Description
Process for the extraction of high-quality asphalt It is already known oils containing asphalt, e.g. B. from distillation residues asphalt-based or mixed-basic oils, i.e. oils containing asphalt and paraffin, which. Asphalt to gain by the fact that the oils with a multiple amount of a saturated one liquid hydrocarbon, e.g. B. a hydrogen-rich gasoline or one liquefied hydrocarbons which are gaseous at ordinary temperature, such as Butane, propane or ethane, mixes and separates the asphalt precipitated as a result. If a liquefied hydrocarbon mixture is used for this, it has a considerable Share of ethane, one achieves a very good asphalt-precipitating effect, but resins and oils are often precipitated together with the asphalt, so that the asphalt obtained has a deep softening point. One of those Asphalt subsequently with regard to its hardness degree through heat treatment improve, is very difficult and disadvantageous, because uni a part of the precipitated Separating oils and resins from the asphalt requires very high temperatures which lead to the asphalt becoming severely damaged even by partial splitting its disadvantage is changed. It has now been found that one can overcome these difficulties can be encountered if you convert the crude oils into asphalts of various degrees of hardness in the Way that one separates the precipitation step by step by means of different liquid Hydrocarbons with decreasing boiling points or their mixtures with separation of the products received in each case.
The liquefied hydrocarbons which are gaseous at ordinary temperature and are already mentioned in the introduction, such as pentane, butane, propane or ethane or mixtures of these, are very suitable for carrying out the process. For example, a liquefied gas mixture is used in the first stage, which consists essentially of pentane, butane or propane or mixtures of these, e.g. B. of butane and propane, and then allows a liquid consisting essentially of propane or ethane or both to act in the second stage. This can be done in such a way that the mixture of oil and precipitant obtained in the first stage is mixed with the second precipitant immediately after the precipitated asphalt has been separated off, or in such a way that the first precipitant is added before the second precipitant is added Separating precipitant by evaporation. The asphalt obtained in the second stage is significantly more difficult than that obtained in the first stage, in particular with regard to its degree of hardness or softening point. If necessary, all of the second 'stage can also be followed by one or more further stages. The precipitation agents can act at an ordinary or moderately elevated temperature.
In addition to or in place of the mentioned precipitants also other hydrocarbons known per se as precipitation agents or their gel niches, z. B. hydrogen-rich gasoline or liquefied petrol, gaseous at ordinary temperature unsaturated hydrocarbons, are used.
It succeeds according to the present process, in particular from crude Petroleum, distillation, cracking or hydrogenation residues by using the above various types of asphalt with no difficulty to win for yourself. This is of great advantage because the requirements which are placed on the nature of the asphalt are very different. So For example, the electrical industry needs an asphalt with high adhesive properties, a high softening point is not absolutely necessary. As an anti-rust agent the asphalt must also have a high degree of adhesion, and it may also be under the influence of the ati-nosphere do not become brittle, so that the penetration of water is prevented can prevent the metal parts to be protected. Generally these have asphalts a low degree of hardness. In the construction industry, on the other hand, asphalts are desirable that have a high softening point or a high degree of hardness.
If the types of asphalt obtained by the present process do not yet meet the respective requirements, they can easily be given the desired properties by mixing them with other types of asphalt obtained by the same or a different process.
H. It is known that the precipitating capacity of gasoline for asphalt bodies contained in crude oils increases with falling boiling limits and that certain liquefied hydrocarbons have an even greater precipitating capacity for asphalt bodies than benzene. From this, however, it was not to be inferred that a step-by-step treatment using various hydrocarbons with decreasing boiling limits or their mixtures for each step and with the separation of the precipitated substances after each step succeeds in obtaining various high-quality asphalt products that meet the requirements of the various asphalt consumers correspond to these or can be easily adapted . H.
- It is also known to dissolve kohasplialt or petroleum residues in carbon disulfide and to precipitate asphalt by adding hexane. Further substances can then be precipitated from the solution obtained after separation of the asphalt by means of alcohol. However, these further substances also include considerable amounts of non-asphaltic, in particular oily substances, which deteriorate the asphalt obtained in this stage quite considerably, so that no marketable products can be obtained here.
Finally, it has already been proposed to precipitate asphalt to be carried out in stages in such a way that nian always uses the same precipitant and the time, temperature or amount of the precipitant changed. In contrast, enabled it the present t'el process in which the type of precipitant in the specified Way is changed, the asphalts contained in the starting materials according to their To fractionate nature much further, so that also this one known methods over the present invention have very significant advantages having.
The well-known fractional precipitation of various components offered a hydrocarbon mixture with the help of one and the same additional liquid naturally no clues for the present procedure in which with the help several precipitant asphalts with different degrees of hardness can be obtained.
Example i A distillation residue from asphalt-containing German crude oil is mixed with 4 to 5 times the volume of liquid butane and then the mass is intimately mixed at + 5o ' C iiii under the pressure that is set in this process, whereupon the whole thing is set down abandoned asphalt. The asphalt has a softening point of 70 to 75 ' and can be used, for example, as road asphalt.
The butane-01 mixture above the asphalt is, after being separated from the asphalt, mixed with 4 to 5 times the volume of a mixture consisting of 60 '/ "liquefied propane and 401 /" liquefied ethane and mixed well. Here, an asphalt precipitates which has a softening point of 3o to 351 and can be used as a rust preventive. B ice p y 1 2 A by pressure hydrogenation of lignite acid at 450 'in the presence of Molvbdäl-is' generated liquefaction product is separated by distillation into gasoline, middle oil and a "boiling over 325 residue. The latter provides a very hard asphalt when treated with 3 times the weight of a paraftinic luminous oil in an amount of 81 /. After completion of the separate light oil, the oil of 3 times the amount by weight of a 'boiling between 30 and 70 paraffinic gasoline is beliandelt, - #, a less high molecular weight type of asphalt precipitated vodurch another 80 /. After the petrol has been distilled off, the oil is treated with 3 times the amount by weight of propane at 40 'under the pressure that is established here. In the process, a soft, resinous asphalt is deposited.
The thus obtained 01 has Shin; erölcharakter and can be achieved by further treatment, eg. B. with hydrogen, under a pressure of 100 to 500 atm and at temperatures of 35o to 450 ' in the presence of catalysts, such as heavy metal sulfides, improve its properties.
