Der Bolzen b, welcher das eigentliche Bindeglied für das An- und Abkuppeln des Viehes bildet, befindet sich an der dem Thiere umgelegten Kette und wird mit seinen beiden aus der Zeichnung ersichtlichen Spitzen in der körnerartigen Vertiefung der Kolben c und d festgehalten. ' Soll nun irgend ein einzelnes Stück Vieh losgekuppelt werden, so bewegt man den am Kolben d angebrachten Gewichtshebel g in einem entsprechenden, rechtwinklig verlaufenden Schlitz (bajonnetartig) nach oben und zurück; durch diese Manipulation verliert der Schliefskolben b auf dieser Seite seine Unterstützung und fällt durch sein Gewicht durch eine entsprechende Oeffhung des Rohres r heraus und läfst das Vieh frei. Auf ähnliche Weise kann nun auch das Loskuppeln von sämmtlichem in einer Reihe aufgestellten Vieh geschehen. Die Zugstange s steht nämlich mit sämmtlichen Kolben c mittelst Stiftschrauben k in fester Verbindung. Wird nun die Zugstange nach erfolgtem Umlegen des mit Zungen in diese eingreifenden Gewichtshebels herausgezogen (in der Zeichnung nach links), so werden dadurch sämmtliche Stifte k in den Schlitzen des Rohres r und damit auch die Kolben c nach derselben Richtung bewegt; hiermit wird, wie oben, ein Entkuppeln des Viehes bewirkt.
