Spark plug The subject of the invention is a spark plug in which
the electrodes are arranged and shaped to one another in such a way that the spark gap
essentially always the same despite the high temperature differences that occur
stays big.
This goal is achieved through a special design of the curvatures
the grounded electrode inserted into the body of the candle. This electrode will
provided in a known manner with two bends, and the end piece of the electrode
comes to rest in the axis extension of the other electrode. Are according to the invention
now the curvatures of the electrode between the attachment point and the free one
End chosen so that the expansion of one part brought about by the heating
of the electrode by .an expansion of the other part in the other direction
is compensated, whereby the spark gap maintains its length substantially.
Elektrode.
The drawings stand alone; Embodiment of the invention,
Fig. I is an elevation and partial section through .eiere spark plug, Fig. Leine

Electrode. ° - --The grounded electrode i i is at 12 in the edge of the support
inserted and has -a turn 13; which are not necessarily circular too
stone needs. At this curvature, which her open side against the. other electrode
8 shows, now follows: a curve 14, the open side of which
is directed away from the counter electrode B, so that at 15 merge into one another
Bends 713, 14 run in opposite directions. The bend 14
has .ein-en. @ shorter radius than the bend 13. For example, the
Radius - the latter being twice as large as' the radius of the bend 14.
The end piece 16 of the electrode connects tangentially to the bottom 14 and lies
-in the .Abstand 18, which represents the spark gap, the middle electrode 8
opposite to. The electrode wire i 1 is flattened at its free end. so,
that the flat surface is parallel to the end surface io of the electrode 8. Appropriate
the flattening is chosen so that a rounding 18 remains, which forms the bend
14 reinforced.
.elektrode 8 verbleibt.
Um eine solche Ausgleichwirkung in der
geerdeten Elektrode für größere Temperatur-
schwankungen zu. Herreichen, müssen die Halb-
messec der Abbiegungen bei der Erzeugung
der Elektrode genau berücksichtigt werden.
Die Temperatur der :geerdeten Elektrode i i

When the engine warms up, the bend 13 will expand and thereby tend to stretch in the direction of the arrow X or to become straight. The Bie4 gung i q. however, it also expands and stretches

Direction X ', and this creates a balance
for the expansion of the bend 13

To have such a balancing effect in the
grounded electrode for greater temperature
fluctuations too. The half-
messec of the turns in the generation
of the electrode must be taken into account.
The temperature of the: grounded electrode ii
is not the same over the entire length
towards the electrode. The heat-in & em-

the nozzle z into the body i and from here
