Description
- Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf Sonnenschutzmittel, insbesondere auf diejenigen in Lotion- und Creme-Form.
- Sonnenschutzmittel werden gewöhnlich während Außenarbeit oder Freizeit zum Schutz von ungeschützter Haut gegen schmerzhaften Sonnenbrand verwendet. Viele wirksame Sonnenschutzpräparate sind kommerziell im Handel oder in der kosmetischen oder pharmazeutischen Literatur beschrieben. Allgemein sind Sonnenschutzpräparate in der Form von Cremes, Lotionen oder Ölen formuliert, enthaltend als das aktive Mittel eine Ultraviolett- Strahlung absorbierende chemische Verbindung. Das aktive Mittel funktioniert durch Blockieren des Durchgangs von Erythem-erzeugender Strahlung, dadurch ihr Eindringen in die Haut verhindernd.
- Die ideale Sonnenschutz-Formulierung sollte nicht-toxisch und nicht-reizend für das Hautgewebe und für eine geeignete Anwendung in einem gleichmäßigen kontinuierlichen Film fähig sein. Das Produkt sollte chemisch und physikalisch ausreichend stabil sein, um so eine geeignete Lagerzeit für die Lagerung vorzusehen. Es ist besonders erwünscht, daß die Zubereitung ihren Schutzeffekt über einen längeren Zeitraum nach dem Aufbringen beibehalten sollte. Daher muß das aktive Mittel, wenn auf der Haut vor handen, beständig sein gegen chemische oder Photodegradation, gegen Absorption durch die Haut und gegen Entfernung durch Perspiration, Hautöl oder Wasser. Aus ästhetischen Gründen sollte das Produkt im wesentlichen geruchlos (oder fähig sein, parfümiert zu werden) und nicht-färbend auf die Haut oder Kleidung sein.
- Sonnenschutzmittel in der Reihenfolge abnehmender Wirksamkeit können als entweder hoch-chromophore, monomere organische Verbindungen, anorganische Verbindungen und minimal-chromophore, polymere organische Feststoffe kategorisiert sein.
- Die US-Patentschrift 5 219 558 (Woodin, Jr. et al) und die US-Patentschrift 4 919 934 (Decker et al) offenbaren Lichtschutz- Zusammensetzungen, worin die aktiven Sonnenschutzmittel aus der Reihe der chromophoren, monomeren organischen Verbindung sind. Die Beispiele zeigen die im Handel üblichen Sonnenschutzmittel, wie Octylmethoxycinnamat (Parsol MCX), Benzophenon-3 (Oxybenzone) und Octyldimethyl-PABA:
- Chromophore, monomere organische Verbindungen sind bestimmten Problemen unterworfen. Diese Verbindungen müssen, wenn auf der Haut vorhanden, gegen Entfernung durch Schwitzen, Hautöle oder Wasser resistent sein. Formulierungen, welche diese Materialien enthalten, benötigen daher Additive, um die Substantivität sicherzustellen. Jedoch wird sogar mit den besten Additiven die Wasser-Abdichtung und die Abreib-Resistenz niemals vollständig bewerkstelligt. Ein anderes und vielleicht wichtigeres Problem ist dasjenige der Hautreizung. Siehe die US-Patentschriften 5 041 281 und 4 917 883, beide von Strobridge, welche Öl-in-Wasser-Emulsionssonnenschutzmittel, wasserabgedichtet mit beispielsweise Copolymeren von Ethylen und Vinylacetat, angeben. Die US-Patentschrift 5 208 011 offenbart lichtabsorbierende organische Sonnenschutzmittel in Kombination mit Polymeren, wie Polyethylen-Copolymere und Acryl- und Methacryl-Polymere. Einige Menschen sind gegen organische Moleküle mit chromophoren Gruppen ziemlich empfindlich. Es können sich nachteilige allergische Reaktionen ergeben. Daher würde es durchaus erwünscht sein, den Gehalt an solchen Verbindungen in irgendwelchen Sonnenschutzmit teln auf das Mindestmaß zu verringern. Der Gesamtersatz der chromophoren organischen Verbindungen ist, obwohl erwünscht, augenblicklich nicht für hohe SPF-Zusammensetzungen, die auch bestimmte Typen von Ästhetika benötigen, durchführbar.
- Anorganische Feststoffverbindungen, wie z. B. Titandioxid, wurden als Sonnenschutzmittel verwendet. Tatsächlich ist Titandioxid ziemlich populär durch Händler, welche diese als "natürliche Sonnenschutzmittel" bekanntmachen. Die US-Patentschrift 5 223 250 berichtet die Verwendung einer Dispersion von mikronisierten Teilchen von Zinkoxid, welche kosmetisch annehmbare physikalische Sonnenschutzmittel bilden, die auf der Haut wahrnehmbar transparent haften, jedoch fähig sind, eine wesentliche UV-Strahlung zu absorbieren. Transparente, mikronisierte plastische Kugeln, wie Acrylkugeln, sind als zusätzliche Sonnenschutz-Schilde verwendet. Das Problem mit anorganischen teilchenförmigen Verbindungen besteht darin, daß hohe SPF-Werte nur mit hohen Konzentrationen dieser Materialien erzielt werden können. Unglücklicherweise leidet die Ästhetik an solch hohen Konzentrationen. Klare Formeln werden opak. Hohe Beladungen neigen auch dazu, sichtbare weiße Filme auf der Haut zu bilden, was Verbraucher negativ empfinden.
- Polymere organische Makroteilchen sind eine Endkategorie von Materialien, welche in Sonnenschutz-Formulierungen Verwendung gefunden haben. Die US-Patentschrift 5 008 100 (Zecchino et al) gibt Öl-in-Wasser-Emulsionen an, enthaltend Polyethylen- Teilchen als ein koaktives Sonnenschutzmittel, zusammen mit den üblichen farbtragenden organischen Verbindungen. Ähnlich zu den anorganischen Materialien sind die polymeren Teilchen in ihrer Sonnenschutz-Wirksamkeit beschränkt. Hohe Mengen an solchen Materialien werden nachteilige Wirkungen auf die Formel-Ästhetik haben.
- Demgemäß ist es ein Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung, ein Sonnenschutzmittel vorzusehen, das den Sonnenschutzfaktor maximiert, jedoch den Gehalt an farbtragender, monomerer organischer Verbindung auf das kleinste Maß verringert.
- Ein anderer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht darin, ein Sonnenschutzmittel in der Form einer Öl-und-Wasser- Emulsion vorzusehen, die verbesserte Ästhetik aufweist, wenn auf die Haut aufgebracht.
- Noch ein anderer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht darin, ein Sonnenschutzmittel vorzusehen, das eine viel niedrigere menschliche Irritation aufweist, als Formeln von äquivalentem Sonnenschutzfaktor.
- Diese und andere Gegenstände der vorliegenden Erfindung werden leichter aus der Beschreibung und den Beispielen, welche folgen, ersichtlich.
- Ein Sonnenschutzmittel ist vorgesehen, welches enthält:
- (i) Von 0,01 bis 10% eines Ethylen-/Vinylacetat-Copolymeren;
- (ii) von 0,01 bis 10% von Teilchen eines Acrylpolymeren;
- (iii) von 0,1 bis 30% eines organischen Sonnenschutzmittels mit einer chromophoren Gruppe, aktiv innerhalb des ultravioletten Strahlungsbereichs von 290 bis 400 nm; und
- (iv) von 60 bis 99,5% eines pharmazeutisch annehmbaren Trägers.
- Nun wurde festgestellt, daß Ethylen-/Vinylacetat-Copolymeres und Teilchen eines Acrylpolymeren sich verbinden können, um eine signifikante Erhöhung in dem Sonnenschutzfaktor (SPF) an Zusammensetzungen mit einem chromophoren organischen Sonnenschutzmittel zu liefern. Obwohl Ethylen-/Vinylacetat-(EVA)-Copolymere früher in Sonnenschutzmitteln verwendet wurden, ist dieses Material bis jetzt als ein Verdicker inkorporiert worden. EVA-Copolymere wurden auch auf ihre Wasser-dichtmachenden Fähigkeiten hin empfohlen. Allein jetzt wurde entdeckt, daß das Copolymere einen signifikanten SPF-Verstärkungseffekt haben kann.
- EVA-Copolymere gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung sind aus Ethylen-Monomeren gebildet, d. h. CH&sub2;=CH&sub2;, und Vinylacetat-Monomeren, d. h. CH&sub3;COOCH=CH&sub2;. Die polymere Formel ist CH&sub3;(CH&sub2;)x(CH&sub2;CHOOCHCH&sub3;)y. Das bevorzugte Verhältnis von X : y ist im Bereich von 20 : 1 bis 4 : 1, und bevorzugter von 12 : 1 bis 6 : 1. Das durchschnittliche Molekulargewicht kann im Bereich von 2000 bis 2 000 000 liegen. Die Härte (dmn ASTMD-5) des EVA-Copolymeren ist bevorzugterweise zwischen 4 und 80, besonders bevorzugt 9,5. Der Tropfpunkt (ASTMD 3954) ist bevorzugterweise zwischen 60º und 103ºC, besonders bevorzugt 95ºC. Bevorzugterweise ist das EVA-Copolymere zu der Zusammensetzung in Teilchenform zugesetzt, mit einer durchschnittlichen Teilchengröße klein genug, um leicht in der Emulsionsölphase dispergiert zu sein.
- Gehalte des EVA-Copolymeren, geeignet für die Zusammensetzungen dieser Erfindung, liegen im Bereich zwischen 0,5 und 10%. Bevorzugter beträgt die Menge zwischen 0,1 und 2%, optimalerweise zwischen 0,2 und 0,5 Gew.-%.
- EVA-Copolymere sind kommerziell von der Allied Signal Corporation erhältlich, am bevorzugtesten unter der Bezeichnung AC-400. Andere brauchbare EVA-Copolymere von Allied Signal sind unter den Bezeichnungen AC-400A, AC-405, AC-4055, RC-405T und ACT-430 und von DuPont Chemical unter der Bezeichnung Elvox 40P, zu finden.
- Ein zweites kritisches Element der Zusammensetzungen gemäß der Erfindung ist das eines Acrylpolymeren. Insbesondere wird das Polymere ein Homopolymeres sein, abgeleitet von Monomeren, einschließend Ethylacrylat, Methylacrylat, Ethylmethacrylat, Methylmethacrylat, Butylacrylat und Butylmethacrylat. Am meisten bevorzugt ist Poly(methylmethacrylat), kommerziell verfügbar als Mikroperlen, bezeichnet als Covabead PMMA von Wackherr S. A., Frankreich. Teilchenförmige Größen des Acrylpolymeren werden im Bereich von 0,001 bis weniger als 5 Mikron, bevorzugterweise zwischen 0,01 und 3 Mikron, optimalerweise zwischen 0,1 und 1 Mikron durchschnittlicher Teilchengröße liegen.
- Die Mengen des Acrylmonomeren werden im Bereich von 0,01 bis 10%, bevorzugterweise von 0,1 bis 5%, optimalerweise zwischen 0,8 und 1,5 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Ein drittes wesentliches Element der Zusammensetzungen ge mäß der vorliegenden Erfindung ist das eines organischen Sonnenschutzmittels mit zumindest einer chromophoren Gruppe, absorbierend innerhalb des Ultraviolettbereiches irgendwo von 280 bis 400 nm. Chromophore organische Sonnenschutzmittel können in die folgenden Kategorien (mit spezifischen Beispielen) unterteilt sein, einschließend: p-Aminobenzoesäure, ihre Salze und ihre Derivate (Ethyl-, Isobutyl-, Glycerinester; p-Dimethylaminobenzoesäure); Anthranilate (d. h. o-Aminobenzoate; Methyl-, Menthyl-, Phenyl-, Benzyl-, Phenylethyl-, Linalyl-, Terpinyl- und Cyclohexenylester); Salicylate (Octyl-, Amyl-, Phenyl-, Benzyl-, Menthyl-, Glyceryl- und Dipropylenglykolester); Zimtsäure-Derivate (Menthyl- und Benzylester, α-Phenylcinnamonitril; Butylcinnamoylpyruvat); Dihydroxyzimtsäure-Derivate (Umbelliferon, Methylumbelliferon, Methylacetoumbelliferon); Trihydroxyzimtsäure-Derivate (Esculetin, Methylesculetin, Daphnetin, und die Glucoside, Esculin und Daphnin); Kohlenwasserstoffe (Diphenylbutadien, Stilben); Dibenzalaceton und Benzalacetophenon; Naphtholsulfonate (Natriumsalze von 2-Naphthol-3,6-disulfon- und von 2-Naphthol-6,8-disulfonsäuren); Dihydroxynaphthoesäure und ihre Salze; o- und p-Hydroxybiphenyldisulfonate; Cumann-Derivate (7-Hydroxy-, 7-Methyl-, 3-Phenyl-); Diazole (2-Acetyl-3-bromindazol, Phenylbenzoxazol, Methylnaphthoxazol, verschiedene Arylbenzothiazole); Chininsalze (Bisulfat, Sulfat, Chlorid, Oleat und Tannat); Chinolin-Derivate (8-Hydroxychinolin-Salze, 2-Phenylchinolin); Hydroxy- oder Methoxy-substituierte Benzophenone; Harn- und Viloursäuren; Gerbsäure und ihre Derivate (z. B. Hexaethylether); (Butylcarbityl)-(6-propylpiperonyl)-ether; Hydrochinon; Benzophenone (Oxybenzon, Sulisobenzon, Dioxybenzon, Benzoresorcin, 2,2',4,4'-Tetrahydroxybenzophenon, 2,2'-Dihydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxybenzophenon, Octabenzon; 4-Isopropyldibenzoylmethan; Butylmethoxydibenzoylmethan; Etocrylen; und 4-Isopropyldibenzoylmethan.
- Besonders brauchbar sind: 2-Ethylhexyl-p-methoxycinnamat, 4,4'-tert.-Butylmethoxydibenzoylmethan, 2-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenon, Octyldimethyl-p-aminobenzoesäure, Digalloyltrioleat, 2,2-Dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenon, Ethyl-4-[bis(hydroxypro pyl)]-aminobenzoat, 2-Ethylhexyl-2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylat, 2-Ethylhexylsalicylat, Glyceryl-p-aminobenzoat, 3,3,5-Trimethylcyclohexylsalicylat, Methylanthranilat, p-Dimethylaminobenzoesäure oder -aminobenzoat, 2-Ethylhexyl-p-dimethylaminobenzoat, 2-Phenylbenzimidazol-5-sulfonsäure, 2-(p-Dimethylaminophenyl)-5- sulfoniobenzoxazonsäure und Mischungen derselben.
- Die Mengen der vorerwähnten Sonnenschutzmittel werden im allgemeinen im Bereich von 0,1 bis 30%, bevorzugterweise von 2 bis 20%, optimalerweise von 4 bis 10 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung können entweder wässerig oder wasserfrei sein. Bevorzugterweise sind die Zusammensetzungen wässerig, insbesondere Wasser-und-Öl-Emulsionen der W/O- oder der O/W-Reihe. Wasser wird, wenn vorhanden, in Mengen vorliegen, die im Bereich von 5 bis 90%, bevorzugterweise von 35 bis 65%, optimalerweise zwischen 40 und 50 Gew.-%, liegen können.
- Außer Wasser können auch relativ flüchtige Lösungsmittel in den Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung inkorporiert sein. Besonders bevorzugt sind einwertige C&sub1;&submin;&sub3;-Alkanole. Diese schließen Ethylalkohol, Methylalkohol und Isopropylalkohol ein. Die Menge an einwertigem Alkanol kann im Bereich von 5 bis 50%, bevorzugterweise von 15 bis 40%, optimalerweise zwischen 25 bis 35 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Aufweichende Materialien in der Form von Siliconölen und synthetischen Estern können in die Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung inkorporiert sein. Die Mengen der Erweichungsmittel können irgendwo im Bereich von 0,1 bis 30%, bevorzugterweise zwischen 1 und 20 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Siliconöle können in die flüchtige und nicht-flüchtige Reihe eingeteilt sein. Der Ausdruck "flüchtig", wie er hierin verwendet wird, bezieht sich auf diejenigen Materialien, welche einen meßbaren Dampfdruck bei Umgebungstemperatur haben. Flüchtige Siliconöle sind bevorzugterweise aus zyklischen oder linearen Polydimethylsiloxanen ausgewählt, enthaltend von 3 bis 9, bevorzugterweise von 4 bis 5, Silicium-Atome.
- Lineare flüchtige Silicium-Materialien haben im allgemei nen Viskositäten von weniger als etwa 5 Centistoke bei 25ºC, während zyklische Materialien typischerweise Viskositäten von weniger als etwa 10 Centistoke aufweisen.
- Nicht-flüchtige Silicon-Öle, brauchbar als ein Erweichungsmaterial, schließen Polyalkylsiloxane, Polyalkylarylsiloxane und Polyethersiloxan-Copolymere ein. Die hierin brauchbaren, hauptsächlich nichtflüchtigen Polyalkylsiloxane schließen beispielsweise Polydimethylsiloxane mit Viskositäten von 5 bis 100 000 Centistoke bei 25ºC ein. Unter den bevorzugten nichtflüchtigen Erweichungsmitteln, brauchbar in den vorliegenden Zusammensetzungen, sind die Polydimethylsiloxane mit Viskositäten von 10 bis 400 Centistoke bei 25ºC.
- Unter den Ester-Erweichungsmitteln sind:
- (1) Alkenyl- oder Alkylester von Fettsäuren mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen. Beispiele derselben schließen Isononylisonanonoat, Oleylmyristat, Oleylstearat und Oleyloleat ein.
- (2) Ether-Ester, wie Fettsäureester von ethoxylierten Fettalkoholen.
- (3) Mehrwertige Alkoholester. Ethylenglykolmono- und -difettsäureester, Diethylenglykolmono- und -di-fettsäureester, Polyethylenglykol-(200-6000)-mono- und -di-fettsäureester, Propylenglykolmono- und -di-fettsäureester, Polypropylenglykol-2000-monooleat, Polypropylenglykol-2000-monostearat, ethoxyliertes PropylenglykoJsnonostearat, Glyceryl-mono- und -di-fettsäureester, Polyglycerin-polyfettsäureester, ethoxyliertes Glycerylmonostearat, 1,3-Butylenglykolmonostearat, 1,3-Butylenglykoldistearat, Polyoxyethylenpolyol-Fettsäureester, Sorbitanfettsäureester, und Polyoxyethylensorbitan- Fettsäureester sind zufriedenstellende mehrwertige Alkoholester.
- (4) Wachs-Ester, wie Bienenwachs, Walrat, Myristylmyristat, Stearylstearat.
- (5) Sterin-Ester von welchen Cholesterin-Fettsäureester Beispiele sind.
- Die am meisten bevorzugten Ester sind Octyldodecylneopentanoat (Verfügbar als Elefac I-205®) und Isononylisononanoat.
- Fettsäuren mit von 10 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen können ebenfalls in den Zusammensetzungen der Erfindung eingeschlossen sein. Erläuternd für diese Kategorie sind Pelargon-, Laurin-, Myristin-, Palmitin-, Stearin-, Isostearin-, Hydroxystearin-, Olein-, Linolein-, Ricinolein-, Arachidin-, Behen- und Erucasäuren.
- Feuchthaltemittel des mehrwertigen Alkohol-Typs können ebenfalls in den Zusammensetzungen dieser Erfindung eingeschlossen sein. Das Feuchthaltemittel unterstützt die Erhöhung der Wirksamkeit der Erweichungsmittel, reduziert die Abblätterung, stimuliert die Entfernung der angehäuften Schuppe und verbessert das Hautgefühl. Typische mehrwertige Alkohole schließen Glycerin, Polyalkylenglykole und bevorzugter Alkylenpolyole und deren Derivate ein, schließend Propylenglykol, Dipropylenglykol, Polypropylenglykol, Polyethylenglykol und Derivate derselben, Sorbit, Hydroxypropylsorbit, Hexylenglykol, 1,3-Butylenglykol, 1,2,6-Hexantriol, ethoxyliertes Glycerin, propoxyliertes Glycerin und Mischungen derselben. Für die besten Ergebnisse ist das Feuchthaltemittel bevorzugterweise Propylenglykol. Die Menge des Feuchthaltemittels kann irgendwo im Bereich von 0,5 bis 30%, bevorzugterweise zwischen 1 und 15 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung, liegen.
- Verdicker/Viskositätsmittel in Mengen von 0,01 bis 5 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung können ebenfalls enthalten sein. Wie dem Fachmann auf diesem Gebiet bekannt, kann die genaue Menge der Verdicker in Abhängigkeit von der Konsistenz und der Dicke der Zusammensetzung, welche gewünscht wird, variieren. Beispielhafte Verdicker sind Xanthan-Gummi, Natriumcarboxymethylcellulose, Hydroxyalkyl- und Alkylcellulosen (insbesondere Hydroxypropylcellulose) und vernetzte Acrylsäure-Polymere, wie diejenigen, welche unter der Carbopol-Handelsmarke von B. F. Goodrich verkauft werden.
- Zusammengefaßt sind das Wasser, die Lösungsmittel, die Silicone, die Ester, die Fettsäuren, die Feuchthaltemittel und/ oder die Verdicker als pharmazeutisch einwandfreie Träger für das Sonnenschutzmittel der Erfindung betrachtet. Die Gesamtmenge des Trägers wird im Bereich von 1 bis 99%, bevorzugterweise von 80 bis 99 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Kosmetische Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung können in irgendeiner Form sein. Diese Formen können Lotionen, Cremes, Stäbe, Aufwalz-Formulierungen, Schäume, Aerosol-Sprays und Watte-angewandte Formulierungen einschließen.
- Tenside können ebenfalls in kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung vorhanden sein. Die Gesamtkonzentration des Tensids wird im Bereich von 0,1 bis 40%, bevorzugterweise von 1 bis 20%, optimalerweise von etwa 1 bis 5 Gew.-% der Gesamtzusammensetzung, liegen. Das Tensid kann aus der Gruppe bestehend aus anionischen, nichtionischen, kationischen und amphoteren aktiven Verbindungen ausgewählt sein. Besonders bevorzugte nichtionische Tenside sind diejenigen mit einem C&sub1;&sub0;&submin;&sub2;&sub0;- Fettalkohol oder Säure, hydrophob kondensiert mit von etwa 2 bis etwa 100 Mol Ethylenoxid oder Propylenoxid pro Mol hydrophober Verbindung; die C&sub2;&submin;&sub1;&sub0;-Alkylphenole, kondensiert mit von 2 bis 20 Mol Alkylenoxid; Mono- und Di-Fettsäureester von Ethylenglykol; Fettsäuremonoglycerid; Sorbitan, Mono- und Di-C&sub8;&submin;&sub2;&sub0;-Fettsäuren; und Polyoxyethylensorbitan, als auch Kombinationen desselben. Alkylpolyglykoside und Saccharid-Fettamide (z. B. Methylgluconamide) sind ebenfalls geeignete nichtionische Tenside.
- Bevorzugte anionische Tenside schließen Seife, Alkylethersulfat und -sulfonate, Alkylsulfate und -sulfonate, Alkylbenzolsulfonate, Alkyl- und Dialkylsulfosuccinate, C&sub8;&submin;&sub2;&sub0;-Acylisethionate und Kombinationen derselben, ein.
- Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung können auch C&sub1;&submin;&sub2;&sub0;-α-Hydroxycarbonsäuren und Salze derselben enthalten. Die Salze sind bevorzugterweise Alkalimetall-, Ammonium- und C&sub1;&submin;&sub1;&sub2;- Alkanolammoniumsalze. Erläuternde Säuren sind Glykolsäure, Milchsäure und 2-Hydroxycaprylsäure. Am meisten bevorzugt ist eine Kombination von Glykol- und 2-Hydroxycaprylsäuren und deren Ammoniumsalze. Gehalte von diesen Materialien können im Bereich von etwa 0,01 bis etwa 15%, bevorzugterweise von etwa 0,1 bis etwa 8%, optimalerweise zwischen etwa 0,1 und 1 Gew.-% der kosmetischen Zusammensetzung, liegen.
- Schutzpräparate können in erwünschter Weise in die kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen dieser Erfindung inkorporiert sein, um gegen das Wachstum von möglicherweise schädlichen Mikroorganismen zu schützen. Geeignete herkömmliche Schutzpräparate für die Zusammensetzungen dieser Erfindung sind Alkylester von p-Hydroxybenzoesäure. Andere Schutzpräparate, welche noch vor kurzem in den Verbrauch kamen, schließen Hydantoin-Derivate, Propionat- Salze, und eine Auswahl von quaternären Ammoniumverbindungen, ein. Kosmetik-Chemiker sind mit geeigneten Schutzpräparaten vertraut und wählen diese routinemäßig aus, um den Konservierungsmittel-Abfragetest zu erfüllen und Produktstabilität vorzusehen. Besonders bevorzugte Schutzpräparate sind Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinylharnstoff, Natriumdehydroacetat und Benzylalkohol. Die Schutzpräparate sollten mit Beziehung für die Verwendung der Zusammensetzung und der möglichen Unverträglichkeiten zwischen den Schutzpräparaten und anderen Bestandteilen in der Emulsion ausgewählt sein. Schutzpräparate sind bevorzugterweise in Mengen im Bereich von etwa 0,01% bis etwa 2 Gew.-% der Zusammensetzung verwendet.
- Geringere Zusatzbestandteile können ebenfalls in den kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen vorhanden sein. Diese Bestandteile schließen Vitamine (wie Vitamin B&sub6;, Vitamin C, Vitamin A-Palmitat, Vitamin E-Acetat, Biotin, Niacin und DL-Panthenol) ein. Besonders bevorzugt ist eine Kombination von Vitamin C/Polypeptid-Komplex, verfügbar als Vitazyme C von der Brooks Company, USA. Niacin, Vitamin B&sub6; und Biotin sind von Roche Pharmaceuticals verfügbar.
- Ein anderer Zusatzbestandteil kann derjenige eines Enzyms sein. Besonders bevorzugt ist Superoxid-Dismutase, kommerziell verfügbar als Biocell SOD von der Brooks Company, USA.
- Natürliche pflanzliche Materialien von auswechselbaren Mitteln sind oftmals in kosmetischen Zusammensetzungen erwünscht. Zum Beispiel können kosmetische Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung β-Glucan, abgeleitet von Hafer, enthalten, kommerziell verfügbar unter der Handelsmarke Microat SF von Nurture Inc., Missoula, Montana. Ein anderes natürliches Material ist polymerisierte Glucose mit dem CTFA-Namen Sklerotium-Gummi, kommerziell verfügbar als Amigel von Alban Muller International/- Tri-K Industries, Inc., Emerson, New Jersey. Die Mengen von jeden der vorstehenden Materialien können im Bereich von etwa 0,01 bis etwa 10%, bevorzugterweise von etwa 0,05 bis etwa 1%, optimalerweise zwischen etwa 0,1 und 0,5 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Farbstoffe, Düfte, Trübungsmittel und Ablösmittel können ebenfalls in Zusammensetzungen der vorliegenden Erfindung enthalten sein. Jede dieser Substanzen kann im Bereich von etwa 0,05 bis etwa 5%, bevorzugterweise zwischen 0,1 und 3 Gew.-%, liegen.
- Die folgenden Beispiele werden die Ausführungsformen dieser Erfindung vollständiger erläutern. Alle hierin und in den anschließenden Ansprüchen angeführten Teile, Prozentsätze und Verhältnisse sind auf das Gewicht bezogen, es sei denn, daß etwas anderes angegeben wird.
- Eine Reihe von Versuchen wurde zum Auswerten des SPF-Beitrags aus dem EVA-Copolymeren und Mikrotröpfchen von Poly(methylmethacrylat) durchgeführt. Die Tabelle I erklärt die Basis- Zusammensetzung als ein vollständig formuliertes Produkt, ausgenommen ohne Sonnenschutz.
- Die in-vitro-SPF des formulierten Produkts, mit und ohne Sonnenschutz, wurde mit einem SPF-290 Analyzer, hergestellt von Optometrics USA, Inc., Ayer, Massachusetts, ausgewertet.
- Das optische System des SPF-290 besteht aus einer kontinuierlichen UV-VIS-Quelle, Farb-ausbalancierenden Filtern, Diffusionsplatten, einem Bildraster-Monochromator und Detektor. Ultraviolett-(UVB) und nahe Ultraviolett-(UVA)-Strahlung ist durch eine Xenon-Bogenlampe vorgesehen. Die aus der Quelle emittierte Strahlung ist in einer solchen Weise gedämpft, daß sie dem solaren Spektrum genauer gleicht. Die Strahlungsachse erreicht die Probe und sie wird, an diesem Punkt, entweder hindurchgelassen, absorbiert oder reflektiert durch die Probe oder das Substrat. Hindurchgelassene Strahlung durchströmt eine Reihe von Diffusorplatten, welche sie ferner abschwächen. Der Strahl tritt dann in einen Monochromator ein und schließlich prallt die monochromatische Strahlung auf die photosensitive Oberfläche des Detektors auf, erzeugend ein Signal, das proportional zu der Intensität der auf die Oberfläche auftreffenden Strahlung ist.
- Das Meßverfahren kompliziert das Aufbringen von 80 Mikroliter der Probe zu einem Transpore®-Band, unterstützt durch einen Halter. Die Probe wurde auf eine Fläche von 6,4 · 6,4 cm² in einer solchen Weise aufgebracht, daß eine Oberfläche von annähernd 40 cm² abgedeckt war. Eine Menge der Probe gleich 2 Mikroliter pro cm², welche ähnlich zu derjenigen in den Standard-in- vivo-SPF-Tests verwendeten ist, wurde auf dem Test-Band verteilt. SPF-Messungen wurden dann an den Probenformeln vorgenommen.
- Die Tabelle II gibt die Formeln A bis H an, von denen jede die Basis-Zusammensetzung verwendet, jedoch verschiedene Mengen an organischem Sonnenschutz, EVA-Copolymerem und/oder PMMA enthält. Die Tabelle III gibt Sonnenschutz-Aktivität durch SPF-Werte für die acht Formeln an.

- SPF der Basiszusammensetzung mit lediglich organischem Sonnenschutz (Formel A) ist ersichtlich für einen Anstieg von 24,7 bis 34,2 in Anwesenheit von EVA-Copolymerem und PMMA. Siehe Formel B, welche repräsentativ für die vorliegende Erfindung ist. Wenn entweder das EVA-Copolymere oder das PMMA, wie in den Formeln C bzw. D, abwesend ist, fällt SPF wiederum auf ungefähr 24 ab.

Claims (8)
1. Ein Sonnenschutzmittel, enthaltend:
(i) Von 0,01 bis 10% eines Ethylen-/Vinylacetat-Copolymeren;
(ii) von 0,01 bis 10% von Teilchen eines Acrylpolymeren;
(iii) von 0,1 bis 30% eines organischen Sonnenschutzmittels mit
einer chromophoren Gruppe, aktiv innerhalb des
ultravioletten Strahlungsbereichs von 290 bis 400 nm; und
(iv) von 60 bis 99, 5% auf dem Weg über einen pharmazeutisch
geeigneten Träger.
2. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin das
Acrylpolymere Poly(methylmethacrylat) ist.
3. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin das
Acrylpolyme eine durchschnittliche Teilchengröße im Bereich von 0,001 bis
weniger als 5 Mikron hat.
4. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin das
Acrylpolymere in einer Menge von 0,8 bis 1,5 Gew.-% vorhanden ist.
5. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Ethylen-/
Vinylacetat-Copolymere in einer Menge von 0,1 bis 2 Gew.-%
vorhanden ist.
6. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin Wasser und Öl
zur Bildung einer Emulsion vorhanden sind.
7. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, ferner von 0,01
bis 10 Gew.-% eines β-Glucans enthaltend.
8. Eine Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, ferner von 0,01
bis 10 Gew.-% Sklerotium-Gummi enthaltend.
