Abstract

The process for producing a currency note which is secured against forgery by photocopying comprises making the note with an additional inlay which cannot be copied by photocopying. The presence of this inlay in the note can easily be checked by anyone. The note also has a cutout or window (2) at one or more points. This cutout may be in the form of a circle, rectangle, square, rhombus or polygon. It contains a grid (3) of material such as the silver threads already used in currency notes. It may be woven, knotted or glued from threads of metal or of natural or artificial fibre.
