Abstract
A method of manufacturing a helical antenna having a substrate (406), the method comprising providing a series of holes (2230) in the substrate (406) and positioning the substrate (406) to engage a support element (2310). The support element (2310) has a series of teeth (2312) adapted to mate with the holes and extending radially outward from an outer surface of the support element. The teeth are arranged so that on rotation of the support element (2310) about its major axis, the substrate (406) is wrapped around the support element (2310). In preferred embodiments, the teeth (2312) and holes (2230) are arranged such that prior to rotation of the support element (2310), at least one of the teeth (2312) mates with a corresponding at least one of the holes (2230) and upon rotation, at least one additional tooth (2312) mates with a corresponding at least one additional hole (2230). <IMAGE>
