Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a homogeneous defoamer mixture, which langket term alkyl or alkenyl radicals containing ketone with at least 25 C-ato and contains a paraffin wax that is solid at room temperature, a pourable and free-flowing foam control agent containing water-soluble or water-dispersible carrier material and defoaming adsorbed thereon mergemisch, and a method for producing such foam regu agent.
Long-chain ketones of the type concerned here and their preparation are known, for example from German Offenlegungsschrift DE 25 53 990. The ketones are prepared by catalytic elimination of CO 2 and water from higher monocarboxylic acids, in particular higher fatty acids or their salts. Their use as a means for special foam combating in the paint, paper and food industry is described in the aforementioned publication. From the European patent application EP 324 339 the use of appropriate Ke tone in cleaning agents containing active chlorine is known. There, however, the ketones are used as a dispersion in liquid organic carriers. Furthermore, it is known from German Offenlegungsschriften DE 14 67 613 and DE 22 42 541 to use ketones as foam inhibitors in soap-containing detergents. In the absence of soaps and additional foam inhibitors, such as acetals and ketals, their action is insufficient in such agents.
The task was therefore to provide a defoamer mixes used in detergents over a wide temperature range is richly effective, that is especially in the cold wash area and at medium washing temperatures, but also a nuisance in the hot wash area Foaming suppressed. Furthermore, the defoamer mixture is said to a free-flowing foam control agent that can be assembled in the Mixture with common detergent ingredients is stable in storage and effective remains and no adverse effects on the material to be treated and Environment.
Surprisingly, it has now been found that the existing task is solved by Defoamer mixtures of long-chain ketones and paraffin waxes with right relatively narrow melting range can be solved.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist demgemäß ein homogenes Entschäumergemisch, welches insbesondere zur Adsorption an ein körniges, wasserlösliches oder wasserdispergierbares Trägermaterial geeignet ist, enthaltendThe invention accordingly relates to a homogeneous defoamer mixture, which in particular for adsorption on a granular, water-soluble or water-dispersible carrier material is suitable, containing

The defoamer mixture preferably contains 1% by weight to 25% by weight, in particular in particular 5% by weight to 18% by weight of ketone (a) and 75% by weight to 99% by weight, ins particularly 82% to 95% by weight paraffin wax (b).
Another object of the invention is a granular, free-flowing Foam control agent consisting of (I) a granular, phosphate free, water-soluble or water-dispersible carrier material and (II) a homogeneous defoamer mixture adsorbed thereon as above named, which 80 wt .-% to 99.5 wt .-%, in particular 88 wt .-% to 98% by weight of carrier material (I) and 0.5% by weight to 20% by weight, in particular Contains 2 wt .-% to 12 wt .-% defoamer mixture (II).
The foam regulating agent according to the invention preferably contains 80% by weight up to 99.5% by weight, in particular 88% by weight to 98% by weight of carrier material (I) and 0.5% by weight to 20% by weight, in particular 2% by weight to 12% by weight, of defoaming merge mixture (II) included.
Preferred as component (a) of the defoamer mixture are ketones which can be obtained by reacting linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acids or carboxylic acid mixtures in which the carboxylic acids have more than 12 C atoms, in particular a carbon chain length of C 14 to C 30 and react in the ketonization with elimination of carbon dioxide and water. Particularly preferred are ketones which are obtained from the ketonization of carboxylic acids or carboxylic acid salts of carbon chain length from C 18 to C 22 and mixtures thereof. The ketones can usually be prepared at temperatures in the range from about 200 to 350 ° C. in the presence of metal oxides or fatty acid metal compounds. Both raw materials with a uniform number of carbon atoms and fatty acid mixtures of natural origin can be used. These mixtures can also contain carboxylic acids with 12 and fewer C atoms, provided there is an excess of fatty acids with 14 and more C atoms. Mixtures of symmetrical and asymmetrical ketones are formed, the asymmetrical ketones, depending on the material used, also having shorter chains than C 14 or C 12 , provided that a longer-chain residue is present in the molecule, so that the total number of C atoms is on average is at least 25. Examples are Heptacosanon-14, Hentriacontanon-16, Pentatriacontanon-18, Nonatriacontanon-20, Triatetracontanon-22 or Nonacosanon-15, Tritriacon tanon-17, Heptatriacontanon-19, Hentetracontanon-21 and the like. Ke tone or ketone mixtures of the type described are usually solid at room temperature and have melting points in the range from 60 ° C to 105 ° C.
The ketones are preferably in finely divided form and have ins especially an average grain size of less than 50 µm. The information with regard to the particle size refer to the known determination method with the "Coulter Counter".
The paraffin wax contained in the defoamer mixture (component b) generally represents a complex mixture of substances without a sharp melting point. Usually its melting range is determined for characterization by differential thermal analysis (DTA), as in "The Analyst" 87 (1962), 420, described, and / or its freezing point. It is understood as the temperature at which the paraffin slowly cools out of the liquid changes to the solid state. Thereby are at room temperature completely liquid paraffins, i.e. those with a solidification point below 25 ° C, not usable according to the invention. Preferably be Waxes are used that solidify in the range of 30 ° C to 90 ° C. It is note that paraffin wax, which appears solid even at room temperature Mixtures can contain different proportions of liquid paraffin. This liquid is present in the paraffin waxes which can be used according to the invention proportion as low as possible and preferably missing entirely. So prove preferred paraffin wax mixtures at 30 ° C a liquid content of below 10% by weight, in particular from 2% by weight to 5% by weight, a flow at 40 ° C. content of less than 30% by weight, preferably from 5% by weight to 25% by weight and in particular from 5% by weight to 15% by weight, at 60 ° C. a liquid fraction of 30% by weight to 60% by weight, in particular from 40% by weight to 55% by weight 80 ° C a liquid content of 80 wt .-% to 100 wt .-%, and at 90 ° C. a liquid content of 100% by weight. The temperature at which a river content of 100% by weight of the paraffin wax is reached, be particularly preferred paraffin wax mixtures still below 85 ° C, especially at 75 ° C to 82 ° C.
Erfindungsgemäß brauchbare Paraffinwachse sind beispielsweise Luna flex® 902 der Firma Fuller sowie Deawax® VP 0222 und VP 1220 der DEA Mineralöl AG.Paraffin waxes which can be used according to the invention are, for example, Luna flex® 902 from Fuller and Deawax® VP 0222 and VP 1220 from DEA Mineralöl AG.
The defoamer mixture can be prepared in such a way that the finely divided ketone (components te a) enters and homogenized therein by intensive mixing. The The melt should have a temperature of at least 60 ° C and at most Have 200 ° C. The temperature is preferably 80 ° C. to 160 ° C. The presence is essential for the defoamer to be effective a stable dispersion of the ketone particles in the paraffin matrix, what caused by a particle size corresponding to the above definition can be. In order to achieve this state of dispersion, one can Use and disperse ketone, the appropriate one from the start Particle size, or a more coarse starting size is used material and subjects the melt to a grinding treatment using a koiloid mills, tooth mills or ball mills until the desired particle size is enough.
Also a complete melting of the ketone in the paraffin melt and then rapid cooling to temperatures below the freeze point of the ketone with simultaneous homogenization of the melt can lead to a correspondingly fine particle size distribution of the ketone. Here is a further advantage of the defoamer mixture according to the invention compared to conventional defoamer components based on carboxylic acid bisamide to significantly higher thermal resilience of the long-chain ketones imagine.
The production of a foam control agent according to the invention can by applying the molten defoamer mixture (II) to a gran niges carrier material (I) take place, for example by successive Zumi to the carrier grain, in particular as a spray. The carrier grain, which in the usual way by spray drying an aqueous slurry of Carrier salts can be generated by mixing elements or by Fluidization kept in motion to keep the load even To ensure carrier material. The spray mixers used for this can NEN can be operated continuously or discontinuously.
An embodiment for the production consists in the granular carrier ma material in continuous flow through the also continuously witnessed spray zone of the at least partially melted defoamer to spin mixture, with residence times of the carrier material in the hot spray zone of usually less than 1 second can. It is also possible to use Par cooling the foam control agent with the aid of a gas stream, so that the thermal loads on the material are extremely low can be held.
The method described above accesses one type of method back, as is known for example from EP 48 312. As a device to carry out the method in this document is a wheel trained mixing device described in which two individually formed and driven wheel-shaped discs are superimposed. The solid powder is fed to one disc, the one below The liquid component is applied to the pane. Both discs run at high rotation speeds, in the range of some Can be 100 to several 1000 revolutions per minute. The each acted upon disc surfaces and especially the edge of the rivers liquid-bearing disc are designed so that on the one hand the spray Fog zone from the edge of the wheel running at high speed is thrown off and continuously reproduced, on the other hand it becomes granular material continuously fed to the other wheel-shaped member flung through this spray zone of the liquid phase. On Due to the high working speed, the very short contact occurs tion of the two material phases with each other and thus only at one time very short contact of the solid particles with the warm respectively hot spray phase. With the device described in EP 48 312 the procedure is particularly easy to carry out, but it is not up to date directions of this type. It is essential to hire a re relatively short contact time, which is achieved in that the solid good hurled through a continuously generated spray zone is, the solid material optionally before and / or behind the Spray zone can be cooled.
The foam regulating agent is produced in a further one Design according to the invention such that the support material (I) in Water dissolves or slurries, the defoamer mixture (II) in it dispersed and then spray-dried this slurry. The dispersion is preferably a water-soluble, non-surfactant dispersion stabilizer added in the form of a water-swellable polymer because the Components of the defoamer mixture in the aqueous slurry in general are not sufficiently soluble. Examples of this are the Cel lulose ethers, homo- and copolymers of unsaturated carboxylic acids, such as Acrylic acid, maleic acid and copolymerizable vinyl compounds, such as Vinyl ether, acrylamide and ethylene. The addition of such as dispersi onsstabilisatoren acting compounds in the aqueous slurry is preferably not more than 5% by weight, in particular 1% by weight to 3 wt .-%, based on the average. The water content of the slurries can vary depending on the type or solubility of the carrier salt, 30% by weight 60% by weight. In principle, the spray drying of the dispersion can in a known manner in systems provided for this purpose, so-called spray towers, using hot, co-current or counter-current drying gases respectively. The drying is done in co-current with the spray material led drying gases preferred, because of the potential hot air volatility of some components of the defoamer mixture de Loss of activity can be reduced to a minimum.
By mixing cellulose ether pre-swollen in water with a paraffin-ketone melt obtained at 130 ° C., mixing with the separately prepared aqueous slurry of sodium carbonate, natri sulfate and optionally zeolite and / or layered silicate and final mixing with any sodium used silicate, the zeolite in the form of an approximately 50% by weight aq slurry and the sodium silicate in the form of an approx. 35 weight Percent water glass solution was used from the table below 1 specified raw materials produced aqueous slurries, each because contained about 34 wt .-% water. These slurries were on Temperatures of around 80 ° C to 90 ° C are heated and in a drying tower sprayed, hot air (temperature 238 ° C at the entry point) in the DC was conducted. The table in Table 1 by their together characterized free-flowing powder products S1 to S6 parts free of particles larger than 2 mm in diameter Chen over 0.8 mm of 1 wt .-% and particles below 0.2 mm of 21 wt .-% and had a bulk density of 650 grams per liter.
