Process for the production of insulating compounds It is known, foam-like
Preparing insulating compounds in such a way that one aqueous solutions of the curable
Resins made from urea and / or thiourea or their derivatives and aldehydes
converted into foamy masses with the addition of foaming or foamy substances
and these at ordinary or elevated temperature by treating with acidic agents
hardens. The transfer into the foamy masses is carried out in this process
vigorous stirring or beating of the solution of the foam-forming substance or that with
resin solution added to him. The hardening is done by acids or such
splitting agents; it can also be obtained by treating with acidic gases, e.g. B. with sulfur dioxide,
be made.
Man arbeitet zweckmäßig so,
einbringt. It has now been found that such insulating compounds are useful
of the same starting materials in a particularly simple and advantageous manner
let, if one considers the solutions of the foam-forming substance on the one hand and the synthetic resin
on the other hand in separate vessels with a pressurized gas, e.g. B. compressed air,
foamed in a manner known per se and then each foamed the two for themselves
or dusted components combined with one another. One works expediently
that one foamed with compressed air, with an acidic hardener for the
Synthetic resin solution mixed solution of a foam-forming 1Tittels, z. B. an alkplated
Naphthalenesulfonic acid, the synthetic resin solution that is also foamed or atomized with compressed air
brings in.
Zeichnun- schematisch-dargestellt.
Apparatus particularly suitable for the process is attached
The drawing is not shown schematically. I and III are
the two vessels,
which contain the aqueous solution of the foaming agent or the synthetic resin solution.
The compressed air is admitted through the valve Ia, and that through the valve Ic as well
can enter the discharge pipe. In the pipe Ib a mixing spiral is arranged,
in which the foaming of the solution flowing in through the nozzle Id with the through
the valve Ic supplied compressed air takes place. The foam formed flows into it
made of corrugated sheet metal spray tube II, where it connects with the one from the vessel
III through the mixing tube Ha supplied mixture of Kunstliarzlösunz and air combined.

spezifischen Gewichte zeigen. Für Wärmeisolationszwecke eignen sich am besten Schäume
vom spezifischen Gewicht o.oi bis 0.02.The feed rate of the aqueous acidic solution is regulated
of the foaming agent, for example a 2o / o aqueous solution of butylated
Naphthalenesulfotic acid, by adjusting the valves Ia and the nozzle Id in such a way that
that in the unit of time z. B. 8 1 of the solution are foamed. To this foam
Allow riiän from the vessel III at the same time by appropriate regulation
of the nozzles and valves 2.5 liters of an approximately 3% aqueous solution of an acid

o, oo8 to o, oi. By otherwise regulating the proportions of foam solution
zti synthetic resin solution can be used to achieve insulating compounds. which after drying the most diverse
show specific weights. Foams are best for thermal insulation purposes
from specific weight o.oi to 0.02.
The new process delivers. based on the synthetic resin solution, a
considerably greater foam yield than the known: 1rl) eitst% iron. It offers
furthermore the advantage that l 'inside the vessels used for foaming
there is no premature hardening of the synthetic resin solution and the vessels and valves
therefore do not become unusable due to clogging.
zugibt. The foam produced by the process leaves the spray tube
depending on the flow rate and the applied pressure in the form of more
or less large flakes and can therefore easily be filled into complicated shapes
will. It is also possible to mold the foam through during injection
solid bodies such as wood wool, wire, natural or artificial fibrous materials
etc. to solidify. One can proceed in such a way that one takes up the foam
The serving mold is loosely filled with your solidifying material 'and the foam in this
injected or that the solidifying material during the spraying in proportions
admits.
Instead of compressed air, other pressurized gases can also be used
or liquids, which turn into gases when the pressure is released, for the production of the foam-like
Insulating material can be used.
