Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for thermi recombination of a gas of a gas mixture, esp of hydrogen or oxygen in the containment Atmosphere of a nuclear reactor plant. It is also directed on a device for performing the method.
When an accident occurs in a nuclear reactor plant can cause flammable gases inside the containment form. So z. B. hydrogen and oxygen as a result a water-zirconium reaction. To one Ignition of such an ignitable gas mixture to ver avoid combustible gases become.
From DE-PS 29 22 717 is a process for catalytic Recombination of in the safety case of a nuclear freak included hydrogen. This will a catalyst powder is blown into the safety cover, being the one sinking down by gravity Catalyst powder a catalytic oxidation of the water substance takes place. With this particularly complex Ver Driving is common, especially with a substoechio metric proportion of oxygen in the gas atmosphere of the Containments containing nuclear reactor, only minor Degradation rates of the hydrogen reached.
The invention is therefore based on the task times the means and regardless of the respective mixture share of a gas mixture high recombination rates to reach.
According to the invention, the stated object is achieved by that the gas mixture first ver with a reaction gas mixes and then fed to a reaction chamber is, the reaction gas to recombine a Gas of the gas mixture required reactants contains.
A is expediently used for thermal recombination Catalyst used. The recombination can also take place in a heatable reaction chamber in which heating up to the ignition limit of the ignitable gas mixture takes place.
In order to recombine hydrogen in the safe to avoid an increase in pressure of a nuclear reactor the, in an advantageous development of the method Reaction gas mixed with steam. The steam condenses inside half of the security case, at the same time the one there closed gas mixture is diluted.
To increase the recombination effectiveness can be advantageous the reaction gas before mixing with the Gas mixture to be preheated.
The object is achieved by a device with a thermal reaction chamber solved, which is marked through a mixing chamber for mixing the gas mixture with a reac required to recombine the gas tion gas, the mixing chamber in the flow direction of the Gas mixture is arranged in front of the reaction chamber.
For mixing the gas mixture with the reaction gas the mixing chamber expediently comprises a driving nozzle, that with a gas line for supplying the reaction gas connected is. One is particularly suitable as a mixing chamber Jet pump.
The advantages achieved with the invention are in particular the fact that by mixing the gas mixture with a reaction gas even in an inert gas atmosphere, in which a reaction partner does not or only in substoichio metric concentration is present, high degradation rates be achieved. This z. B. in one by one Accident caused hydrogen release within the safety cover of a nuclear reactor plant the overpressure dismantled in the containment, making a secondary accident practical is excluded.
An embodiment of the invention is based on a Drawing explained in more detail. It shows a recombiner thermal recombination of hydrogen or oxygen in the containment atmosphere of a nuclear reactor plant.
Only the safety cover 1 of the nuclear reactor plant is shown in the detail. The arranged within the security case 1 recombiner 2 is through a wall 4 , z. B. protected against debris or splinter flight.
The recombiner 2 comprises a thermal reaction chamber 6 and a mixing chamber 8 . The reaction chamber 6 contains a heatable by means of a heater 9 catalyst 10 , z. B. based on platinum or palladium, in the form of a bed or a solid.
The mixing chamber 8 comprises a drive nozzle 12 and is designed in the manner of a jet pump or an injector. The driving nozzle 12 is connected to a gas line 14 . The gas line 14 is connected via a heat exchanger 16 and a bushing 18 in the safety cover 1 with a propellant gas container 20 and via a branch 22 with a reaction gas container 24 . The heat exchanger 16 and a further heat exchanger 26 are arranged between the reaction chamber 6 and the mixing chamber 8 . The heat exchanger 26 is connected via a line 28 to the reaction chamber 6 and, via a line 30 which opens into a mixing stage 32, with the sphere enclosed within the containment 1 gas atmospheres.
The container 24 is filled with a reaction gas, e.g. B. filled with water or oxygen. The propellant gas container 20 is filled with water, which can be evaporated by means of a heating device 34 .
With an increased hydrogen or oxygen concentration within the safety cover 1 , the mixing chamber 8 is supplied with oxygen or hydrogen from the container 24 via the line 14 , the respective amount of reaction gas being set by means of a valve 36 . The reaction gas thus contains the reaction partner which is missing for recombination of the gas contained in the gas mixture in an increased concentration or which is present only in a low concentration. Within the mixing chamber 8 , the gas flowing in the direction of the arrows 40 into the recombiner 2 is mixed with the gas emerging from the propellant nozzle 12, the reaction gas being preheated in the heat exchanger 16 first. Together with the reaction gas, a quantity of steam which can be set by means of a valve 42 is guided from the container 20 into the mixing chamber 8 . By adding steam, pressure build-up inside the safety cover 1 is reliably avoided.
The gas mixture enriched with the reaction gas and the steam flows through a water separator or filter 44 into the reaction chamber 6 , in which a catalytic recombination of the gas contained in increased concentration in the gas mixture takes place with the reaction gas. The gas mixture then flows back via line 28 and heat exchanger 26 and via line 30 and mixing stage 32 into the containment atmosphere. The mixing stage 32 brings about a thorough mixing of the gas mixture flowing out of the recombiner 2 with the containment atmosphere.
At an increased pressure within the safety cover 1 , the reaction gas is sucked in by the gas mixture. The mixing chamber 8 designed as a jet pump is expediently dimensioned in such a way that with a mass fraction of the reaction gas more than five mass fractions, preferably more than ten mass fractions, of the gas mixture are conveyed within the safety cover 1 . As a result, high circulation rates are achieved.
For an oxygen degradation in a gas atmosphere having a high nitrogen concentration, hydrogen 46 is fed from the container 24 into the mixing chamber 8 by means of an arranged in the mixing chamber 8 conveyor.
The described method is expediently carried out by means of a number of recombiners 2 , which can also be arranged outside the security cover 1 . In this case, the recombiner 2 is connected in a manner not shown in more detail to the containment atmosphere via implementations within the security cover 1 .
The method can advantageously be carried out independently of the composition of the gas mixture within the safety cover 1 . In this way, high recombination or degradation rates are also achieved in an inert containment atmosphere in which nitrogen and / or carbon dioxide are contained in high concentration and hydrogen and / or oxygen in only low concentration.
