Description
The invention relates to a connecting element for a high-frequency signal transmission path after the Ober Concept of claim 1.
A number have become known from EP 0 362 841 of coaxial cables to connect to a circuit board. The PCB has an array of connector pins on the coaxial sockets of the coaxial cable the. A coaxial cable usually has a predetermined one Impedance on. The circuit board is usually attached to this Matched impedance. The same applies to the connection a connector pin with a socket.
From US-PS 4 995 815, FR-PS 2 552 939 or the GB-PS 2 252 578 has become known, approximately parallel to PCB-guided coaxial cable via a connection element to be connected to a printed circuit board. To this The purpose of the signal conductor in the connecting element becomes more or less surrounded by a shield that is connected dung stands with the shielding of the coaxial cable and with the ground conductor of the circuit board. Because of the geometric Assignment of coaxial cable and circuit board is required Lich to bie the signal conductor in the link by 90 ° gen. The shielding of the plugged into the circuit board Section of the signal conductor takes place in that several Pins arranged around the signal conductor and also be inserted into the circuit board, which in this Be richly form a shield. With the help of such Connecting element can be approximately an impedance make fit for the connecting element. The manufacturer development of such connecting elements is however a ratio moderately complex.
Aus dem Prospekt "Control Impedance of 50 Ohms in only 1/28 the Space" von "Chabin Transmission Line Applications 3M Electronic Products Division" vom 1. From the brochure "Control Impedance of 50 Ohms in only 1/28 the Space" from "Chabin Transmission Line Applications 3 M Electronic Products Division" from January 1, 1988, it became known to provide connectors for coaxial cables in which signal and ground conductors are not coaxial to each other, but arranged in parallel and surrounded by an electrically conductive housing. If such connectors are to be connected to a printed circuit board, there is a risk of mismatching, in particular if, for example, contact pins on the printed circuit board are not completely taken up by the female connector part, but rather there is a distance between the connector and the printed circuit board. This distance is especially unavoidable if the coaxial cable or the connector is arranged at an angle not equal to 90 ° to the circuit board. Mismatches in impedance, provided they do not exceed certain limits, are not particularly serious in the usual high-frequency range. However, they lead to undesirable reflections when the transmission frequency assumes high values, for example above 500 MHz to 1 GHz. The faults that occur here are then no longer negligible.
From US Pat. No. 4,789,357 it is known to use pin headers as Connect a conductive housing around the pins arrange as a continuation of the shielding of a coaxial cable or a shielded one connected to the coaxial cable Frame. In another known pin header after the EP 0 131 248 is a conductive sheet meandering around the Contact pins arranged around that with the conductive Ge housing of a plug part is in electrical connection. The signal is in the pin header according to EP 0 074 205 pin a channel-like part made of conductive sheet metal net, the walls of which are also connected to the conductive housing of the Plug part comes into conductive contact. From the DE-PS 39 04 461 has finally become known, a multi-pole To provide high-frequency plug connection at the respective Plug body made of an electrically conductive material and the signal-carrying individual contacts through isolating di electrical are separated from the connector body.
In the known embodiments described last sufficient impedance matching may be achieved. The constructive measures to achieve this adjustment solution, however, led to complex production of the Fasteners.
The invention has for its object a connection element for a high-frequency signal transmission path create with the components of a high frequency transmission supply route in a simple manner via a predetermined Im pedanz can be connected.
This object is achieved by the features of the patent saying 1.
In the connecting element according to the invention assumed that complex shielding can be dispensed with in the area of the connecting element, if impedance matching takes place in a special way det. In the case of unshielded conductor sections in the connector element is usually too high, higher than the commonly used impedance values of 50, 75 or 90 ohms. The impedance of a high frequency transmission distance depends on the inductance and capacitance of the Route from. Will the capacity of the transmission link increases, the impedance decreases. The invention makes take advantage of this regularity by the ladder sections in the connecting element with surface sections in opposing areas that provides a distance from each other, which differs from that of the neighboring parts the conductor sections. This way the capacity e.g. B. significantly increased between the conductor sections become. It is therefore possible with the help of the fiction measure measure the impedance of a connecting element for a high-frequency signal transmission path at otherwise given distances of the conductor sections at the ends decrease or enlarge.
The capacity is known to depend on the distance and the area of the electrodes and the dielectric between the electrodes. According to the invention is therefore the Halteab cut the conductor sections at a distance from each other holds, executed so that he the conductor sections in the Area of the surface sections as a dielectric at least partially encloses. By choosing the mentioned Parame ter can thus be obtained a desired impedance value and thus the desired adaptation to the impedance of the Transmission path or a targeted mismatch, if necessary.
Different geometrical configurations are possible, through which the capacity between two conductor sections ten in the connecting element can be increased. Below examples are given in which the capacity increases the impedance is thus reduced. There is an out of this design of the invention that the surface sections run in parallel. You can after another Staltung the invention have a width that is larger is called the width or diameter of the neighboring Parts of the conductor sections. The conductor sections can for example square or circular cross section exhibit. The lei ter sections have a larger width and also closer to each other. To ver such a configuration real, can according to an invention in the ladder cut a thickening that is provided in one piece is formed with the conductor sections. The thickening can be circular or rectangular in cross section. A thickening circular in cross section only leads to a relatively small increase in capacity. She has except which, like the rectangular thickening, has the disadvantage that the distance to adjacent pairs of conductor sections ten is also reduced, leading to a better approach coupling of adjacent signal conductors. It can therefore to increased crosstalk between the signal lines lead sections, which is also undesirable. There ago provides a more advantageous embodiment that the Thickening is triangular in cross-section, the anan the facing triangle sides are approximately parallel. The Triangular shape has the advantage that between mass and Signal conductor section a significant increase in capacity is achieved while the capacity between neighboring Ground or signal conductors are only slightly changed.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the Finally, a thickening also has a cross-section contained approach, being the crossbar of the approaches opposite conductor sections approximately parallel run. Again, there is a risk of crosstalk decreased.
Another embodiment of the invention provides that the Surface sections from a cranking of the one-piece lei sub-sections are formed. If the conductor sections in the plane in which the conductor sections face each other lie, are bent towards each other so that they are closer running side by side will also result in an increased Kapa received this transmission section. Preferably the cranked areas of the holding sections are abge flattens around the interacting surfaces of the conductors cuts to enlarge. In addition, the cranked Be a wider width than the neighboring parts of the Have conductor sections. Such conductor sections are easy to manufacture. The blanks are preferably punched or made of wire material cut while the cranked areas through one Embossing process.
However, it is also possible to use the surface sections of ge separate parts to form with the conductor sections are connected. The separated parts can for example by welding, soldering or gluing with the conductor section connected. Alternatively, the separate ones Parts can be plugged onto the conductor sections. The ge separated parts can be shaped like clips to them via a snap connection to the conductor sections connect. In this context another looks design of the invention that the separate parts the ends projecting legs with a from Free end formed in the slot, the one another aligned slots receive the conductor section. The separate parts are preferably made of flat material bow. However, they can also consist of solid material and just like the above-mentioned thickened areas in Cross-section triangular, T-shaped, rectangular, circular etc.
The parts of the lei lying outside the holding section ter sections are preferably straight and parallel and can, for example, be pen-like so that they can be openings of printed circuit boards or in corresponding fiber can be inserted. The one on both sides parts of the ladder lying outside the holding section Sections can also include an angle, for example play of 90 °. Then within the holding section the parts of the lei provided with the surface sections sections take a curved shape to fit over the entire course within the holding section an increase capacity.
As mentioned, they can lie outside the holding section parts of the conductor sections of the connecting element be pen-shaped. Alternatively, they can also be used as frames be trained to z. B. with on a circuit board brought contact pins to be connected.
The connecting element according to the invention is a for many usable for set purposes. For example, it can be used for this be an adapted connection between two conductors to make plates. The circuit boards can be parallel or also run at an angle to each other. The verb The element can be on the edge of a circuit board, for example be arranged and arranged with a perpendicular to it th printed circuit board, a bus or the like become. Another application is for the play a female connector part with a To connect circuit board, again connector part and circuit board at any angle to each other can have.
A third option is two female Connector parts (sockets) in any Connect angles together. After all, he can Connection element according to the invention also serve a male connector part with a circuit board connect.

In Fig. 1, three cuboid female Steckverbin derteile 10 are shown, which are connected to a coaxial cable 12 . The housing 14 made of conductive material is connected to the shielding of the cable 12 , not shown. Furthermore, a connecting element 16 is shown, which has a rectangular body 18 made of a dielectric material and a series of similar pin-like elements 20 . The body 18 lies on a printed circuit board 22, which is only shown generally. The pin-like elements or conductor sections are arranged in pairs. The adjacent pins 24 serve, for example, as signal conductors, and the conductor sections 26 arranged opposite them in series are, for example, the ground conductors. As can be seen, the conductor sections 24 , 26 consist of three parts. One 28 or 30 is embedded in the material of the body 18 . Upward extend from the body 18 in cross section rectangular contact pins 32 and down contact pins 34th The contact pins 34 are received by openings of the circuit board 22 , not shown. A connector 10 can be plugged onto each pair of contact pins 24 , 26 , as indicated in FIG. 1.
The middle parts 28 , 30 of the contact elements 24 , 26 are shaped identically, 50 so that only the part 30 is to be explained in more detail. It is U-shaped with two parallel leg sections 38 , 40 and a web section 42 . The leg sections 38 , 40 are triangular, being connected to the contact pins 32 , 34 in the region of a triangular tip. The web section 42 has the width of the triangle side at the end of the leg sections 38 , 40 . The U-shaped parts 28 , 30 can be formed in one piece with the elements 24 , 26 , for example by a suitable embossing process. It is also possible to connect the contact pins 32, 34 in a suitable manner with the legs 38 , 40 , for example by soldering or welding.
As can be seen, the mutually facing surfaces of the web sections 42 of the central parts 28 , 30 are closer to one another and have a larger surface area than the contact pins 32 , 34 outside the body 18 acting as a holding part. The capacity of the pairs of conductor sections 24 , 26 in the loading area of the middle parts 28 , 30 is therefore much higher than outside the holding body 18th On the other hand, the capacitance between adjacent signal conductor sections 24 or adjacent ground conductor sections 26 is only slightly different than if the pin sections 32 , 34 were to extend unchanged through the holding body 18 . The risk of crosstalk is therefore no greater than with conventional connecting elements.
The following FIGS. 2 to 5 show modifications of the connecting element 16 according to FIG. 1. The same or similar parts are therefore provided with the same reference numerals, each of which a letter is added.
A connecting element 16 a of Fig. 2 has a block-like holding body 18 a of dielectric material. It holds a plurality of contact elements 20 a, namely pin-like signal contact elements 24 a and pin-like ground contact elements 26 a, which are arranged in pairs. Each of the elements 24 a, 26 a has cross-sectional rectangular contact pins 32 a, 34 a on both sides of the holding body 18 a. Rectangular thickenings 44 are provided within the holding body 18 a in cross section. The contact elements 24 a, 26 a and the pairs of Leiterab sections have a significantly higher capacity in the region of the holding body 18 a. In contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 1, however, the capacitance is also increased between adjacent signal conductor sections 24 a and between adjacent mass conductor sections 26 a, as a result of which crosstalk is facilitated.
The thickenings 44 can be cut in one piece with the Leiterab cut 24 a, 26 a, they can also be ge separate parts that are pushed onto the pins 32 a, 34 a.
Fig. 3 shows a connecting element 16 b with again a rectangular body 18 b made of dielectric material. Pin-shaped contact elements or conductor sections 24 b, 26 b form a contact element arrangement 20 b in pairs, the contact pins 32 b, 34 b having a circular cross section outside the holding body 18 b. In the area of the holding body 18 b, the conductor sections 24 b, 26 b are provided with a thickening 46 which is triangular in cross section and is arranged such that a side surface 48 of a thickness 46 is in each case near and parallel to the corresponding side surface of the thickening of the opposite conductor section is arranged. Accordingly, the axis of the pin sections 32 b, 34 b runs in the region of the tip of the triangle opposite the surface 48 . As a result, similar to the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the capacitance between a signal conductor section 24 b and a ground conductor section 26 b is increased. The triangular shape in cross section, however, has the consequence that the risk of crosstalk compared to the embodiment of FIG. 2 is significantly reduced because the capacitance between adjacent signal conductor sections 24 b or ground conductor sections 26 b is only slightly affected by the thickening 46 .
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the stiftarti gene conductor elements 24 c, 26 c in cross-section T-shaped clauses 46 c, the transverse web of which has a surface 48 c, the surfaces 48 c of opposite conductor sections 24 c, 26 c the pairs of conductor sections are parallel and lie relatively close together. The contact pins 32 c, 34 c are otherwise rectangular or square in cross section. The approaches 46 c in turn increase the capacitance between signal conductor section 24 c and ground conductor section 26 c significantly, while the capacitance between adjacent signal conductor sections 24 c or neighboring ground conductor sections 26 c is only slightly changed compared to that which would have been recorded without such approaches 46 c.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the thickenings or lugs 46 and 46 c are formed in one piece with the conductor sections 24 c, 26 c. You can of course be separate parts that are connected in a suitable manner to the conductor sections. In the binding member 16 Ver d of FIG. 5, the conductor portions 24 d, 26 d formed by continuous square in cross-section pins, which upper contact pins form 32 d and un tere contact pins 34 d. Cross-sectionally U-shaped parts 50 are connected to the conductor sections 24 d, 26 d. They are formed from flat material and have parallel legs 52 , 54 and a web 56 connecting the legs. From the free end, slots 58 are formed in the legs, which receive the conductor sections 24 d, 26 d. The parts 50 can be plugged onto the conductor sections 24 d, 26 d or connected to them by welding or soldering. The facing surfaces 60 of the webs 56 are parallel and very close together. They in turn increase the capacitance between signal conductor section 24 d and ground conductor section 26 d of the pairs of contact elements.
In the embodiments according to FIGS . 1 to 5, the conductor sections are each rectilinear, ie the contact pins projecting on both sides of the holding body 18 to 18 d are aligned with one another or lie on the same axis. In the embodiments according to FIGS. 6 and 7, however, the contact pins have an angle of 90 ° to one another. Pairs of signal conductor and ground conductor sections 66 , 68 are held in a body 64 which is approximately trapezoidal in cross section and made of a suitable dielectric, their ends forming square contact pins in cross section which are at right angles to one another. The conductor sections 66 , 68 of a pair are each arranged in one plane. The conductor sections 66 , 68 are flattened and widened within the holding body 64 , as shown at 70 and 72 , respectively. In addition, the flattened sections 70 , 72 are brought closer to one another than the sections from outside the holding body 64 . The sections 70 , 72 in turn form a section of higher capacity.
In the embodiment of FIG. 7, the holding body are in a holding body 64 a similar 64 approximately bent at right angles square in cross-section Leiterab sections 66 a, 68 a held, in turn, the outside are connected to the contact pins are provided which have a right angle to one another . Bow-like elements 70 have legs 72 , 74 extending at right angles to one another with slots 76 formed from the ends for receiving the bent section 78 of the conductor sections 66 a, 68 a. The legs 72 , 74 are connected to one another by a flat, curved web 80 . The curved web 80 follows the course of the curved sections 68 of the Leiterab sections 66 a, 68 a. The parts 70 are in turn formed from flat material. The webs 80 are each on the other side facing the conductor sections 66 a, 68 a, so that again parallel parallel surfaces are formed ge in order to increase the capacity.
It should also be mentioned that the connecting elements 16 to 16 d and 62 , 62 a can be connected to different components of a high-frequency transmission link, for example with a printed circuit board, as indicated in FIG. 1, or with plug parts containing sockets.
The capacitance-changing sections do not necessarily have to be surrounded by a solid dielectric, but rather the dielectric can also be air. The dash-dotted line in Fig. 7 indicates that the holding body 62 a can have smaller dimensions. Then the sections 70 protrude with the legs 72 downward, as a result of which the dielectric of air prevails in this part.
The holding body 64 b of FIG. 8 differs from that of FIG. 6 in that it has square openings 86 on one side, which are aligned with sockets 88, which are connected to the ends of the conductor section 66 b, 68 b. The sockets 88 are formed by two spaced tongues 90 , 92 , of which the tongue 90 is part of the flat conductor section 66 b, 68 b and the tongue 92 can be a separate flat part or via a web (not shown) with the tongue 90 connected is.
