Um für die Strom-Ab- oder -Zuleitung an Commutatoren Bürsten anwenden zu können, die aus möglichst feinem (Kupfer-) Draht bestehen, ohne dafs diese feinen Drähte durch Rücklaufen des Commutators, durch Hängenbleiben an der Putzwolle beim Reinigen der Commutatorfläche oder durch sonstige zufällige Einwirkung aus ihrer parallelen und gestreckten Lage gebracht werden, kommt folgende Construction der Bürste zur Anwendung, die trotz der Einschliefsung der feinen Drähte der Bürste ihre Nachgiebigkeit zur genauen Auflage auf der Commutatorfläche erhalten soll. Zu diesem Zwecke werden die feinen Kupferdrähte α in einer Scheide untergebracht, die oben und unten, das ist also die breite Seite der Bürste, aus dünnen Kupferplatten b besteht; diese werden an den Seiten, also an den schmalen Seiten der Bürste, durch Streifen c aus feiner Gaze von Messing oder Kupfer verbunden, so dafs eine die feinen Drähte auf allen vier Seiten umschliefsende, aber noch federnde Scheide entsteht. Die aus dem unteren Ende dieser Scheide vorstehenden feinen Drähte werden durch Abschleifen zugespitzt, während am oberen Ende Scheide und leitende Drähte zusammengelöthet werden. Die so hergestellte Bürste wird in die Oese d des Bürstenhalters eingesteckt und durch Schraube e gehalten.
