Abstract

The device has two fixed mounted current connections (2,3), a non-linear electrical resistance, two electrodes (6,8) at a distance apart along one axis and a resistance body (7) consisting of a matrix with an embedded powder filler with varistor properties. The resistance body is made of a compound material that can be cold shaped and is compressed to form the non-linear electrical, resistance between the electrodes. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a method of manufacturing an inventive surge voltage arrester.
