Abstract

For eliminating the wall film flow in an inlet port (1) by simple but effective measures, the valve seat insert (6) of the inlet valve (2) has an annular necking (8), reducing the flow cross-section like a funnel and forming a sharp edge (9). The said necking is designed so that the liquid fuel carried off from the sharp edge (9) by the flow passes to the rear side (3) of the valve disc (4) of the inlet valve (2) from where it is moved by the flow in the direction of the boundary of the valve disc (4), which now serves as sharp edge. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a valve seat ring for a mixture Intake valve of an internal combustion engine, i. H. a machine at the mixture formation in a carburetor or by fuel injection into the intake manifold or the inlet duct.

It is known that there is such an internal combustion engine Risk of precipitation of fuel especially on relative cold walls of intake manifold and inlet duct. This wall film picture manure has adverse effects on the formation of a homogeneous Air-fuel mixture and thus on the efficiency and Exhaust gas composition of the machine.

To eliminate this wall film exists in the patent literature tur - only DE-OS 31 51 683, F02M 29/06 should be mentioned here - a variety of proposals that use a funnel-like insert with itself in the direction of flow free diameter is common. This is supposed to wall film migrating under the influence of the mixture flow catch and also zer under the effect of the mixture flow be dusted.

Einlaßkanal erneut Kraftstoff niederschlägt, also wiederum eine Wandfilmbildung erfolgt. The known devices of this type have the disadvantage that they catch the wall film made in front of them and the  Atomize the collected fuel, but do not prevent it can that in adjacent areas of the intake manifold or Inlet channel again precipitates fuel, so again one Wall film formation takes place.

The invention is based, with simple means the task an effective solution to the problem of wall film formation create.

This object is achieved in one Valve seat ring with the characteristic features of the main valve Describe advantageous embodiments of the invention the subclaims.

The invention also works with a funnel-like one Reduction of the flow cross section to form an ab tear edge for liquid fuel, but this tear lies edge as a result of integration in the valve seat ring in the immediate vicinity Near the inlet valve. This is in association with an ent speaking orientation of the wall facing the flow Confiscation a transport of the liquid going there Fuel through the flow to the back of the inlet valve allows its temperature due to the proximity of the combustion chamber is relatively high and from the outset a relatively sharp, serving as a tear-off edge.

The invention also offers the manufacturing technology before part that the defined circumferential confiscation in manufacturing the valve seat ring can be molded, so that additional inserts to form the tear-off edge or difficult shape conditions in the respective inlet duct.

An embodiment of the invention is described below the drawing explains a vertical section through the Cylinder head of an internal combustion engine in the area of an inlet reproduces channel.

The inlet valve 1 is assigned the inlet valve 2 , which is designed in the usual way as a cam-operated lift valve and is shown in the drawing in the open state. In the closed state, the inlet valve 2 lies with the rear side 3 of its valve plate 4 sealing against the seat surface 5 of the valve seat ring 6 , which is inserted into a corresponding recess at the end of the inlet channel 1 and fastened there.

For example, by means of a fuel injection valve, which is not shown, since it is known, fuel is added to the combustion air flowing in the inlet duct 1 to form a fuel-air mixture. When the mixture hits the relatively cold boundary wall of the inlet channel 1, there is a risk that fuel in liquid form will separate out to form a wall film 7 , which will have a negative effect on the mixture formation. To eliminate this wall film, which migrates under the influence of the flow in the inlet channel 1 in the direction of the valve plate 4 , the valve seat ring 6 forms the tear-off edge 9 via the current retraction 8 , so that liquid fuel originating from the wall film 7 according to the arrows from the stream mung is carried away. The retraction 8 forms a funnel-like reduction in the flow cross-section, since it has the shape of a right-angled triangle in cross section, the hypotenuse 10 of which faces the flow. This hypotenuse 10 is also oriented so that the coming from the tear-off 9 coming liquid fuel to the rear 3 of the inlet valve 2 , from where it also in the sense of the arrows drawn there by the flow to the now effective tear-off edge of the valve plate 4 is transported. From there, the entrained fuel goes directly into the hot combustion chamber, where it quickly contributes to the mixture formation.

In the example shown, the annular indentation 8 is located on the inflow-side end of the valve seat ring 6 facing away from the valve seat 5 , as a result of which very simple manufacture of the indentation 8 is ensured.
