Abrasive Cloths have always been made using proportionately
loosely spun waste yarn, especially cotton waste yarn, produced for the weft,
while the chain usually consists of thin, strong yarn. The use of waste yarn
is necessary to achieve the greatest possible absorbency, because abrasive cloths
should usually with a liquid, z. B. water, floating debris
Record as quickly and completely as possible. So far, abrasive cloths have been exclusive
produced as a smooth fabric, mainly in twill, linen or waffle weave.
But abrasive cloths in particular are subject to stress,
as it is hardly expected of any other tissue. Abrasive cloths should be

Warp threads. That is why it has already been proposed several times, through narrower positions
the warp threads in the middle of the cloth to gain reinforcement; but without
notable success. In addition to this stress, there is another high stress
due to friction on the surface to be scrubbed.
The novelty of the invention is that the cloth is completely
or is partly covered with yarn loops according to the type of terry cloth. Through this
the durability and absorbency of the abrasive cloth is increased significantly. It kicks
but also surprisingly in contrast to the previously known terry fabrics
no pulling out of the twine loops. The use of terry towels for cleaning purposes
one has because of the pulling out of the twine loops and the resulting snagging
considered inexpedient. However, this disadvantage occurs in accordance with the abrasive cloth
of the invention, because the yarn loops are not made from good yarn, but from
Waste yarn, which has a significantly lower tear strength than that
