Control for two-stroke internal combustion engines The invention relates to a
Two-stroke internal combustion engine with cylinder chambers closed on both sides of the piston,
in one of which the fresh gas enters and through one in the subsequent piston stroke
provided in the piston - there is an overflow valve in the other cylinder space (working space)
is pushed over. In such machines, the overflow valve is in the piston
not necessarily controlled, but designed as a check valve, so that the
Timing of its opening and closing is not exactly fixed or not adjusted
can be. The inlet and outlet valves are controlled by linkages and cams.
It is true that valves have already been proposed in other internal combustion engines
controlled by a rod connected to the piston. In all known internal combustion engines
however, in this way it is not possible to control the valve opening and closing times during
of the operation of the machine to change either the performance of the machine
to change or the most favorable valve times and passage openings of the valves quickly
ascertain. In two-stroke internal combustion engines for determining the cheapest
Inlet and outlet times and the most favorable size of the inlet and outlet openings
Required attempts make frequent changes to the machine or numerous
Trial models are necessary and turn out to be very time-consuming and costly.
In
The purpose of the invention is to create a two-stroke internal combustion engine of the aforementioned type, in which the positive controls of all valves can be adjusted from the outside of the machine and the adjustment can also be made while the machine is in operation. This is achieved in that arranged in a respective cylinder cover on or be Ausstrümventile and the 'actuated by stops on the piston rod through the piston arranged überströniventile by a cylinder cover provided at the stop is reached. All the stops for the valves are adjustable from the outside. In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in longitudinal section.

The inlet channels6 coming from the carburetors5 open into the cylinder cover13 ulid are equipped with valves7 which are held in the closed position by springs8 and controlled by stops 9 with adjusting screws io from the piston rod ii, which is continuous. The passage points of the piston rod ii in the cylinder covers 2 and 3 are sealed by stuffing boxes 12 and 13. The outlet channels 14 open in the cylinder cover 2 and are equipped with valves 1 to 5, the entgegeln the influence of springs 16 by stops 17 with screws iS on the piston rod are controlled ii. In the piston ii there are one or more overflow valves ig, which are controlled against the influence of springs 2o by a stop 2i in the form of a set screw in the cylinder cover 3 and when they open the frying gas from the space under the piston 4 into the space the piston 4, which is equipped with a spark plug 22 as a pre-combustion chamber or working chamber. The piston rod ii is connected via a rod 23 to a crankshaft which is driven by the internal combustion engine. The piston rod ii can also be guided in a slide which absorbs the forces occurring transversely to its longitudinal direction.
The operation of the two-stroke internal combustion engine is as follows: During the upward movement of the Kolbens4 in the position shown in the drawing STEL i lun 'g erzeu' he first gt located in the space under a negative pressure. Towards the end of the upstroke of the KolbGns4, the inlet valves7 are opened by the stops with adjusting screws and the fresh gas is sucked into the space under the piston4. Close on the downward stroke of piston 4. First the inlet valves 7, and the fresh gas is compressed under the piston # n4. Towards the end of the downward stroke of the piston 4, the valve ig in the piston 4 is opened by the stop 2i, so that the compressed fresh gas can flow into the space above the piston 4. At the next upward stroke of the piston 4 the valve is closed 1 9 and the fresh gas above the piston compresses to be housed in a corresponding height position of the piston to the explosion. The piston 4 is thereby thrown down again, the outlet valves 1 5 being opened by the stops 17 with adjusting screws 18 in a corresponding height position of the piston 4 and the combustion gases being able to escape through the outlet channels 14. Towards the end of the downward stroke of the piston 4, the valve io is opened again by the stop 2 1, and the fresh gas previously compressed during the downward stroke under the piston 4 flows into the space above the piston 4, and again on the subsequent upward stroke of the piston 4 after the valve is closed to be compressed and exploded towards the end of the upward stroke. The previously described processes are then repeated. By adjusting the stops 9, 17, 21 or the adjusting screws attached to them, the times of opening and closing of the Velltile 7, 15, 19 can be shifted. There k 'so LEVERAGING with the motor and the control of the filling periods and blanking times and to be changed by the adjustable stroke of the inlet and outlet valves, the flow cross sections of the valves for the inlet and outlet. In doing so, e "; tizeliie valves can be shut down completely or the valves can be set differently. The engine is therefore particularly suitable as a test bench or test engine in order to determine the maximum power for a certain engine, oil:) e. But it can can also be used as a motor with variable power.Instead of one or two valves on the three parts described, several valves can also be arranged, some or individual ones of which can be shut down.
