or acidic salt solutions without removing the stress state caused by the plastic deformation by a heat treatment, and consists in the fact that the in the austenitic steel alloys or objects stressed intracrystalline. d.li. get cracks running across the crystal grains. without a substantial change in corrosion of the surface occurring. This stress corrosion occurs especially when it is attacked by heated (over 50 = C). weakly acidic or weakly salty solutions. Such stresses occur z. B. on pulp digesters, d.li. for containers. which have undergone plastic deformation during their production and are exposed to attack by sulphurous acid with a low level of chloride in the factory. They have also been observed in containers which, e.g. B. dyeing vats, are exposed to attack by a mixture of hydrochloric and sulfuric acid solution. By means of lengthy, extensive tests it was surprisingly found that stress corrosion does not occur if the objects in question are made of a steel alloy with up to 0, d. .% Copper produces. In terms of their resistance to stress corrosion, chromium-nickel steel alloys that contain up to 0.2010 carbon, 17 to 2d.0 / 0 chromium, 7 to 20% nickel and 2 to 40% copper behave best. The resistance to stress corrosion achieved by the specified copper additive is also present when the steels are alloy components such as e.g. B. molybdenum, tungsten, titanium, vanadium, tantalum, niobium. Zircon in amounts up to 60% or phosphorus. Contains arsenic, oxygen, nitrogen, cerium in amounts up to 10o, individually or mixed. Austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloys which, in addition to the above-mentioned copper additive, contain molybdenum as a further alloy component in amounts of 1.5 to 50 ° are of particular importance. Finally, in the case of the specified alloys, the nickel can be completely or partially replaced by less than d. or more than 60% manganese or be replaced by cobalt individually or mixed. The following are examples of alloys that can be used with particular advantage in accordance with the present invention: I. C = 0.080% 1I. C = 0.07 -i-
Si = 0.33% Si = o.28@io
@ 1In = o, 620/0 Mn = o.> 80/0
Cr = 18.6 0% Cr = 1 7.9 0l0
N i = 8.4 0/0 NI = 8.2 0/0
Cu = 2, i 0% Cu = 2.0 0.70
: 1I0 = 2.3%
You could dike on it. to prevent the occurrence of stress corrosion by subjecting the alloys or objects in question to a heat treatment which removes the stress state before attack by the acids or acidic salt solutions. Such a heat treatment is, however, often, especially when it comes to relatively large equipment, not at all feasible and also expensive. The alloys to be used according to the invention do not require such a heat treatment.
