Scatter transformer for arc welding The well-known scatter transformers
for welding purposes generally have such a characteristic that the
Open circuit voltage which is identical to the ignition voltage of the welding arc,
becomes smaller with decreasing welding current strength. This is caused by
the reduction in magnetic resistance made with the smaller currents
is noticeable even when the transformer is idling. The requirements
on the other hand, when viewed from the welder's point of view, the ignition voltage is accurate
opposite direction. Smaller currents require a higher ignition voltage
and vice versa. In order to take these requirements into account, it has already been proposed
been to make a switch fiii the smaller welding currents, the
is done in such a way that the total number of secondary windings increases, their distribution
however, it is the case that all or most of them work in a highly scattering manner.
This means that by increasing the number of turns an increase, at least
but the ignition voltage remains the same while increasing the
Scattering effect under load the currents become small. The disadvantage of this known
The arrangement is that a simple adjustment of a spreader core is not sufficient,
but that to enlarge the
Amperage one more switch
and thus also the necessary switch itself is required.
There is also still a transformer with a reactor for
electric arc welding has become known, the essentially three legs
has, one of which is the primary and secondary winding of the transformer
carries in a concentric arrangement, while the middle and third legs are unwound
are. The third leg is movably arranged and forms with the common one
Yoke of the three legs an air gap. This is where the choke coil is located.
This known arrangement does not use the known means for regulation
the scatter, but a current-related counter-voltage with an approximately constant
Secondary coil flux. This requires a great deal of active material,
d. H. of copper and iron. The choke coil is in terms of performance
equal to the power of the transformer.
The invention is based on the object of a leakage transformer
to create arc welding, in which despite increasing scatter and thus
with decreasing load current, an increase in the ignition voltage occurs without any
additional actuation of a switch is necessary, and in addition, the
Active material expenditure on one. Minimum size compared to known arrangements
is reduced.
For this purpose, arc welding is used in a scatter transformer
with one interspersed with a leakage flux. and in series with the secondary winding
switched auxiliary winding according to the invention two parallel, but at the same time
Unequally variable scatter paths are provided and in their magnetic resistance
the secondary winding or part of it with both scatter paths, the auxiliary winding
only chained to the more variable spreading path.
It is particularly advantageous if a two-legged transformer
provided with yokes that are unequally elongated beyond one core and are parallel
to the cores another, shiftable, U-shaped one used to regulate the scattering
Spreader core is arranged, one of which is a longer leg with the yoke extensions
and its other, shorter leg with the shorter yoke immediately forms an air gap
forms. With this arrangement, the core adjacent to the scatter core becomes the primary winding
of the transformer, while the secondary winding is wholly or partly both
the learning of the primary winding as well as the movable core. The proposed
The auxiliary winding is arranged coaxially to the primary winding outside of one yoke
and is in such a spatial relationship with the shorter leg of the scattering core,
that when regulating the scattering, the auxiliary winding from the shorter leg of the scattering core
either enforced or released. Further advantageous details are
described below.

Streuung, d. h. also
The scatter transformer is equipped with the two main cores i and 2.
Both the yoke 3 and the yoke d are extended beyond the core -2.
The U-shaped spreader core15 forms air gaps with the extensions of the yokes 3 and 4
5 and 6. The shorter end of the core 15 forms the air gap directly with the yoke 3
; . The primary winding of the transformer is labeled 8. The secondary winding
is subdivided, namely the part g comprises the core i, while the part io such
is designed that it has both the core 2 with the winding 8 and the spreader core
15 includes. To the primary winding 8 is outside the yoke 3, the auxiliary winding
i z arranged coaxially, when the scattering core 15 is moved in one of the direction of the arrows
1-2 opposite direction is penetrated by its shorter leg. the
The mode of operation of the new scatter transformer is as follows: Due to the special training
of the core 15, two scattering paths 13 and 14 connected in parallel are formed. the
Scatter paths are arranged so that when adjusting the core 15 in the direction of the
Arrow 12 or in the opposite direction the magnetic resistance of the one
changes faster than the other's. The magnetic path 13 changes faster
than path 1q., as clearly shown by the curves in Fig. 3. In the course of his
Resistance faster changing scatter path is the auxiliary winding i i, which is with

with a low magnetic resistance of the entire scattering path by preference
of the parallel path, which has lower resistance when idling, generates an additional voltage
will. The more the magnetic resistance of the scattering path is increased, the more so
This additional tension is lower, so that, as the diagram in Fig.4 clearly shows
shows, by the proposed transformer, the lower welding current one
higher ignition voltage is assigned.
