Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for automatic Measurement and separation of bodies in relation to their Material properties, especially from hollow bodies Plastics as they occur in household and commercial waste, and especially the optical measurement of the Material properties.
A device for automatic measurement and separation of Bodies in terms of their material properties is from the U.S. Patent 3,747,755 is known. This arrangement divides one Conveyor belt through transverse walls into individual segments, in which each have a body inserted and infrared examined spectroscopically for its material properties becomes. One problem with this arrangement is one undefined position of the body in the segments, so that at Bodies with very different dimensions the distance to the Sensor varies widely. Frequent incorrect measurements are the Episode. Especially for hollow bodies and cups Plastics as they occur in household waste is one Defined position to the measuring head is important. Paper sticker hinder the measurement and should preferably not on Run the measuring head past. That is in an arbitrary situation the body in the segments cannot be avoided.
No. 2,747,755 also describes spectral measurement the body. In doing so, infrared light radiation is transmitted through a Mirrors directed at the body and from the body re-emitted infrared radiation via a second mirror directed to the detectors. The bodies have to become theirs reliable detection at the intersection of both beams are what high in an automated process Effort required. Furthermore, reflections from the The body emits the re-emitted light from the Body that is examined to determine the material and lead to error detections.
Even with a few incorrect measurements and subsequent incorrect ones Classification of the plastic parts is not the type purity guaranteed and the fractions as recyclate not interesting.
The invention has for its object the device for automatic measurement and separation of bodies in relation to design their material properties so that the Body on the conveyor belt to a defined position Take measuring heads, the radiation guide for the measurement large deviations in position of the body allowed, the influence of reflections on the measurement is reduced and the Material properties of the body with a lower error rate than can be measured so far.
According to the invention, this is due to the characteristic features of claims 1 to 8 solved. Beneficial Refinements are the subject of these claims subordinate claims, the content thereof expressly part of the present description is made without the wording at this point to repeat.
Es zeigen:Exemplary embodiments are described below with reference to the drawing explained. Show it:

Fig. 3 eine schematische Darstellung des optischen Meßkopfes. Fig. 3 is a schematic representation of the optical measuring head.
In Fig. 1, a rotating conveyor belt 1 is shown. Transverse walls 2 made of black acrylonitrile / butadiene / styrene are mounted in pairs on this conveyor belt, the distance from one another directly on the conveyor belt being small and increasing towards the top. In the direction of transport, the transverse walls, which belong to each other in pairs, are lined up without gaps and form the chambers for the body to be examined. The band is inclined perpendicular to the direction of movement so that one end of the chambers is lower than the other ends. The lower ends of the chambers are closed with a grating 3 , through whose openings the measuring radiation runs. From a feeding conveyor belt 4 , hollow bodies and cups made of plastic 5 are fed to the conveyor belt 1 , which runs much faster than the belt 1 at a speed of 1 meter per second and ensures a loading of a maximum of one body per chamber. Due to the inclination of the chambers, the hollow bodies and cups in the chambers fall against the grids 3 and are aligned perpendicular to the direction of movement of the conveyor belt by the chambers tapering from top to bottom.
The hollow bodies and cups in the segments are first guided past the infrared measuring heads 6 and 7 by the conveyor belt 2 . The measuring head 6 is located directly next to the conveyor belt, the material composition being measured by the grid 3 . The measuring head 7 is located directly above the conveyor belt in the vicinity of the grid 3 . This proximity of the measuring heads 6 and 7 to the grid 3 ensures that even small bodies are detected in the measuring field. The measuring heads 6 and 7 send light in the near infrared to the hollow bodies and cups, and the light reflected by these bodies is received by the same measuring heads. The light is spectrally broken down in a measuring and control unit 8 , measured with infrared detectors, the measured values evaluated and assigned to a material type. The associated electrical signals are fed to a pneumatic control, which optionally opens the pneumatic nozzles 9 .
When the hollow bodies and cups are transported further, these nozzles blow the hollow bodies and cups into the containers 10 at the locations assigned to the material types. In the present example, the hollow bodies and cups are separated from the household waste into the fractions polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate and residues. Instead of the containers, conveyor belts can also transport the sorted, sorted bodies. The system is also suitable for measuring bales made of plastics.
In Fig. 2 a rotating conveyor belt 1 is shown, which has no inclination. Halved tube segments 11 made of black acrylonitrile / butadiene / styrene are mounted on this conveyor belt. In the direction of transport, the halved pipe segments are lined up directly without gaps and form the chambers for the body to be examined. The chambers are closed on one side by the grids 3 .
In the area of the measuring heads 6 and 7 , a blower 12 is arranged opposite, which presses the hollow bodies and cups against the grids 3 by an air flow. All other features of the system shown in FIG. 2 correspond to those described in FIG. 1.
In Fig. 3, a measuring head is shown with a converging lens. At the undivided end of a dividing light guide bundle 14 , many individual fibers are evenly distributed over the cross section. This also applies to the fibers of the sub-bundle 15 , which leads infrared light from a light source to the measuring head. The light emerges from the bundle and is directed onto a body, for example a plastic bottle 19 , via a converging lens 18 . The light reflected back from the plastic bottle 19 is directed through the converging lens 18 onto the end face of the bundle 14 and reaches the optical fibers. The fibers that do not belong to the cable 15 now transport the light to the infrared detectors. The number of fibers is broken down into 6 equal sub-bundles 16 , each of which leads to associated detectors with spectral decomposition connected upstream.
A housing 13 is arranged around the undivided end of the bundle and the lens.
The individual sub-bundles are combined into a cable by a common jacket 17 and can also lead to a spectrograph instead of to the individual detectors. In the simplest case, the individual sub-bundles can also be individual light guides.
As a focusing optical element there is also a Concave mirror can be used.
Should be measured at a short distance from the measuring head, so can also be entirely on a lens or concave mirror to be dispensed with.
With the beam guidance described, the radiation has too like the bodies and the radiation from the bodies optical axis so that the body in different Distance to the measuring head can be reliably recognized. The influences of reflections are mitigated.
The optical arrangement described in FIG. 3 can be used in the same way for other optical examination methods, such as for color recognition.
