Description

Process for the production of smudge-proof and weatherproof paints For the production of simple and cheap exterior paints one uses a lot Lime dispersions. Good white paints are obtained here, but only to a limited extent Time are smudge-proof and weatherproof. This happens after about half a year Lime mill paints can be easily chalked, which gradually develops until it drips off or drips off. Flaking increases. For the production of colored wall coatings, however, is sufficient The binding power of milk of lime, especially to achieve deeper shades and more weatherproof Paints, not off. Attempts have already been made to eliminate these disadvantages by that one stirs linseed oil or stand oil or linoleate into the milk of lime dispersions admitted. But even these paints only show a limited shelf life.

It has now been found that paints made from lime-fast Colors are produced using aqueous solutions of cellulose ethers, then smudge-proof and weatherproof paints result if you give them aqueous dispersions of alkaline earth hydroxides added. The paints obtained in this way can still be used Drying agents, resins, oils, fillers, water-repellent agents such as paraffin, waxes, Wax emulsions. Cellulose ethers are used for the present process for example in question: Oxäthyhuethylcellulose, cellulose dimethyl ether, cellulose monomethyl ether, Cellulose monoethyl ether, cellulose digly, koläther, cellulose dioxäthansulfosaures Sodium cellulose divinyl ether. The relationship between earth colors and binders can be changed to a large extent, depending on whether the colors are used as a base or top coat or prepared for a single painting. The colors are soaked with water, poured off the excess water, then z. B. with an aqueous Oxäthylmethylcellulose made into a paste, and for this sump lime (4o0 / 0 Ca (OH) 2) is given z. B. in the following Quantities: 50 parts by weight of 4% oxethyneethyl cellulose, 50 parts by weight soaked white lime, 100 to 60o parts by weight soaked lime-resistant paints. This quickly flowing paint is ready to use for particularly fine nuances it can still be passed through a wire mesh. Fiber and other fillers can be added as desired.

It was surprising that when using these masses you wipe and received weatherproof paints, as earth-colored paints that were only made using aqueous solutions of cellulose ethers are produced after a short time from the rain be dissolved and washed away.

A precondition for the success of a good coat of paint is that it is everywhere there is solid ground. Loose-. sedentary parts of old paintwork, dust and dirt must be removed thoroughly before painting. In cases where the Walls with greasy lubricating oils must be treated with a soap solution with the addition of Ammonia and oxethane ethyl cellulose are washed off; in cases where there is blooming of salts on the wall or where there was a lot of alum should be included Water should be washed off vigorously to make the pores free of salts again. The plaster should be evenly absorbent so that the paint does not burn in. It is in many cases it is useful to moisten the plaster.
