Description
Process for the production of reinforcement inserts from cord yarn endless cellulose hydrate threads for rubber articles for the production of reinforcement inserts Cord yarn made of cotton has hitherto been used primarily for rubber objects. Lately attempts have also been made to replace cotton with cellulose hydrate cord yarn, in particular those made from cellulose hydrate artificial silk that has been pretreated in various ways, to use, e.g. B. one has roughened twisted cellulose hydrate bundles, with treated with shrinking agents and then twisted together to make cord. Also has one desulphurized or non-desulphurized viscose silk treated with formaldehyde was considered to be particularly suitable for textile reinforcement material for rubber tires. After all, you have rayon with a Nilinder strength of 200g / 100 Den. and an elongation of at most 10% as a good starting material for cord yarns instead recommended for the Egyptian cotton used in the past. To have a good bond d. H. establish a good bond between the cord material and the rubber. Has one cotton and rayon cord with latex or a solution of rubber in volatile Solvents, especially with latex containing protein or rubber solutions containing protein impregnated. In such Impregnation of cotton and rayon cord with latex or other impregnation solutions it was common to keep the cord under tension to hold or stretch.
On the other hand, it was known to use cellulose hydrate filaments in the swollen State of stretching and such stretched threads without letting them shrink, to dry. When such threads are processed into fabrics and then through treatment are caused to shrink with water or aqueous solutions, so arise Crepe fabric. For the production of cord yarns, which are used as reinforcement in rubber articles serve, those in the cellulose hydrate state were stretched and those in the stretched state dried threads not yet used.
The invention relates to a method for producing reinforcing inserts made of cord yarn made of endless cellulose hydrate threads for rubber objects, that there is characterized in that the threads in a conventional manner following their decomposition to cellulose hydrate or the finished, afterwards. swollen Cellulose hydrate filaments are stretched and dried in the stretched state and that the cord yarns made from such threads both before and during their Impregnation with swelling liquids z. B. with rubber solutions or dispersions, are prevented from shrinking.
By stretching the cellulose hydrate structure and by keeping it stretched During drying, any shrinkage must be prevented before it is embedded in the rubber compound will. Any treatment of the stretched and dried cellulose hydrate structures with water or another swelling agent before embedding into the rubber mass must be made while stretching.
This is especially to be observed @ when the cellulose hydrate structures when preparing for embedding with a special soaking liquid, e.g. B. with a solution of a wetting agent or with rubber milk.
The cord yarns are either loosely parallel to one another in a known manner or embedded in rubber in the form of cord yarn fabrics. It is advantageous to use for the production of the cord yarns cellulose hydrate threads, which are already used during their production vigorously stretched in the swollen state and dried in the stretched state are. Also cellulose hydrate threads, which according to known methods only subsequently, z. B. before twisting, wetted with plasticizers or solvents, stretched and have been dried are useful.
Reinforcement inserts made of hydrate cellulose fibers, which are used both during their bad processing to cord yarns as well as after the production of the cord yarns, z. B. during the usual soaking with wetting or quenching liquids are held in the stretched state and thus prevented from shrinking, have a Significantly better flexibility and buckling resistance than reinforcement inserts made of the shrunk cellulose hydrate threads customary for textile processing.
Reinforcement inserts made from non-shrunk cord yarns according to of the invention are for the production of car tires oral conveyor belts 0. the like Cotton cord yarn used up to now is not only on par, but in some respects even superior.
A stretching of the filaments in the cellulose sexual state during their tllogenatzustand Production does not have the same bleaching effect in the process as stretching in the Cellulose hydrate state. not even if threads of the same strength suffer in cases result as the example described below shows.
Example Cellulose hydrate filaments spun from Viscose, which in the G.ellulosehydratzustand Between two rollers stretched by 5%, they become cord yarns in the usual way processed and these cord yarns embedded in the rubber tire as a reinforcement insert, that they neither when impregnated with an aqueous casein-hemoglobin solution and in the case of the dough with a rubber solution, or in the case of the covering with the rubber compound can even suffer longitudinal shrinkage.
The tires produced in this way have a significantly longer service life on as rubber tires in which cord yarns are made under the same working conditions Cellulose hydrate threads have been embedded, as they are commonly used for textile Processing in the trade and for embedding in rubber tires, conveyor belts and the like have been used so far.
This is the case even if the cellulose hydrate filaments are commercially available have the same strength and elongation values as those drawn in comparison Cellulose hydrate filaments which, according to the teaching of the invention, are in the cellulose hydrate state have been dried, and the Cordganie made from it in both cases, without allowing any shrinkage, pre-prepared and embedded in the rubber compound have been.
A comparison of car tires made in this way with inserts once from cord yarn made from cellulose hydrate threads stretched in the cellulose hydrate state and once from cord in the cellulose xanthogenate state stretched and then filaments decomposed into cellulose hydrate on the test stand shows the superiority the former clearly.
The drum of the test stand has three blow bars of 20 mm Height equipped.
The superiority of the reinforcement inserts according to the invention goes from the longer service life of the tires to the point of tissue breakage.
