Description
In the case of telecommunications systems that work via wire, in particular in the case of telephone systems, it is often necessary in the subscriber stations to repeater for the transmitted or to attach received speech streams. Since the supply of such amplifiers with anodes or Heating voltages at the subscriber points would be associated with difficulties and also with high costs, so is one Always tried to get the batteries for such amplifiers in one of the telephone exchanges to be attached (central power supply).
It has therefore already been proposed to use both the anode and heating batteries for an amplifier located in a subscriber station from a central battery to dine. However, considerable technical difficulties arise here: The supply of the station amplifier with anode voltage works without any major difficulties in front of you, since these are high voltages and low currents, which the sometimes very long intermediate lines between subscriber and control center do not matter can have. However, it is very difficult to supply the station amplifier with heating current. These are low voltages and relatively strong currents caused by the line resistances suffer extremely strong voltage losses between the control center and the participant, so that some of the batteries installed in the headquarters work with heavy losses, sometimes the lead wires have to be dimensioned relatively strong. One already has Suggestions made for one of the supply voltages for the station amplifier alternating current to use, which is transformed, rectified and smoothed Avird at the participant. But this also includes relative inconvenient means that make setting up the subscriber stations more expensive.
The disadvantages mentioned are avoided by the invention. The idea of the invention is that for. the subscriber amplifier uses so-called glow amplifier tubes instead of filament tubes as was previously the case. Such tubes have the property that the two possible supply voltages, namely the glow voltage and the amplifier electrode voltage, are approximately the same size, namely in the order of magnitude of the usual power network voltages (150 to 250VoIt) 1 and that also the ones flowing in these supply circuits Currents are about the same size and relatively small, namely in the size of a few milliamperes. It can be both supply voltages over long cables from a central location from virtually lossless to the Ver: more tubes subscriber telephone introduce.
The drawing shows two exemplary embodiments of the invention: Fig. 1 shows one Basic circuit of the subject matter of the invention: In a central station I is located the supply battery 1 for the electrode voltages of the subscriber amplifier. This is located in subscriber set II and consists of a glow amplifier tube 2,
A voltage is applied to the pair of glow electrodes 5 from approximately 170 to 220 volts, which is tapped at the central battery 1. The amplifier anode 3 has a potential that is around 20 to 30 volts higher than that of the positive glow electrode. The useful streams are now generated in the central office in a microphone circuit 6 and via a transformer 7 given to the control grid circuit of the glow amplifier tube 2. That’s one thing End of the secondary coil of 7 with the control grid 4, the other end with the positive one Glow electrode connected. If necessary, also in the central office, if necessary but also at the participant, a grid bias battery 11 may be provided.
Of course, the primary side of the transformer 7 can be used instead of a microphone also with the output circuit of a central radio receiver (for radio distribution systems) be connected or with any other 'central news'. power source. The three supply voltages applied to the anode 3 and the two glow discharge electrodes 5 arrive, and the control voltage that comes to the control grid 4, are fed to the subscriber sets via the trunk lines 10. On the On the subscriber side there is a transformer 8 in the amplifier anode circuit, which the A loudspeaker 9 feeds message streams.
Fig. 2 shows a simplified transmission circuit in which one feed line is saved is. The lines 10 only consist of three individual wires that connect to the amplifier anodes 3 or the two glow discharge electrodes 5 lead. The control voltage In the present example, the microphone circuit 6 does not become a special one Transfer grid lead, but to one of the two leads to the glow electrode pair 5. In the subscriber device there is then a second transformer 12, its primary coil in the glow discharge circuit and its secondary coil between the positive glow electrode and the control grid 4 lies. In this arrangement, the glow current is therefore superimposed by the control current; however, this is not a disadvantage, but rather an advantage, because it is possible to reduce the amplifier current from the glow voltage to make it practically linearly dependent. So if you look for a correct polarity of the secondary side of the transformer 12 ensures the dependence of the amplifier current on the grid voltage Not only is it not impaired, but the degree of reinforcement is increased by stepping in the glow voltage fluctuations are still increased.
