Es ist bekannt, daß man \Ietallcarlion@-le
durch Einwirkung von Kohlenoxyd auf metal-
lische llasscn herstellen kann, die aus redu-
zierbaren lIctallverl)iiidunjcii durch Rcduk-
tion mittels Wasserstoff oder Kohle gewon-
nen sind. Im Falle des -Nickels, Kobalts,
Eisens oder Rutheniums erhält man reaktions-
fällige metallische Ausgan-sstofte ohne wei-
teres durch Reduktion bei niederer Tcmpcr:a-
tur, während es beim \Iolybdän, das durch
Reduktion von lIolvhdäntriox"#d mit Wasscr-
stoff erst bei etwa @6oo' ei,tsteht, eines Kup-
ferzusatzes bedarf, um einen aktiven Aus-
7anbsstoff für die Carbon-,-lliildung zu er-
zeugen:
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man \Iolvl)-
cläncarl)o.ivl, ohne da15 man auf einen Kupfer-
zusatz angewiesen ist, in einfacher Weise und
mit gnterAusbeutc gewinnen kann, wenn inan
beständige a- üdcr 3«-ertige
bindungcn. die an sich als Ausgangsstoffe für
die Carbom-lbildung nicht gut geeignet sind,
zunächst in unbeständige ;\folvlidänverbindun-
gcn gleicher Wertigkeitsstufe überfuhrt und.
diese bzw. die durch Zersetzung daraus ent-
stehenden Stoffe dann der Einwirkung von
l#Zohlenoxyd oder kohlenoxydhältigen Gasen,
zweckmäßig unter Drück und bei erhöhter
Tcmhcratur, aussetzt.

Vermutlich entstehen dabei Gemische von
metallischem \Iolybdän und @f@l@hd<invcr-
hindun-eii höherer @@%crtigkcitsstul-c, denn hei
der Behaliclliln-. mit Kohlenoxyd beobachtet
Inaii außer der Bildung von Molybdäncarbo-
rivl eine Anreicherung des negativen Bestand-
teils. z. l3. des Sauerstoffs, im Rückstand.
Die benötigten 2- oder 3wertigen Molvl)-
diinhalo-cnide werden zii-eclcm.äßig nach-tl@ni
Verfahren des Patents 703 895 hergestellt.
ach einem bekannten Verfahren zur I3er-
stc11ting von \Iemllcarbonylen behandelt man
die als Ausgangsstoff dienende 'Metallverbin-
clung ohne gesonderte, reduzierende Vorbc-
handlung uninittclbar mit Kohlenoxyd. Dem-
gegenüber bedient sich das vorliegende Ver-
fahren sozusagen einer gesonderten, reduzie-
renden `'orbehandlung neuartiger Form, die
zu Metallverbindungen niedriger Wcrtigkcits-
stufe führt und beispielsweise folgendem Weg
entspricht:

Während nämlich bisher 1lolylidäntrioxyd
finit «'asserstoft bei 6oo' behandelt und dann
nach Einverleibung eines Kupferzusatzes der
Carbonylbildung unterworfen wurde, stellt
man sich bei dem vorliegenden Verfahren aus
Molybdäntrioxyd zunächst ein 2- oder 3«verti-
,#es Molybdärlchlorid her, führt dieses in das
einfache 1Tolvbdänoxvd über Lind unterwirft
dieses auch ohne Kupferzusatz gut reagierende
Oxyd der Kohlenoxydeimvirkung.
Beispiele
i. loo Gewichtsteile Molybdändichlorid
werden mit einer konzentrierten Lösung von
9o Gewichtsteilen Kaliumhydroxyd erwärmt,
bis der Niederschlag durch die eingetretene
Umwandlung schwarz geworden ist. Der Nie-
derschlag wird abgetrennt, mit Wasser ge-
waschen und ohne besondere Trocknung mit
strömendem Kohlenoxyd von Zoo at bei' 20d
behandelt. Beim Abkühlen erhält man aus
dem GasstrOln 7 7 C,c%vichtstcile 1Iolybdä.n-
carbonyl. I's bleiben 28 Gewichtsteile --,#Iolyb-
dä noxyd von der Zusammensetzung 1To02,s
zurück. -
2. i oo C'#ci%,iclitsteilc rohes, nach Patent
03 895 hergestelltes llolybdändichlorid wer-
den mit IConzcntrlerter Kaliurncarbonatlösung
umgesetzt. Die -Masse erwärmt sich unter
Schwarzfärbung und wird dann fest. In stük-
kige Form gebracht, liefert sie bei der Be-
handlung finit Kohlenoxyd unter zoo at -bei
Zoo 4.5 Gewichtsteile llolybdäncarboilyl.
3. i oo Geiciclitstcilc eines Gemisches von,
lIol-,1hdändi- und -trichlorid werden mit einer
wässerig-en Lösung von zoo Gewichtsteilen kri-
stallisiertein Schwefelnatrium unter Luftaus=
