Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for producing a three-dimensional object according to the preamble of the claim 1 or a method according to the preamble of claim 9.
Such a device or such a method is known under the term "stereography" and can, like described, for example, in EP-A-0 171 069 layer-by-layer solidification of a liquid, photopolymeri sizable material by means of a bundled laser beam respectively. This method can also be done by sintering of powder can be carried out by means of the laser beam (see EP-A-0 287 657). In all cases the problem occurs on that, for example, due to vibrations, aging of the Laser or other effects a misalignment of the Beam or a deterioration in beam quality and takes place and thus the manufacturing accuracy is deteriorating.
It is therefore an object of the invention to ensure constant quality ensure in the manufacture of the object.
This object is achieved by a device with the features of claim 1 or by a method with solved the features of claim 9.
According to the beam used for solidification as directly as possible above the surface of the Layer of material, i.e. immediately before acting on it Material, preferably a plurality of over the layer distributed points measured and with reference values compared. This can be a possible dust or Misalignment of the optics, a defect in the optical or electronic components for adjusting the beam and a beam change due to signs of aging determined, displayed and corrected if necessary.
Von den Figuren zeigen:The invention is further illustrated by exemplary embodiments len described with reference to the figures. From the figures demonstrate:

Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment of the sensor.
The representation of the device according to the invention in Fig. 1 shows a layer 1 of a solidifiable by electromagnetic radiation material, such as a polymerizable liquid or paste or a sinterable powder material, and a disposed over this layer 1 device 2 for solidifying the material of the layer 1 in the produced Corresponding positions. The consolidation device 2 has a radiation source 3 in the form of a laser, which directs a bundled light beam 4 onto a deflection device 5 , by means of which the light beam 4 can be deflected to the desired locations of the layer 1 . For this purpose, the deflection device is connected to a control unit 6 for the corresponding control of the deflection device 5 .
Between the radiation source 3 and the deflection device 5 , a modulator 7 and a variable focus unit 8 are arranged in the light beam 4 , which are also connected to the control unit 6 . The modulator can be designed, for example, as an acousto-optical, electro-optical or mechanical modulator and serves as a "switch" for switching through or interrupting the beam 4 . The variable focus unit 8 serves to change the bundling of the beam 4 .
Between the deflecting device 5 and the layer 1 there is also a sensor 9 which can be moved in a plane parallel to and preferably directly above the layer 1 to any point above the layer 1 by means of the positioning device 10 shown in FIG. 2. The positioning device 10 is designed as an x, y positioning device, the sensor 9 being displaceable in a first X direction along the top of a stripper 11 extending in the X direction over the layer 1 , which in turn is in the Y direction over the Layer 1 can be shifted to set a desired layer thickness of the material. According to another embodiment, the sensor 9 can also be positioned independently of the wiper. The output of the sensor is connected to the control unit 6 .
Der Durchmesser der Blendenöffnungen 17, 20 ist etwa 20 bis 50 µm, vorzugsweise etwa 35 µm.A first embodiment of the sensor 9 is shown in FIG. 3. The sensor 12 according to FIG. 3 is designed as a quadrant sensor with a light-sensitive element arranged in each quadrant in the form of a photodiode 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 . The photodiode 15 of a quadrant is covered by a radiation-impermeable cover, for example a metal plate 16 , in the middle of which there is an aperture 17 . According to a second embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the sensor 9 is designed as a single sensor with only a single field, a light-sensitive element in the form of a photodiode 18 being arranged in the field, which in turn has a radiation-opaque cover, for example a metal plate 19 , to is covered on a central aperture 20 . The diameter of the diaphragm openings 17 , 20 is approximately 20 to 50 μm, preferably approximately 35 μm.
In operation, the laser beam 4 is first measured in terms of its position, power and its diameter. The position is determined, for example, by means of the sensor 9 shown in FIG. 3 in that the sensor 9 is positioned at a specific defined X, Y position and the deflection device 5 is controlled by the control unit 6 so that the deflected beam 4 detects the sensor 9 sweeps and thereby migrates from the field of photodiode 12 to that of photodiode 13 . The output signals emitted by both photodiodes are compared; in the case of equality, the position of the beam 4 corresponds exactly to the transition between the two photodiode arrays and thus the center position of the sensor 9 . The same measurement is also carried out for the transition from photodiode 12 to photodiode 14 . By comparing the position data obtained with the corresponding position specification for the deflection device 5 , it is determined whether the control for the beam 4 is correct or whether there is a misalignment. In the latter case, a correction of the control in the control unit 6 or a new adjustment of the device is carried out.
The described position measurement is carried out by moving the sensor 9 to positions distributed over the layer surface 1 by means of the positioning device 10 at any point within the exposure field, so that the positioning accuracy of the hardening device 2 can be determined exactly. However, it is also possible to measure only at selected points, for example at 2 points, in order to determine a global drift, for example due to temperature changes. This can in turn be compensated for by appropriate correction of the control unit 6 or the control software stored therein.
The power of the beam 4 is made by direct evaluation of the output signals of the photodiodes 12 , 13 and 14 , the amplitude of which corresponds to the power. By comparison with target values, an error in the solidification device 2 can again be determined, for example dusting of the optics, aging or even failure of optical or electronic components.
For the measurement of the diameter or the focus of the beam 4 , the deflection device 5 and / or the Positioniervor device 10 is controlled so that the deflected beam 4, the aperture 17 of the sensor of FIG. 3 or the aperture 20 of the sensor of FIG. 4 sweeps in two coordinate directions. As a result, the intensity profile of the beam 4 is scanned and the focus or diameter of the beam 4 is calculated from the intensity data obtained from the profile. This measurement can be carried out in the entire exposure field or only at selected points, for example in connection with the power measurement. By comparison with corresponding target values, a deviation can again be determined, for example, due to the aging of the laser or a misalignment of the optical system. In this case, a correction can be made to a certain extent by changing the focus by actuating the variable focus unit 8 via the control unit 6 .
When using the sensor 9 shown in FIG. 4, the position and power of the beam 4 is determined on the basis of calculations, specifically the position by determining the intensity maximum and the power by integrating the profile. Such calculation methods are known so that they do not have to be explained in more detail here.
After the setting and measurement of the beam 4 , a material layer 1 is applied and solidified in the usual way by targeted irradiation of the layer 1 by means of the deflected beam 4 at the points corresponding to the object.
The measurement of the beam in the manner described above can before the creation of an object, but also between the Solidification of individual layers or in larger ones Distances, e.g. B. on a daily basis. Ascertained Deviations from permissible values can also occur on a Display device are shown.
