Abstract

The bearing structure for shafts is intended, in particular, for clamping shafts of winding machines and comprises a bearing housing (4) which is supported in a fixed manner or in a manner which allows axial displacement and fixing and rotatably mounted in which is a carrier shaft (5) which, at its inner end, has a releasable and lockable receiving device (12; 13) for a facing end of a shaft. The receiving device (12; 13) has a receiving part (12) firmly connected to the carrier shaft (5) and having a shaped pocket (15) with an axial and a circumferential access opening (16; 17) for a coupling part on the end of a shaft and has a closure part (13) which can be displaced relative to the receiving part (12), rotates with the latter and, in a rotational position of the receiving part (12) intended for a shaft change, can be moved into the open position. In the open position, the closure part (13) frees the circumferential access opening (17) to the shaped pocket (15), in its closed position blocks the latter and, in interaction with a fixed stop (25) assigned to the bearing housing (4) returns automatically to its closed position as soon as the receiving part (12) leaves the rotational position intended for the shaft change. The receiving arrangement (12; 13) is surrounded by a protective housing (26) which is supported in a stationary manner on the bearing housing (4) when the carrier shaft (5) is rotating and can be displaced axially to a limited extent relative to the said housing when the carrier shaft (5) is stationary. The protective housing (26) and the closure part (13) are in mutual axial driving engagement and the closure part (13) interacts with the stop (25) via a cam part (23). <IMAGE>
