Hintergrund der ErfindungBackground of the invention
1. Gebiet der Erfindung1. Field of the invention
The Invention relates to lubricants, especially lubricating oils and before all a class of ashless and non-phosphorus wear additives, Anti-fatigue additives and extreme pressure additives derived from alkyl succinic acid hydrazides, namely from 4-alkyl-1,2-dihydropyridazine-3,6-diones are derived.
2. Beschreibung des einschlägigen Standes der Technik2. Description of the relevant state of the technique
Zinc dialkyl dithiophosphates (ZDDP) have been used to formulate oils for more than 50 years Anti-wear additives formulated. However, zinc dialkyldithiophosphates form ashes which are too formation of particles in the exhaust emissions of automobiles contributes the regulatory authorities seek to reduce emissions of zinc to the environment. Additionally stands Phosphor, which is also a component of ZDDP, is suspected of Limiting the lifetime of catalytic converters used in vehicles be used to reduce pollution. A limitation the particles and impurities that occur while using a machine Be formed is not only toxicological and ecological establish important, but also to maintain the anti-wear properties of the lubricating oil undiminished.
In Considering the above mentioned Disadvantages of the known zinc and phosphorus-containing additives were Made efforts to create additives for lubricating oils that are neither zinc still contain phosphorus, or these two components in substantially contain reduced amounts.

Allgemeine Synthese erfindungsgemäßer AdditiveGeneral synthesis of additives according to the invention
The general process for preparing the alkyl succinic acid hydrazides of the present invention involves charging a reaction vessel with an alkylsuccinic anhydride with a solvent which boils above 80 ° C and is capable of azeotroping the by-produced water. Of course, this solvent should not be reactive with all reactants and the product. Examples of such solvents include hydrocarbons such as heptane, decane and dodecane, and aromatic solvents such as toluene, tetralins and xylenes. The hydrazine hydrate is added slowly to the reaction vessel at an initial reaction temperature from room temperature to about 20 ° C. After completion of the addition of the hydrazine, the reaction medium may be exothermic at about 20 ° C to 30 ° C, depending on the amount of solvent present and the hydrazine used. Then, the reaction temperature is raised to reflux temperature to complete the reaction and remove the by-produced water. The solvent is then removed under reduced pressure or under vacuum to give the final product. If necessary, this product can be polish filtered. In the preparation of products based on monoalkyl or unsymmetrical hydrazines, such as methylhydrazine and phenylhydrazine, a small amount of a possible by-product may also be a hydrazine succinimide of the following structure wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are as described above. It is believed that this material, which may be present in the product as a minor component, also has anti-wear properties in lubricating fluids.
