Der Apparat dient zur Heizung mit Steinkohlengas unter Benutzung der gewöhnlichen Stubenöfen (Kachelofen). Derselbe besteht aus einem aus zwei Theilen A und B zusammengesetzten gufseisernen Heizkasten, welcher durch Blecheinlagen in drei Kammern F1 F2 und Fs für die Heizgase und in vier Kammern L1 L2 L3 und L4 für die Erwärmung der Stubenluft abgetheilt ist. Der Theil B des Heizkastens wird durch die Ofenthür luftdicht in den Kachelofen eingesetzt und die Aschkastenthür luftdicht verschlossen, so dafs alle Luft, welche der Kamin durch den Ofen zieht, ihren Weg durch die mit einander verbundenen Kammern F1 F2 und Fa nehmen mufs. In den aus dem Ofen hervorragenden Kopf A des Heizkastens ist in die Vorkammer P desselben ein Gasrohr R eingeführt, welches eine Anzahl Gasbrenner trägt. Hinter diesen Brennern befindet sich ein Reflector, welcher einen Theil der Wärme der Gasflammen zur Erwärmung der unteren Luftschichten in schräger Richtung nach dem Fufsboden strahlt. Die Feuergase gelangen über die Brücke der Vorkammer in die Kammer F1, durchstreichen in absteigender Richtung die Kammern F2 und Fs und treten aus letzterer in den Kachelofen, den sie auf dem gewöhnlichen Wege bis zum Eintritt in den Kamin durchstreichen und erwärmen.The device is used for heating with coal gas using the usual room stoves (tiled stoves).
