Kohle ist ein keramischer Körper und als solcher empfindlicher gegen Schläge und Biegungsbeanspruchungen wie z. B. Metall. Es sind deswegen für schnell fahrende Maschinen schon besondere Stromabnehmer geschafften worden, um die harten Schläge .der OberIeitungsaufhängung gegen die Kohle abzuschwächen. Diese meist innengefaßten Kohlenbügel haben eine stark verbreiterte Trägerarmatur und Auflaufflächen starker Neigung,- um den Schlag möglichst abzuleiten. Es hat sich herausgestellt, daß die Wirkung der Schläge noch: weiterhin gemildert werden kann, wenn die seitlichen Flächen mit ielastischen Masseen, z. B. Gummi, versehen werden; die Auflage muß natürlich so stark sein, daß sie eine gute Elastizität bekommt, und wird am besten ,fest mit der Kohle verbunden, damit sich keine Luft fangen kann.
