in Betracht kommt.Process for briquetting brown coal Briquetting brown coal
is to be carried out according to the patent 594 789 in such a way that the raw coal under
the desired final moisture content of the briquettes and then dried down
pressing by moistening with finely divided water to this final moisture content
is brought. The degree of dryness at which the raw coal dries out depends on it
is ended, as is the amount of water used for rewetting
the decisive properties of the coal to be briquetted, the special features
of the company and the requirements of the trade. In all cases, however, remains
The aim and effect of the process is to facilitate and improve the pressing process
the nature of the briquettes, primarily increasing their weather resistance
comes into consideration.
According to the invention, the drying is now intended for certain lignites
the raw coal driven to the extreme, d. H. the coal to full
Dehydration are heated, after which the completely dehydrated briquetting before
the pressing is moistened with such a small amount of water that the
Moisture content of the pressed material below the moisture content otherwise usual for briquettes
lies. This way it becomes not only water and weather resistant, but
also won a particularly high-temperature briquette.
When carrying out the invention, there is the possibility that the
if necessary, amount of water to be added to completely dewatered briquetting material before pressing
is chosen so low that it corresponds to the water content of the air with which the briquetting
comes into contact on its way from the dryer to the press, can be removed.
According to an older patent, briquettable lignite is said to be among the
when briquetting the usual water content of 13 to i 8%, dried down
and before pressing with steam up to one also below the usual one
lying water content are moistened. The borderline case of complete drainage
of the briquetting material was not provided for in this proposal, but is essential
Feature of the invention and the distinctive difference from the subject of the older
Patents, since with certain brown coals the complete dehydration of the coal is required
their rewetting and pressing according to the invention
than necessary
has proven to be able to use the briquettes made from them to a completely sufficient extent
the tendency to swell on contact with water or in humid air
to take. This applies to Vera 's various lignite deposits in central Germany
to, for example, for parts of the lignite stored in the Geiseltal, their swellability
is so large that it is known by overdrying and rewetting
Process cannot be processed into really weather-resistant briquettes.
