Wie bereits im Patent 638 082 erläutert ist, wirken bei der ruhenden, d. h. rein elektrisch arbeitenden Wechselstrom-Wechselstrom-Umformung die Energiepulsationen des Einphasennetzes in voller Größe auf das Drehstromnetz zurück, und zwar bis zu den Generatoren des Kraftwerkes, d. h. die entnommenen Dreiphasenströme enthalten Wellen netzfremder Frequenz, während die WeI-len netzeigener Frequenz ein unsymmetrisches System bilden. Es ist nun bereits zur Behebung dieser für den Betrieb des Drehstromnetzes unangenehmen Nachteile im genannten Patent vorgeschlagen worden, parallel zu den Klemmen des Mehrphasennetzes einen umlaufenden Energiespeicher (Blindleistungsmaschine mit eigener oder zusätzlicher Schwungmasse) zu schalten. Soll das Drehstromnetz nur unwesentlich durch die Energiepulsationen beeinflußt werden, so ergibt sich die Forderung, daß die Reaktanz des Energiespeichers klein gegen die Reaktanz des Drehstromnetzes sein muß.
