Abstract
The band of multi-layer material comprises a core (4) including air inserted between upper (5) and lower (2) outer layers of material impermeable to liquid. These layers are connected in a sealed manner along two opposite edges of the core. The core includes a layer of fibrous synthetic and or honeycombed material (10,12). The outer layers have a greater width than the core so as to each comprise a marginal zone (2a,5a) jutting out laterally from the core. The multi-layer material can be wound around an axis extending laterally to the band so as to be packaged in a roll. Independent claims are included for a method of manufacturing the material and a device for implanting the manufacture.
