Abstract

In a material feeder for a fibrous sheet production machine, having a nozzle and a central assembly with lower and upper arms, first and second central parts and carrier elements for a turbulence generator, (a) the central parts form the turbulence generator carrier elements only locally in the z-direction, (b) the central assembly forms a heating chamber through which fluid flows, such that the turbulence generator acts as a heat exchanger for transferring heat extracted from the introduced fiber suspension to the fluid; and (c) the central assembly is supported on a base via separated supports over the width of the machine. A material feeder (1) for a machine for producing fibrous sheets has a nozzle (4) extending transverse to the machine direction and having lower and upper walls (5, 6) extending across the width of the machine. A central assembly (7) has a lower arm (8) (formed by the lower nozzle wall or an associated carrier plate), a (preferably parallel) upper arm (9), a first central part (10) and a second central part (behind the first in the machine direction). The upper arm and the central parts arranged between the upper and lower arms form the carrier elements (12) of a turbulence generator (13.1). The novel features are that: (A) the two central parts form the carrier elements of turbulence generator(s) only locally in the z-direction; (B) the central assembly, together with the contained turbulence generator(s), forms at least one heating chamber (15) through which fluid (15) flows, such that the turbulence generator acts as a heat exchanger for extracting heat from the introduced fiber suspension (3, 3.1) and transferring the heat to the fluid (16); and (C) the central assembly is supported on a base (18) via multiple (preferably two) separated supports (17) distributed over the width of the machine.
