Description
The invention relates to a sound player having one of the corners of a Housing adapted to the room.
Ein Problem, das bisher nur teilweise ge-S löst werden konnte, ist das Problem der Beseitigung des sog. akustischen Kurzschlusses, einer Erscheinung, die dann auftritt, wenn gleichzeitig zwei Schallausstrahlungen von entgegengesetzter Phasenbeziehung erfolgen,One problem that could only be partially solved so far is the problem of elimination the so-called acoustic short circuit, a phenomenon that occurs when two sound emissions with opposite phase relationship occur at the same time,
Jede strahlende Membran erzeugt auf der Rückseite einen Unterdruck, wenn auf der Vor-ίο who interact with each other in the playback room, and can result in the extinction of the lower tones in particular. Every radiating membrane creates a negative pressure on the rear side, if on the front

The resulting pressure differences between the front and back are the same especially with slow vibrations partially off, so that the effective sound emission the lower tones is significantly impaired.
It is already known that this acoustic short-circuit can be prevented by a baffle which is attached to both sides of the membrane. It turned out, however, that such a partition would have to take on very large dimensions in order to reproduce the lowest possible tones for the human ear. The diameter of such a partition would have to correspond approximately to the wavelength of the lowest tone to be reproduced. It is of course not possible to place such a partition in a normal size room. A 0 Another way to eliminate the acoustic short-circuiting arises from the fact that IThe backside of the membrane to complete fully or can be lead into a Tonhöhle and that used only the front side for emitting, the front side at all of its points vibrates in phase . The placement of a pitch in a normal playback room also encounters difficulties.
Bei einem in der Ecke einesThe invention is therefore based on the idea through a novel arrangement of the Parts of a sound reproduction device with a tone cavity and an equally novel one Exploitation of the installation site for this purpose increases the existing difficulties overcome. According to the invention, the radiating membrane is used as the sound reproducing device set up by Zimmer with a substantially vertical direction of radiation within a housing of preferably prismatic shape '^ arranged, which by a membrane receiving baffle is divided such that on the back of the membrane a acoustically closed and using the available space in the Room corner spacious clay cavity is formed, the height of which is at least equal to that five times the membrane diameter, while opposite the membrane front to deflect the vertical sound radiation an inclined deflecting surface, preferably a conical surface, is arranged.
Auf diese Weise ist es möglich, eine geräumige Tonhöhle von ausreichender LängeIn this way it is possible to have a spacious clay cavity of sufficient length
It is desirable, but not necessary, to make the pitch so large that its length even more than five times the diaphragm diameter and that their own frequency is significantly below the frequency of the audible lowest notes. But to an unnecessarily large construction "of the device avoid, the inner surfaces of the tone cavity are used to suppress disturbing vibrations clad with a sound-absorbing sheet material. In addition, the upper end surface of the tone cavity opposite the membrane sound-absorbing material in attached in such a position that thereby also vibrations in a pronounced Resonance frequency can be prevented. To the vertically directed sound radiation from directing the front of the membrane into the playback room and distributing it evenly, various means known per se are applied mutatis mutandis.
The invention is explained on the basis of the figures. In the figures, 10 is a case, the cross-section of which corresponds to a square with a cut-off corner (see Fig. 3). The cut-off corner is directed towards the room. In its lower part, the housing has a sound opening 11 which, however, is separated from the main room by a partition 12. In an opening 12 ß this partition is the sound reproduction device 13 with a large-area membrane that can be used without a special horn. The arrangement is designed so that it adapts to the corner of a room, the edges 14 of which are indicated in FIG. Since the sound opening 11 is in the immediate vicinity of the corner of the room, the room walls act as a natural continuation of the sound opening, which preferably extends on both sides up to the walls in question. In Fig. 1 the sound opening is arranged below and the acoustically located behind the sound reproduction device 13 tone cavity 20 above. If the local conditions make it appear advisable, one can of course also proceed the other way round, ie arrange the sound opening in the upper corner of the room and allow the tone cavity 20 to extend downwards.
Special means are provided to direct the sound as far as possible to where the audience will be. When arranging the sound opening on the floor of a room, the proportions are expediently chosen so that the strongest sound waves are directed at the head of the listener who is in the middle of the room in which the arrangement is used. Such directional means are the deflecting surfaces 15, 16, which are designed as parts of conical surfaces. The apex angle of the associated cone is not very critical; apart from the aforementioned considerations of the main beam direction, it is also determined by the height of the partition 12 above the base area. As a suitable angle of 130 0 has been found, but they are also values which are greater by 20 ° 9 "or less well usable. The deflecting surface 16, which is located between the surface 15 making up approximately * / 4 of the cone and the partition 12, is only designed as a conical casing ring that extends from the outer edge of the sound opening to the central axis of the sound reproduction device 13, as shown in Fig. 2 and 4 can be seen. In order to improve the horizontal distribution of the sound waves, two vertical fin-like walls 17 and 18 are also provided, which extend between the deflection surface 15 and the partition 12. The two walls 17, 18 unite after the corner to form a wall 19. The surfaces 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 should be sufficiently rigid to prevent disruptive mechanical vibrations in the audio frequency range.
The one located above the partition wall 12 Housing 10 forms a closed sound-absorbing or sound-damping chamber and has the task of interfering with the sound waves generated on the back of the membrane with the waves generated on the front. The walls of this chamber are also relatively strong, stiff and with sound-destroying plate-shaped Fabrics 20, e.g. B. fiber plates, lined to prevent resonance phenomena. In addition, a separates from the the edge of the lid sloping downwards and backwards 2 χ or a tone-
B. Wolle, gefüllt ist.permeable plate or a narrow strip from the top of the housing pyramid-shaped space 22, which is covered with a sound-absorbing substance, e.g. B. wool, is filled.
also verschiedene Resonanzfreqüenzen besitzen. In diesem Sinne wirkt z.
The inclined, preferably conical deflecting surfaces 15, 16, in conjunction with the vertical partitions 17, 18, 19, produce an almost uniform distribution of the radiated sound in the horizontal direction. There is practically no annoying interference. At the same time, there is a very favorable distribution of the sound waves in the room in the vertical direction. The partitions 17, 18 and the deflecting surface 16 are particularly advantageous for the frequency range from 600 to 1200 Hz.
The closed tone cavity formed by the housing 10 essentially consumes the sound waves emanating from the rear of the membrane. In order for the effect to be as perfect as possible, mechanical resonance peaks, which, as mentioned, can occur primarily due to the oscillation of the chamber walls, should be avoided. Resonance peaks would in themselves mean an amplification of the tone in question and, from this point of view, could initially be viewed as desirable. However, since a corresponding transmission sink occurs between every two resonance peaks due to the phase reversal, a very non-uniform transmission characteristic would result. By damping the resonance phenomena of the chamber walls, however, the characteristic is compared. The resonance properties of the housing are further reduced by avoiding parallel opposing surfaces if possible or at least switching them in such a way that the opposing surfaces do not have the same dimensions, so that they at least have different resonance frequencies. In this sense, z. B. also the area io a , which has taken the place of a vertical edge to be thought of as cut away. By the way, this also gives the whole arrangement a more pleasing appearance. The inclined wall 21, which, as the surface opposite the membrane itself, requires particular attention, also serves primarily to avoid parallel surfaces. The resonance property of the air column enclosed in the sound cavity must be distinguished from the resonance properties of the housing and treated differently. As is well known, this also represents an acoustic oscillator of a certain natural frequency. This resonance, which is also dampened by the sound-absorbing means, is not only not disturbing, but even desirable if it is in the area of the lower tones, which are to be favored. In order to achieve this 6g resonance position, the volume of the air mass should be sufficiently large.
The membrane is preferably parallel to the floor surface, but it can also be light be inclined. The inclinations of the deflecting surfaces 15 and 16 must then be changed accordingly will.
The described and illustrated embodiment was based on a right-angled Corner of the room. The device can of course also if the adaptation to the place of installation this makes it necessary to obtain some other cross-sectional shape or also approximately conical shape.
