Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Verbindungen, die sowohl einen gehinderten Aminrest als auch einen Nitronrest aufweisen sowie die Verwendung dieser Verbindungen zur Stabilisierung organischer Materialien gegen oxidativen, thermischen oder durch harte Strahlung (aktinisches Licht) ausgelösten Abbau und die stabilisierten Materialien.
- Die gehinderten Amine, wie die Derivate von 2,2,6,6- Tetramethylpiperidin, sind seit langem als sehr wirksame Stabilisatoren gegen schädliche Wirkungen von harter Strahlung bekannt. In der Tat erfreuen sich zahlreiche solcher Verbindungen als Lichtstabilisatoren für eine Vielzahl von organischen Substraten beachtlichen wirtschaftlichen Erfolgs.
- J.B. Adeniyi et al., J. Appl. Poly. Sci. 34, 2673 (1987) beschreibt Nitrone als Verfahrensstabilisatoren für Poly(vinylchlorid), PVC, in Gegenwart von Zinnmaleat und einem Chlorwasserstoffänger. Nitrone wirken durch Einfangen von Radikalen, die durch mechanische Spaltung der Polymerkette gebildet werden.
- L.P. Nethsinghe et al., Rubber Chem. Tech. 57, 779 (1984), zeigen, daß N-Niederalkyl-α-phenyl- oder substituierte Phenylnitrone als Antiermüdungs-, Antioxidans- und Antiozonisierungsmittel für vulkanisierten Kautschuk wirksam sind.
- K.B. Chakraborty et al., J. Appl. Poly. Sci. 30, 3267 (1985) offenbaren Aldonitrone, die eine phenolische Gruppe enthalten, die als Schmelzstabilisatoren für Polypropylen wirksam sind. Diese Nitrone sind N-Phenyl- oder N-tert.-Butyl-α-phenyl- oder substituierte Phenylnitrone.
- A.Y. Gerchikov et al., Zh. Prikl. Khim 1986, 1082 (Chemical Abstracts 106, 4388n (1987)), beschreiben Amid-substituierte Nitrone als Antioxidantien für industrielle Ester, abgeleitet von Pentaerythrit.
- Die Japanische Patentanmeldung Sho 59-11345 beschreibt die Schmelzstabilisierung von Olefinpolymeren unter Verwendung ausgewählter Aldonitrone und Ketonitrone. N-tert.- Butyl-α-phenylnitron ist als Verfahrensstabilisator für Polypropylen beispielhaft angegeben. Die Substitution am N-Atom des Nitrons wird als Alkyl mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, Phenyl oder Tolyl beschrieben. Die Substitution am α-Kohlenstoffatom ist Wasserstoff, Phenyl oder substituiertes Phenyl.
- M. Schulz et al., Plaste Kautsch. 1986, 209 (Chemical Abstracts 105, 173628a (1986)) offenbart die Antioxidansaktivität von N-Phenylaldonitronen oder Ketonitronen als Antioxidantien für Polypropylen. N-tert.-Butyl- oder N-Phenyl-α-phenyl- oder substituierte Phenylnitrone sind beschrieben.
- Langkettige N-Alkyl-α-alkylnitrone sind als Verfahrensstabilisatoren für Polyolefine in US-A-4 898 901 beschrieben.
- Keine von diesen Literaturstellen offenbart die vorliegenden Verbindungen, die sowohl gehinderte Amin- als auch Nitronreste in dem gleichen Molekül aufweisen.
- Die Gegenwart der Nitrongruppe in den vorliegenden Verbindungen berücksichtigt die mögliche Kupplung der vorliegenden Stabilisatorverbindungen an das Polymer, das durch eine kovalente Bindung während des Polymerverarbeitungsschrittes stabilisiert wird. Die vorliegenden Verbindungen haben sowohl einen gehinderten Aminrest als auch einen Nitronrest. Solche Verbindungen sind neu und gestatten eine viel größere Flexibilität in Molekularstrukturen als die Nitrone und gehinderten Amine des Standes der Technik.
- Dies wird besonders deutlich, wenn das N-Atom des gehinderten Amins mit einer Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe substituiert ist. Solche Gruppen sind nicht wechselwirkend und ermöglichen das gehinderte Amin in Poly(vinylchlorid), PVC, und säurekatalysierten wärmehärtbaren Acrylbeschichtungen zu verwenden, wo gehinderte Amine mit hoher Basizität manchmal Probleme verursachen.

- Bevorzugte Verbindungen der vorliegenden Erfindung sind jene der Formel I, II, III oder IV, worin E Wasserstoff, Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, Acetyl, Alkyloxy mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cyclohexyloxy darstellt, R und R&sub1; jeweils Methyl bedeuten, n 1 ist, T Benzyl ist, G&sub3; eine direkte Bindung darstellt, G&sub4; Wasserstoff bedeutet, m 1 oder 2 ist, wenn m 1 ist, ist G&sub2; Alkyl mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Phenyl und wenn m 2 ist, ist G&sub2; Alkylen mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Phenylen, X und X&sub1; gleich und

- Die vorliegenden Verbindungen können durch zahlreiche Verfahren hergestellt werden. Diese schließen die Kondensation eines monosubstituierten Hydroxylamins mit einer Carbonylverbindung, wie einem Aldehyd oder Keton, ein. Der gehinderte Aminrest kann entweder in dem Hydroxylamin oder in der Carbonylverbindung sein.
- Monosubstituierte Hydroxylamine, enthaltend gehinderte Aminbestandteile, werden durch Hydrierung des entsprechenden Oximderivats hergestellt.
- Ein alternatives Verfahren zur Herstellung von Nitronen ist die direkte Oxidation des entsprechenden sekundären Amins oder sekundären Hydroxylamins, wie in US-A-4 898 901 gelehrt. Die sekundären Amine werden leicht durch reduktive Aminierung von Aldehyden und Ketonen hergestellt.
- Die benötigten Ausgangsstoffe zur Herstellung der vorliegenden Verbindungen sind im Handel erhältlich oder können durch allgemein bekannte Verfahren hergestellt werden.
- Eine weitere Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist eine Zusammensetzung, die (a) ein organisches Material, das oxidativem, thermischem oder durch harte Strahlung ausgelöstem Abbau unterliegt und (b) mindestens eine Verbindung der Formel I, II, III oder IV umfaßt.
- Substrate, in denen die Verbindungen dieser Erfindung besonders verwendbar sind, sind Polyolefine, wie Polyethylen und Polypropylen; Polystyrol, einschließlich besonders schlagzähes Polystyrol; ABS-Harz; Elastomere, zum Beispiel Butadienkautschuk, EPM, EPDM, SBR und Nitrilkautschuk.
- Im allgemeinen sind Polymere, die stabilisiert werden können:
- 1. Polymere von Monoolefinen und Diolefinen, zum Beispiel Polyethylen (das gegebenenfalls vernetzt sein kann) Polypropylen, Polyisobutylen, Polybuten-1, Polymethylpenten- 1, Polyisopren oder Polybutadien, sowie Polymere von Cycloolefinen, zum Beispiel von Cyclopenten oder Norbornen.
- 2. Gemische von Polymeren, die unter 1) angeführt wurden, zum Beispiel Gemische von Polypropylen mit Polyisobutylen
- 3. Copolymere von Monoolefinen und Diolefinen miteinander oder mit anderen Vinylmonomeren, zum Beispiel Ethylen/Propylen, Propylen/ Buten-1, Propylen/Isobutylen, Ethylen/Buten-1, Propylen/Butadien, Isobutylen/Isopren, Ethylen/Alkylacrylate, Ethylen/Alkylmethacrylate, Ethylen/Vinylacetat oder Ethylen/ Acrylsäurecopolymere und deren Salze (Ionomere) und Terpolymere von Ethylen mit Propylen und einem Dien, wie Hexadien, Dicyclopentadien oder Ethyliden-Norbornen.
- 4. Polystyrol, Poly-(p-methylstyrol).
- 5. Copolymere von Styrol oder Methylstyrol mit Dienen oder Acrylderivaten, wie zum Beispiel Styrol/Butadien, Styrol/Acrylnitril, Styrol/Ethylmethacrylat, Styrol/Butadien/Ethylacrylat, Styrol/Acrylnitril/Methylacrylat; Gemische hoher Schlagzähigkeit aus Styrolcopolymerisaten und anderem Polymer, zum Beispiel Polyacrylat, ein Dienpolymer oder ein Ethylen/Propylen/ Dienterpolymer; und Blockpolymere von Styrol, zum Beispiel Styrol/Butadien/Styrol, Styrol/Isopren/Styrol, Styrol/Ethylen/Butylen/Styrol oder Styrol/Ethylen/Propylen/Styrol.
- 6. Pfropfcopolymere von Styrol, zum Beispiel Styrol auf Polybutadien, Styrol und Acrylnitril auf Polybutadien, Styrol und Alkylacrylate oder Methacrylate auf Polybutadien, Styrol und Acrylnitril auf Ethylen/Propylen/Dien-Terpolymeren, Styrol und Acrylnitril auf Polyacrylaten oder Polymethacrylaten, Styrol und Acrylnitril auf Acrylat/Butadien-Copolymeren sowie Gemische davon mit den unter 5) aufgeführten Copolymeren, zum Beispiel den Copolymergemischen, bekannt als ABS-, MBS-, ASA- oder AES-Polymere.
- 7. Halogenhaltige Polymere, wie Polychloropren, chlorierte Kautschuke, chloriertes oder sulfochloriertes Polyethylen, Epichlorhydrin-Homo- und Copolymere, Polymere aus halogenhaltigen Vinylverbindungen, zum Beispiel Polyvinylchlorid, Polyvinylidenchlorid, Polyvinylfluorid, Polyvinylidenfluorid sowie Copolymere davon, zum Beispiel Vinylchlorid/Vinylidenchlorid, Vinylchlorid/Vinylacetat, Vinylidenchlorid/Vinylacetatcopolymere oder Vinylfluorid/Vinylether-Copolymerisate.
- 8. Polymere, die abgeleitet sind von α,β-ungesättigten Säuren und Derivaten davon, wie Polyacrylate und Polymethacrylate, Polyacrylamid und Polyacrylnitril.
- 9. Copolymere von Monomeren, die unter 8) aufgeführt wurden, miteinander oder mit anderen ungesättigten Monomeren, wie zum Beispiel Acrylnitril/Butadien, Acrylnitril/Alkylacrylat, Acrylnitril/Alkoxyalkylacrylat oder Acrylnitril/Vinylhalogenidcopolymere oder Acrylnitril/Alkylmethacrylat/Butadien-Terpolymere.
- 10. Polymere, die von ungesättigten Alkoholen und Aminen abgeleitet sind, oder Acylderivate davon oder Acetale davon, wie Polyvinylalkohol, Polyvinylacetat, Polyvinylstearat, Polyvinylbenzoat, Polyvinylmaleat, Polyvinylbutyral, Polyallylphthalat oder Polyallylmelamin.

- 27. Gemische von Polymeren, die vorstehend genannt wurden, zum Beispiel PP/EPDM, Polyamid 6/EPDM oder ABS, PVC/EVA, PVC/ABS, PVC/MBS, PC/ABS, PBTP/ABS.

Natürlich vorkommende und synthetische organische Materialien, die rein monomere Verbindungen oder Gemische solcher Verbindungen sind, zum Beispiel Mineralöle, tierische und pflanzliche Fette, Öl und Wachse oder Öle, Fette und Wachse, basierend auf synthetischen Estern (zum Beispiel Phthalaten, Adipaten, Phosphaten oder Trimellitaten) und auch Gemische von synthetischen Estern mit Mineralölen in beliebigen Gewichtsverhältnissen, wobei die Stoffe als Plastifizierungsmittel für Polymere verwendet werden können oder als Schmälzöle (textile spinning oils) sowie als wässerige Emulsionen für solche Materialien.
- 29. Wässerige Emulsionen natürlichen oder synthetischen Kautschuks, zum Beispiel natürlicher Latex oder Latex von carboxylierten Styrol/Butadiencopolymeren.
- 30. Polysiloxane, wie die weichen hydrophilen Polysiloxane, die zum Beispiel in der US-Patentschrift Nr. 4 259 467 beschrieben wurden und die harten Polyorganosiloxane, die zum Beispiel in der US-Patentschrift Nr. 4 355 147 beschrieben wurden.
- 31. Polyketimine in Kombination mit ungesättigten acrylischen Polyacetoacetatharzen oder mit ungesättigten Acrylharzen. Die ungesättigten Acrylharze schließen die Urethanacrylate, Polyetheracrylate, Vinyl- oder Acrylpolymere mit ungesättigten Seitengruppen und die acrylierten Melamine ein. Die Polyketimine werden aus Polyaminen und Ketonen in Gegenwart eines Säurekatalysators hergestellt.
- 32. Strahlungshärtbare Massen, enthaltend ethylenisch ungesättigte Monomere oder Oligomere und ein polyungesättigtes aliphatisches Oligomer, wie Santolink XI 100 (Monsanto).
- 33. Epoxymelaminharze, wie lichtstabile Epoxyharze, vernetzt mit einem epoxyfunktionell coverethertem Melaminharz mit hohem Feststoffanteil, wie LSE 4103 (Monsanto).
- Ein besonders bevorzugtes Substrat ist ein Polyolefin, insbesondere Polypropylen.
- Ein Acrylharz ist ebenfalls eines der bevorzugten Substrate.
- Eine andere Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung der Verbindungen der Formeln I, II, III oder IV zur Stabilisierung eines organischen Materials gegen oxidativen, thermischen oder durch harte Strahlung ausgelösten Abbau.
- Im allgemeinen werden die Verbindungen der vorliegenden Erfindung in etwa 0,01 bis etwa 5 Gew.-% der stabilisierten Masse angewendet, obwohl dies mit dem besonderen Substrat und der Anwendung schwanken wird. Ein vorteilhafter Bereich beträgt etwa 0,5 bis etwa 2 %, insbesondere 0,1 bis etwa 1 %.
- Die Stabilisatoren der vorliegenden Erfindung können leicht in organische Polymere durch übliche Techniken in jeder geeigneten Stufe vor der Herstellung der Formgegenstände davon eingegeben werden. Zum Beispiel können Stabilisatoren mit dem Polymer in Trockenpulverform vermischt werden oder eine Suspension oder Emulsion des Stabilisators kann mit einer Lösung, Suspension oder Emulsion des Polymers vermischt werden.
- Im allgemeinen können die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen zu den polymeren Materialien vor, während oder nach der Polymerisation oder Vernetzung der Materialien zugegeben werden.

- Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen können als Stabilisatoren, insbesondere als Lichtstabilisatoren, für fast alle bekannten Materialien im Stand der Technik der photographischen Reproduktion und anderen Reproduktionsverfahren, wie beispielsweise in Research Disclosure 1990, 31429 (Seite 474 bis 480) beschrieben, verwendet werden.
- Von besonderem Interesse ist die Verwendung der vorliegenden Derivate in einer Vielzahl von Beschichtungssystemen, einschließlich bei Umgebungstemperatur gehärteter und säurekatalysierter Beschichtungssysteme. Insbesondere wird die physikalische Integrität der Beschichtungen zu einem höheren Grad mit deutlicher Verminderung an Glanzverlust und Vergilben aufrechterhalten. Grundlegende Verbesserungen sind die vorwiegende Abwesenheit von Härtungsverzögerung, der man bei N-Alkyl-gehinderten Amin-Lichtstabilisatoren begegnet und die vorwiegende Abwesenheit von Ausflocken und Destabilisieren der Dispersion, der man begegnet, wenn N-Alkyl-gehinderte Amine in bestimmten pigmentierten Beschichtungssystemen verwendet werden und die Abwesenheit von Adhäsionsverlust zwischen der Beschichtung und Polycarbonatsubstrat. Folglich werden Verbindungen, gegebenenfalls zusammen mit weiteren Stabilisatoren vorzugsweise zum Stabilisieren von bei Umgebungstemperaturen gehärteten Beschichtungen, die auf Alkydharzen; thermoplastischen Acrylharzen; acrylischen Alkyden; acrylischen Alkyd- oder Polyesterharzen, gegebenenfalls mit Silicon modifiziert, Isocyanaten, Isocyanuraten, Ketiminen oder Oxazolidinen; und Epoxidharzen, vernetzt mit Carbonsäuren, Anhydriden, Polyaminen oder Mercaptanen; und acrylischen und Polyesterharzsystemen, modifiziert mit reaktiven Gruppen in deren Gerüst und vernetzt mit Epoxiden; basieren, gegen die abbauende Wirkung von Licht, Feuchtigkeit und Sauerstoff verwendet.
- Des weiteren werden bei ihren industriellen Anwendungen, Emaillelacke mit hohem Feststoffgehalt, basierend auf vernetzbaren acrylischen, Polyester-, Urethan- oder Alkydharzen mit einem zusätzlichen Säurekatalysator gehärtet. Lichtstabilisatoren, die eine basische Stickstoffgruppe enthalten, sind im allgemeinen weniger befriedigend bei dieser Anwendung. Die Bildung eines Salzes zwischen dem Säurekatalysator und Lichtstabilisator führt zur Unverträglichkeit oder Unlöslichkeit und zum Ausfällen des Salzes und zu einem verminderten Maß an Härtung und zu einer verminderten Lichtschutzwirkung und schlechten Widerstandsfähigkeit gegenüber Feuchte.
- Diese säurekatalysierten Einbrennlacke basieren auf heiß vernetzbaren acrylischen, Polyester-, Polyurethan-, Polyamid- oder Alkydharzen. Die acrylischen Harzlacke, die gegen Licht, Feuchte und Sauerstoff gemäß der Erfindung stabilisiert werden können, sind die üblichen Acrylharzeinbrennlacke oder wärmehärtbare Harze, einschließlich Acryl- Melaminsystemen, die z.B. in H. Kittel's "Lehrbuch der Lacke und Beschichtungen", Bd. 1 Teil 2, auf den Seiten 735 und 742 (Berlin 1972), "Lackkunstharze" (1977), von H. Wagner und H.F. Sarx, auf den Seiten 229-238, und in S. Paul's "Surface Coating: Science and Technology" (1985) beschrieben sind.
- Die Polyesterlacke, die gegen die Lichteinwirkung und Feuchtigkeit stabilisiert werden können, sind übliche Einbrennlacke, beschrieben z.B. bei H. Wagner und H.F. Sarx, vorstehend zitiert, auf den Seiten 86-99.
- Die Alkydharzlacke, die gegen die Einwirkung von Licht und Feuchtigkeit gemäß vorliegender Erfindung stabilisiert werden können, sind übliche Einbrennlacke, die insbesondere zum Beschichten von Kraftfahrzeugen (Autodecklacke), zum Beispiel Lacke, basierend auf Alkyd/Melaminharzen und Alkyd/Acryl/Melaminharzen (siehe H. Wagner und H.F. Sarx, vorstehend zitiert, Seiten 99-123) geeignet sind. Andere Vernetzungsmittel sind Glycolurilharze, blockierte Isocyanate oder Epoxyharze.
- Die erfindungsgemäß stabilisierten säurekatalysierten Einbrennlacke sind sowohl für Metalldeckanstriche als auch feste Schattierungsdecklacke, insbesondere im Fall von Ausbesserungslacken sowie verschiedenen Leitungsbeschichtungsanwendungen geeignet. Die erfindungsgemäß stabilisierten Lakke werden vorzugsweise in üblicher Weise durch zwei Verfahren entweder durch das Einfachbeschichtungsverfahren oder das Doppelbeschichtungsverfahren aufgetragen. Bei letzterem Verfahren wird der pigmenthaltige Grundanstrich zuerst und darüber dann eine Deckschicht klaren Lacks aufgetragen.
- Es muß auch bemerkt werden, daß die vorliegenden substituierten gehinderten Amine zur Verwendung bei nichtsauren wärmehärtbaren Harzen anwendbar sind, z.B. bei Epoxy-, Epoxypolyestern, Vinyl-, Alkyd-, acrylischen und Polyesterharzen, gegebenenfalls modifiziert mit Silicon, Isocyanaten oder Isocyanuraten. Die Epoxy- und Epoxypolyesterharze werden mit üblichen Vernetzern, wie Säuren, Säureanhydriden, Aminen und dergleichen vernetzt.
- Folglich können die Epoxide als Vernetzungsmittel für verschiedene acrylische oder Polyesterharzsysteme verwendet werden, die durch die Anwesenheit von reaktiven Gruppen an der Gerüststruktur modifiziert wurden.
- Um eine maximale Lichtstabilität solcher Beschichtungen zu erreichen, kann die gleichzeitige Verwendung anderer üblicher Lichtstabilisatoren vorteilhaft sein. Beispiele sind die vorstehend genannten UV-Absorber von Benzophenon, Benzotriazol, Acrylsäurederivaten oder Oxanilidarten oder Aryl-s-triazinen oder metallhaltigen Lichtstabilisatoren, zum Beispiel organischen Nickelverbindungen. In Zweischichtsystemen können diese zusätzlichen Lichtstabilisatoren zu der klaren Beschichtung und/oder der Beschichtung auf Pigmentbasis zugegeben werden.
- Wenn solche Kombinationen angewendet werden, beträgt die Summe aller Lichtstabilisatoren beispielsweise 0,2 bis 20 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 5 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das filmbildende Harz.
- Beispiele für UV-Absorptionsmittel, die in den vorliegenden Zusammensetzungen im Zusammenhang mit den vorstehend genannten Piperidinverbindungen verwendet werden können, sind:
- (a) 2-(2'-Hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole, zum Beispiel die 5'-Methyl-, 3',5'-Di-tert.butyl-, 5'-tert.Butyl-, 5'-(1,1,3,3-Tetramethylbutyl)-, 5-Chlor-3',5'-di-tert.butyl-, 5-Chlor-3'-tert.butyl-5'-methyl-, 3'-sec.Butyl-5'-tert.-butyl-, 4'-Octoxy- und 3',5'-Di-tert.amyl-Derivate.
- (b) 2-Hydroxybenzophenone, zum Beispiel die 4-Hydroxy-, 4-Methoxy-, 4-Octoxy-, 4-Decyloxy-, 4-Dodecyloxy-, 4-Benzyloxy-, 4,2',4'-Trihydroxy- und 2'-Hydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxy-Derivate.
- (c) Acrylate, zum Beispiel α-Cyano-β,β-diphenylacrylsäureethylester oder α-Cyano-β,β-diphenylacrylsäureisooctylester, α-Carbomethoxyzimtsäuremethylester, α-Cyano-β-methyl-p-methoxyzimtsäuremethylester, α-Cyano-β-methyl-p-methoxyzimtsäurebutylester, α-Carbomethoxy-p-methoxyzimtsäuremethylester und N-(β-Carbomethoxy-β-cyanovinyl)-2-methylindolin.
- (d) Nickelverbindungen, zum Beispiel Nickelkomplexe von 2,2'-Thiobis[4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol], wie der 1:1- oder 1:2-Komplex, gegebenenfalls mit zusätzlichen Liganden, wie n-Butylamin, Triethanolamin oder N-Cyclohexyldiethanolamin, Nickeldibutyldithiocarbamat, Nickelsalze von 4-Hydroxy-3,5-di-tert.butylbenzylphosphonsäuremonoalkylestern, z.B. die Methyl-, Ethyl- oder Butylester, Nickelkomplexe von Ketoximen, z.B. von 2-Hydroxy-4-methylphenylundecylketonoxim, Nickelkomplexe von 1-Phenyl-4-lauroyl-5- hydroxypyrazol, gegebenenfalls mit zusätzlichen Liganden.
- (e) Oxalsäurediamide, zum Beispiel 4,4'-Dioctyloxyoxanilid, 2,2'-Dioctyloxy-5,5'-di-tert.butyloxanilid, 2,2'-Di-dodecyloxy-5,5'-di-tert.butyloxanilid, 2-Ethoxy-2'- ethyloxanilid, N,N'-Bis(3-dimethylaminopropyl)oxalamid, 2-Ethoxy-5-tert.butyl-2'-ethyloxanilid und deren Gemische mit 2-Ethoxy-2'-ethyl-5,4'-di-tert.butyloxanilid und Gemische von ortho- und para-methoxydisubstituierten Oxaniliden sowie von o- und p-ethoxydisubstituierten Oxaniliden.
- (f) Hydroxyphenyl-s-triazine, wie 2,6-Bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-4-(2-hydroxy-4-octyloxyphenyl)-s-triazin oder die entsprechenden 4-(2,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)derivate.
- Von besonderem Wert in den vorliegenden Massen sind die Benzotriazole hohen Molekulargewichts und niederer Flüchtigkeit, wie 2-[2-Hydroxy-3,5-di(α,α-dimethylbenzyl)phenyl]-2H-benzotriazol, 2-(2-Hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-octyl-phenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-(2-Hydroxy-3-α,α-dimethylbenzyl-5- tert-octyl-phenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-(2-Hydroxy-3-tert-octyl-5-α,α-dimethylbenzylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-(2-Hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-amylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-[2-Hydroxy- 3-tert-butyl-5-(2-(ω-hydroxy-octa-(ethylenoxy)carbonyl)ethylphenyl]-2H-benzotriazol, dodecyliertes 2-(2-Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-[2-Hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-(2-octyloxycarbonyl)ethylphenyl]-2H-benzotriazol und die 5-Chlorverbindungen entsprechend der vorstehend genannten Benzotriazole.
- Die am meisten in den vorliegenden Massen bevorzugt verwendbaren Benzotriazole sind 2-[2-Hydroxy-3,5-di(α,α- dimethylbenzyl)-phenyl]-2H-benzotriazol, dodecyliertes 2-(2- Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazol, 2-[2-Hydroxy-3-tert- butyl-5-(2-(ω-hydroxy-octa-(ethylenoxy)carbonyl)-ethylphenyl]-2H-benzotriazol, 2-[2-Hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-(2-octyloxycarbonyl)ethylphenyl]-2H-benzotriazol und 5-Chlor-2-[2- hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-(2-octyloxy-carbonyl)ethylphenyl]-2H- benzotriazol.
- Es ist auch denkbar, daß die vorliegenden Verbindungen besonders wirksam sind als Stabilisatoren fur Polyolefinfasern, insbesondere Polypropylenfasern, wenn sie zusammen mit anderen Stabilisatoren, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus phenolischen Antioxidantien, gehinderten Amin- Lichtstabilisatoren, organischen Phosphorverbindungen, Ultraviolettlichtabsorbern und Gemischen davon verwendet werden.
- Die nachstehenden Beispiele erläutern die Ausführungsformen dieser Erfindung. In diesen Beispielen sind die Teilangaben auf das Gewicht bezogen, sofern nicht anders ausgewiesen.
- Die Verbindungen, die in den Beispielen 1 bis 9 und 11, insbesondere 3, offenbart sind, entsprechen einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung.
- Ein Gemisch von 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidin-4-onoxim (4,0 g, 23,5 mMol), 10 ml 5N Salzsäure in Methanol, 40 ml Methanol und 10 ml Wasser wird bei 3 Atmosphären Wasserstoff über Platinoxid für 18 Stunden unterzogen. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird durch Celit filtriert und eingeengt. Der Rückstand wird in 50 ml Methanol gelöst und dann werden 2,5 g (23,5 mMol) Benzaldehyd und 6,3 g (60 mMol) Natriumcarbonat zugegeben. Das Gemisch wird anschließend für 4 Stunden gerührt. Das Gemisch wird eingeengt und der Rückstand zwischen Methylenchlorid und Wasser, dem ausreichend Natriumcarbonat zugegeben wurde, um einen pH-Wert von mindestens 10 zu sichern, verteilt. Die organische Schicht wird mit Wasser und Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und schließlich eingeengt unter Erhalt von 4,8 g eines weißen Feststoffes. Der Feststoff wird aus Heptan umkristallisiert unter Erhalt von 2,9 g (47 % Ausbeute) der Titelverbindung, die bei 113ºC schmilzt.

- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wird die Titelverbindung aus 5,0 g (29,4 mMol) 1,2,2,6,6-Pentamethylpiperidin-4-onoxim und 3,1 g (29 mMol) Benzaldehyd in einer Ausbeute von 2,3 g (30 %) eines weißen Feststoffes, der nach Umkristallisation bei 104-105ºC schmilzt, hergestellt.

- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wird die Titelverbindung aus 1-Cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-onoxim (2,7 g, 10 mMol) und 1,1 g (10 mMol) Benzaldehyd in einer Ausbeute von 2,0 g (56 %) als ein weißer Feststoff nach Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (8:1, Heptan:Essigsäureethylester) hergestellt, der Feststoff schmilzt bei 149-151ºC.

- Zu einer gerührten Lösung von 1,9 g (7,5 mMol) 1-Cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-on in 20 ml Methanol werden 1,4 g (9,0 mMol) N-Benzylhydroxylaminhydrochlorid und 1,5 g (10,8 mMol) Kaliumcarbonat gegeben. Nach Rühren für 4 Stunden wird das Reaktionsgemisch eingeengt und der Rückstand zwischen Methylenchlorid und Wasser verteilt. Die organische Schicht wird mit Wasser und Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und schließlich eingeengt unter Erhalt von 3,2 g eines grünen Öls. Dieses Öl wird durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (3 % Methanol in Essigsäureethylester) gereinigt unter Erhalt von 1,6 g (60 % Ausbeute) der Titelverbindung als ein schweres Öl.

- Zu einer gerührten Lösung von 2,9 g (9,5 mMol) 4-n- Butylamino-1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin in 40 ml Methanol und 10 ml Wasser werden bei Raumtemperatur 0,3 g Natriumwolframatdihydrat gegeben, gefolgt von 3,25 ml (28,5 mMol) 30 %-igem wässerigem Wasserstoffperoxid. Nach Rühren für 18 Stunden wird das Reaktionsgemisch zwischen Methylenchlorid und Wasser verteilt. Die organische Phase wird mit Wasser und Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und schließlich eingeengt unter Erhalt von 2,9 g eines weißen Feststoffes. Der Feststoff wird durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (6:1 Essigsäureethylester :-Hexan) gereinigt unter Erhalt von 2,1 g (68 % Ausbeute) der Titelverbindung, die bei 91-93ºC schmilzt.

Der Feststoff wird durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (5:1, Essigsäureethylester:Hexan) gereinigt unter Erhalt von 6,0 g (47 %) des Produkts, das bei 38-40ºC schmilzt.

- Zu einem gerührten Gemisch von 12,4 g (48,6 mMol) von 1-Acetyl-4-n-butylamino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin, 0,8 g (2,4 mMol) Natriumwolframat, 85 ml Methanol und 20 ml Wasser werden bei 0ºC 19,9 ml (195 mMol) 30 %-iges wässeriges Wasserstoffperoxid gegeben. Nach Rühren für 1 Stunde bei 0ºC wird das Reaktionsgemisch sich auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen lassen und für weitere 2,5 Stunden gerührt. Essigsäureethylester wird zugegeben und die organische Phase wird dann mit Wasser und Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und eingeengt. Das Rohprodukt wird durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (12:2:1, Essigsäureethylester:Hexan:Methanol) gereinigt unter Erhalt von 4,8 g (37 %) der Titelverbindung als ein klares Öl.

- Zu einer Lösung von 1-Cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl-4-chlormethylbenzoat (4,8 g, 11,8 mMol) in 35 ml N,N-Dimethylformamid werden bei 55ºC Natriumcarbonat (3,4 g, 32,4 mMol) und Hydroxylaminhydrochlorid (470 mg, 6,8 mMol) gegeben. Das Gemisch wird bei 55-65ºC für 20 Stunden gerührt und anschließend eingeengt. Der Rückstand wird zwischen Methylenchlorid und Wasser verteilt. Die organische Schicht wird mit Wasser und Salzlösung gewaschen, über wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat getrocknet und schließlich eingeengt unter Erhalt von 6 g eines schweren Öls, das durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (7:1 Heptan:Essigsäureethylester) gereinigt wird. Das Produkt wird anschließend aus Ethanol umkristallisiert unter Erhalt von 2,3 g (50 % Ausbeute) der Titelverbindung als einen weißen Feststoff, der bei 163-166ºC schmilzt.

- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 6 wird die Titelverbindung aus N,N-Bis-[4(N,N-bis-(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)aminocarbonyl)benzyl]hydroxylamin hergestellt. Das Zwischenprodukt wird aus N,N-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)-4-chlormethylbenzamid und Hydroxylamin hergestellt.
- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 6 wird die Titelverbindung aus N,N-Bis-[2-(N,N-bis-(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)aminocarbonyl)ethyl]hydroxylamin hergestellt. Dieses Zwischenprodukt wird aus N,N-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)acrylamid und Hydroxylamin hergestellt.
- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wird die Titelverbindung aus 10,0 g (59 mMol) 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidin-4-onoxim und 11,8 g (59 mMol) Dodecanal in einer Ausbeute von 15,0 g eines farblosen Öls hergestellt.

- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wird die Titelverbindung aus 15,0 g (75 mMol) 1-Methoxy-2,2,6,6- tetramethylpiperidin-4-onoxim und 12,9 g (70 mMol) Dodecanal in einer Ausbeute von 10,5 g (40 %) eines weißen Feststoffes nach Reinigung durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (1:1, Heptan:Essigsäureethylester), der nach Umkristallisation aus Heptan bei 52-53ºC schmilzt, hergestellt.

- Gemäß dem allgemeinen Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wird die Titelverbindung aus 16,5 g (55 mMol) 1-Octyloxy-2,2,6,6- tetramethylpiperidin-4-onoxim und 9,2 g (50 mMol) Dodecanal in einer Ausbeute von 9,0 g (35 %) als ein klares Öl nach Reinigung durch Blitzchromatographie an Kieselgel (60:40, Heptan:Essigsäureethylester) hergestellt.

- Dieses Beispiel erläutert die lichtstabilisierende Wirkung der vorliegenden Stabilisatoren.
- Polypropylen ( Himont Profax 6501)-Pulver, stabilisiert mit 0,2 Gew.-% 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyhydrozimtsäure-n-octadecylester, wird sorgfältig mit der ausgewiesenen Additivmenge vermischt. Die vermischten Materialien werden dann in einer Zweiwalzenmühle bei 182ºC für 5 Minuten verarbeitet, wonach das stabilisierte Polypropylen in Folienform ausgewalzt wird und abkühlen lassen. Das ausgewalzte Polypropylen wird dann in Stücke geschnitten und mit einer hydraulischen Presse bei 250ºC und 1,2 x 10&sup6; Pa in 0,127 mm Folien druckverpreßt. Die Proben werden in einer Fluoreszenzsonnenlicht/Schwarzlichtkammer (FS/BL) bis zum Defekt belichtet. Als Defekt wird die Anzahl an Stunden festgelegt, die erforderlich ist, um 0,5 der Carbonylextinktion durch Infrarotspektroskopie an den belichteten Folien zu erreichen. - Die Grundformulierung umfaßt unstabilisiertes Polypropylen neuer Technologie ( Profax 6501, Himont) mit 0,10 Gew.-% Calciumstearat. Der Versuchsstabilisator wird mit Lösungsmittel auf dem Propylen in einer Methylenchloridlösung vermischt. Nach Entfernen des Lösungsmittels durch Verdampfen unter vermindertem Druck wird die stabilisierte Harzformulierung bei 100 U/min aus einem Extruder mit 2,54 cm Durchmesser bei 280ºC extrudiert.
- Nach jeder der ersten und fünften Extrusionen wurden Harzpellets in 3,2 mm starke Platten bei 193ºC druckverformt und der Gelbindex (YI) des Prüfstücks wurde gemäß ASTM D-1925 bestimmt. Niedrige YI-Werte zeigen geringe Vergilbung an. Zusätzlich wird die Schmelzflußrate (in Gramm/10 Minuten) gemäß ASTM D-1238 an den Pellets nach den ersten und fünften Extrusionen gemessen. Eine Schmelzflußrate, die nach der fünften Extrusion näher zur Schmelzflußrate nach der ersten Extrusion liegt, würde einen überlegenen Wirkungsgrad an Verfahrensstabilisierung bei Polypropylen anzeigen.
- Die beispielhaften Verbindungen stellen gute Verfahrensstabilisierung für Polypropylen, wie aus den Schmelzfluβratenwerten ersichtlich, bereit.
- Ein wärmehärtbarer Acrylemaillelack, auf der Grundlage eines Bindemittels von 70 Gew.-% 2-Hydroxyethylacrylat, Butylacrylat, Methylmethacrylat, Styrol und Acrylsäure und 30 Gew.-% eines Melaminharzes in Gegenwart eines sauren Katalysators, p-Toluolsulfonsäure, Dinonylnaphthalindisulfonsäure oder Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure wird formuliert, so daß er 2 Gew.-%, bezogen auf den Harzfeststoff eines Benzotriazol-Ultraviolettabsorbers und eine wirksam stabilisierende Menge des zu prüfenden gehinderten Amin-Lichtstabilisators einschließt.
- Mit handelsüblichem Epoxidharz grundierte 4" x 12" (10,16 cm x 30,48 cm) Platten ( Uniprime von Advanced Coatings Technology) werden mit einer silbermetallic Grundschicht zu einer Stärke von etwa 0,8 mil (0,023 mm) sprühbeschichtet und für 3 Minuten luftgetrocknet. Der stabilisierte wärmehärtbare Acrylharzemaillelack wird dann auf die grundierte Platte in einer Stärke von etwa 0,049 mm aufgesprüht. Nach 15 Minuten Lufttrocknen werden die beschichteten Platten für 30 Minuten bei 121ºC eingebrannt.
- Nach Lagerung für eine Woche in einem luftklimatisierten Raum werden die beschichteten Platten in einer QUV- Belichtungsvorrichtung gemäß dem Testverfahren ASTM G-53/77 bewittert. Bei diesem Test werden die Proben in wiederholten Cyclen von 4 Stunden in einer feuchten Atmosphäre bei 50ºC und dann für 8 Stunden unter UV-Licht bei 70ºC bewittert. Die Platten werden in dem QUV für 1500 Stunden belichtet. Die 20º-Glanzwerte der Platten werden vor und nach Belichtung bestimmt.
- Der Glanzverlust der stabilisierten Platten ist beträchlich geringer als der unstabilisierter Kontrollplatten.

Carbonylgruppe an das N-Atom gebunden ist.
2. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, worin R und R&sub1; jeweils
Methyl bedeuten.
3. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, worin E Wasserstoff,
Hydroxyl, Alkyl mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, Allyl,
Benzyl, Alkanoyl mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, Alkoxy mit 1 bis
12 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cyclohexyloxy oder α-Methylbenzyloxy
darstellt.
4. Verbindung nach Anspruch 3, worin E Wasserstoff,
Hydroxyl, Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, Allyl, Benzyl,
Acetyl, Methoxy, Heptyloxy, Octyloxy, Nonyloxy oder
Cyclohexyloxy darstellt.
5. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Formel I n 1,
2, 3 oder 4 ist, wenn n 1 ist, ist T Alkyl mit 1 bis 18
Kohlenstoffatomen, Benzyl oder Alkoxycarbonyl(C&sub2;-C&sub4;-alkyl) mit 4
bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, wenn n 2 ist, ist T Alkylen mit 2
bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder p-Xylylen, wenn n 3 ist, ist T
Glyceryl und wenn n 4 ist, ist T Pentaerythrityl.
6. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Formel I n 1
oder 2 ist, wenn n 1 ist, ist T Alkyl mit 1 bis 12
Kohlenstoffatomen, Benzyl oder Alkoxycarbonylethyl mit 4 bis 15
Kohlenstoffatomen, und wenn n 2 ist, ist T Alkylen mit 4 bis
8 Kohlenstoffatomen.
7. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Formel II G&sub3;
eine direkte Bindung darstellt, G&sub4; Wasserstoff ist, m 1 oder
2 ist, wenn m 1 ist, ist G&sub2; Alkyl mit 1 bis 12
Kohlenstoffatomen oder Phenyl und wenn m 2 ist, ist G&sub2; Alkylen mit 3 bis
8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Phenylen.
8. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Formel III X
und X&sub1; gleich sind und R&sub4; und R&sub5; jeweils Wasserstoff sind.
9. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, wobei in Formel IV L
und L&sub1; gleich sind und -CO-CH&sub2;- oder -CO-Phenylen-
darstellen.
10. Verbindung der Formel I, II, III oder IV nach
Anspruch 1, worin E Wasserstoff, Alkyl mit 1 bis 4
Kohlenstoffatomen, Acetyl, Alkoxy mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen,
Cyclohexyloxy darstellt, R und R&sub1; jeweils Methyl bedeuten, n
1 ist, T Benzyl ist, G&sub3; eine direkte Bindung darstellt, G&sub4;
Wasserstoff bedeutet, m 1 oder 2 ist, wenn m 1 ist, ist G&sub2;
Alkyl mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen oder Phenyl und wenn m 2
ist, ist G&sub2; Alkylen mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen oder
Phenylen, X und X&sub1; gleich und
sind, mit dem Sauerstoffatom an den Piperidinylring

11. Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, nämlich

α-Phenyl-N-(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidin-4-yl)nitron,
α-Phenyl-N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)nitron,
α,α'-p-Phenylen-N,N'-[(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-
4-yl)nitron],
N-Benzyl-N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yliden)amin-N-oxid,
α-n-Propyl-N-(1-cyclohexyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)nitron,

13. Zusammensetzung, umfassend
(a) ein organisches Material, das oxidativem,
thermischem oder von harter Strahlung ausgelöstem Abbau unterliegt
und
(b) mindestens eine Verbindung nach Anspruch 1.
14. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 13, wobei das
organische Material ein Polyolefin darstellt.
15. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 13, wobei das
organische Material Polypropylen oder ein Acrylharz darstellt.
16. Verwendung einer Verbindung nach Anspruch 1 zur
Stabilisierung eines organischen Materials gegen oxidativen,
thermischen oder durch harte Strahlung ausgelösten Abbau.
