Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of Claim 1.
When signaling different image formats and additional information (e.g. for different signal pre-filtering) for widescreen receivers, serial, digital signals are transmitted in the first half of line 23 of the television signal. These serial, digital signals have a special mixed structure; they consist of z per frame (= half line 23 ). B. forty high-frequency and three low-frequency, bi-phase-modulated signal elements, of which the three low-frequency signal elements signal the picture format as a 3-bit statement and the forty high-frequency signal elements as 5 data words of 8 bits each signal the additional information. A frequency separation is usually provided before decoding this mixed structure in order to be able to decode the high and low frequency signal elements separately. When the three low-frequency signal elements are decoded, the sampling with a sampling frequency corresponding to the low-frequency data rate yields only one statement per frame according to the sampling theorem. Since image format signaling is very critical information, in order to achieve a minimum level of signaling reliability even under unfavorable reception conditions, especially at the edges of the broadcasting coverage areas, at least the statements of three successive full images must be awaited and evaluated before a final statement can be made is hit. However, this relatively sluggish evaluation leads to rapid channel changes by the user ("zapping") and. The format settings of the wide-screen receiver may be incorrect.
In contrast, the object of the invention consists in decoding the low-frequency signal elements of a serial, digital data signal to achieve reliable statements faster.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of Claim 1 solved.
Advantageous refinements and developments of the invention Procedures result from the subclaims.
The invention is based on the consideration of a frequency separation of the received digital signal into high and low frequency signal elements avoid and rather a uniform sampling frequency for all To provide signal elements which the highest occurring data rate within the signal. This makes the low-frequency Signal elements with a significantly increased compared to the sampling theorem Sampling frequency sampled ("oversampling"), which means per frame and each low-frequency signal element not just a single sample but a sequence multiple samples is available. This sequence of multiple samples each low-frequency signal element and per frame allows the use of one statistical majority check, which makes a reliable statement can be considered without taking into account the statements of the following full images to have to. As a result, a statement about the full frame can be made Image format signaling so that even with fast channel changes always correct format setting of the widescreen receiver is guaranteed.
Es zeigt:The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. It shows:
Fig. 1 eine Anordnung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens, und Fig. 1 shows an arrangement for performing the method according to the invention, and
FIG. 2 shows diagrams of signals which occur at the various points in the arrangement according to FIG. 1.
The arrangement shown in FIG. 1 is supplied with a serial, digital data signal according to FIG. 2a, which is transmitted in time-division multiplex with an analog television signal in the first half of television line 23 . The data signal is the so-called "wide-screen signaling" signal, which has the high-frequency signal elements two and three and the low-frequency signal elements four. In the illustration in Fig. 2a there is only a section of the half per television line 23 transmitted in each frame data signal.
The supplied serial digital data signal according to FIG. 2a is separated and limited in a stage 11 from the television signal, as shown in FIG. 2b. In a subsequent stage 21 , the separated and limited data signal is sampled at a clock frequency which is necessary for sampling the highest occurring data rate, ie is determined by the high-frequency signal elements 2 , 3 . For the low-frequency signal elements 4 of the signal according to FIG. 2a, this relatively high-frequency scanning means that, as illustrated with reference to FIG. 2c, each low-frequency signal element 4 is scanned several times, in the example shown, ten times. Since each low-frequency signal element 4 of length P ( FIG. 2c) is bi-phase modulated, the samples of the inverted section of each low-frequency signal element are inverted during the demodulation in stage 31 , as illustrated with reference to FIG. 2d. After demodulation has taken place, the samples which are assigned to the low-frequency signal elements 4 are also separated in stage 31 ( FIG. 2e) and in the subsequent stage 41 - separately for each low-frequency signal element 4 - summed up according to their logical states. In the subsequent stage 51 , the summation is evaluated - again separately for each low-frequency signal element 4 - in such a way that a majority decision is made taking into account a threshold value. For example, a summation result is considered correct if 70% of the summed samples of a signal element 4 correspond to a logic state. If the summation results of all low-frequency signal elements 4 per frame are above the threshold value, the overall result is considered to be certain and is passed on to stage 61 . The stage 61 then decodes the 3-bit word consisting of the three low-frequency signal elements and supplies the result to the image format setting stages of the wide-screen receiver.
