Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing space Lich shaped plastic skins according to the generic term of An Proverb 1, as for example from EP-OS 218 043 as be knows emerges. A modified, previously known method this type shows DE-PS 31 37 425, in which the formed Skin is processed directly in the mold. These The procedure is also called slush molding.
In the conventional slush molding process, the molding is used stuff on the side of the powder application sealing with a pul cased with a powder supply in it. After this then the mold to the required temperature (approx. 230 ° C) has been brought, the powder box including molding for a long time spatially swiveled and rotated, so that all parts of the mold to be coated with the plastic powder tumbling freely in the powder box sufficient and repeated contact. This melts the powder to the mold to form the desired one Plastic skin. Having a sufficiently strong art fabric skin is also formed at the thinnest places, as experience has shown the swivel movement is switched off, the powder box in brought such a position in which the excess powder falls back into the powder box and then the hot mold detached from the box to share it with the educated art cool the fabric skin so that it is removed from the mold can be. A disadvantage of this known method design is as follows:
It is a sealing device for sealing clamping of the mold to the powder box is required.
- - Ferner ist ein komplizierter und teurer Mechanismus zum räumlichen Verschwenken von Pulverkasten und Formwerkzeug nötig.- Furthermore, a complicated and expensive mechanism for spatial pivoting of powder box and mold necessary.
- - Aufgrund der aufwendigen und mechanisch belastenden Hand habung des Formwerkzeuges in der geschilderten Art muß das Formwerkzeug sehr stabil sein, was notwendigerweise die Wärmespeicherkapazität des Formwerkzeuges erhöht; dies bedingt lange Aufheiz- und Abkühlzeiten bei jedem neuen Hautbildungsprozeß, so daß die Fertigungszeiten relativ lang sind.- Due to the complex and mechanically stressful hand must have the mold in the manner described the molding tool must be very stable, which is necessary increases the heat storage capacity of the mold; this requires long heating and cooling times for everyone new skin formation process, so the manufacturing times are relatively long.
So that the powder melts on the mold, it must be pressed with a certain pressure, which a ge know minimum supply of powder in the box assumes for example about 100 kg. This powder heats up after a certain number of skin formation cycles, at for example after about 10 to 20 cycles and it must be for that Powder can be taken to cool off, otherwise the powder would clump in the storage box.
The thickness of the plastic skin can not be controlled specifically; in order to avoid impermissibly thin places in other places, very thick walls are accepted will.
To be able to produce other workpieces, the Pul retrofit box to accommodate other molds will; a mixed operation for different workpieces on a certain system is not without retrofitting possible.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, das gattungsgemäß zugrunde ge legte Verfahren dahingehend zu verbessern, daßThe object of the invention is that the generic ge put procedures to improve that
- - kürzere Fertigungszeiten für die Kunststoffhäute erziel bar sind,- Achieved shorter manufacturing times for the plastic skins are cash,
A plastic skin even in the wall thickness without Can be made thin and without thick sections,
- - in flexibler Weise unterschiedliche Formwerkzeuge ver wendet und unterschiedlich geformte Kunststoffhäute in gemischter Fertigung ohne Umrüstarbeiten hergestellt wer den können und- Ver different molds in a flexible manner turns and differently shaped plastic skins in mixed production without conversion work can and
This diverse task is inventively by the kenn Drawing features of claim 1 solved. Thanks to the spray an electrostatically charged powder by means of a Movable powder spray can heat the powder Powder stocks and accordingly cooling waiting times as well can be avoided, such as the cumbersome connection of a Pul encased with all its adverse consequences in terms of Sealing problem, rigid bond to certain molds, com duplicated musculoskeletal system and stable, d. H. massive and thermally slow execution of the mold. Last can in On the contrary, it is very light and can therefore be quickly heated or cooled are trained, whereby the manufacturing time is substantially right is induced. The movement program for mobile spraying organ can be adapted to the respective mold and with it specifically applied a uniform layer thickness everywhere be so that thin spots on the one hand and uncontrollable Thick areas in gusset areas on the other hand can be avoided can. The difference can also be made without any retrofitting most common molds with one and the same spraying element be sprayed. With manual spraying, this is anyway no question; when spraying with a robot only needs to be called up a previously saved movement program, which automatically by means of a corresponding identification of the shape tool can be done. Further advantages of the invention lie in the elimination of the complicated musculoskeletal system for that Swiveling and rotating the powder box and the constant ge mutual sealing of mold and powder box.
Appropriate embodiments of the invention can be found in the claims at under. Otherwise, the invention is explained with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings; thereby, Figs. 1 to 4, a sequence among schiedlicher steps in producing a plastic skin in the here described procedure.
The molding tool 1 shown in the figures is covered on its rear side, which is not to be coated, with a shielding box 2 , in which a plurality of radiation rods 3 directed towards the wall of the molding tool 1 are arranged, which on their side facing away from the molding tool 1 have a radiation reflector 4 are covered. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the mold 1 can thus be heated from the rear by radiant heat. Thanks to a very small wall thickness s, which can be, for example, in the range of 1 to 2 mm, the tool mass is very low and, accordingly, the heating and cooling times are very short. With a grounding 5 , the mold is set to zero potential. The molding tool 1 with its rear shielding box 2 is - at least in the individual workstations - held still. At most, it can be moved between stationary work stations in a straight line or on a circular path. In the coating station shown in FIG. 1, the molding tool is freely accessible on the coating side, which is indicated by the movement arrow 8 . In this movement space, a movable spray 6 for pneumatic powder application is attached, which is connected to a voltage source 7 for electrostatic charging of the powder to be coated. Such electrostatic and pneumatically effective powder spray devices are known, so that it need not be discussed in more detail here.
To produce one of the shape of the mold 1 corresponding to the plastic skin, the mold is first heated by means of the radiation rods 3 from the rear until it has reached a temperature above the melting temperature of the plastic powder, for example 230 ° C. This tempera ture is achieved very quickly thanks to the low heat storage capacity of the molding tool, so that spraying on of the powder can begin very soon. Thanks to the electrostatic charging of the powder and thanks to the pneumatic direction of the powder through the spray element, the mold 1 can be coated very specifically and evenly with plastic powder, which melts on the surface of the mold and forms a skin. At any thin spots within the skin, the powder is preferentially attracted due to the opposite polar electrostatic charge between the powder and the mold, so that the thin spot also closes. Even without melting, a certain layer of plastic powder remains on the coating side of the mold.
If a sufficiently thick plastic skin or powder layer is applied in this way, heat can also be applied to the sprayed-on powder from the application side in order to accelerate the melting of the powder and accelerate skin formation from the spray-on side as well. This is indicated in Fig. 2 by the radiation rods 10 and the radiation screen 9 . Instead of radiant heat, at least in an advanced process of the melting process, the supply of melting heat can also be carried out by hot air which, for example, could be passed between the radiation rods.
Then when the powder is completely melted into a skin, the outside radiation rods 10 can be removed and the inside radiation rods 3 can be switched off. The skin formed can now be cooled as quickly as possible, which is indicated in FIG. 3 by the movable shower head 11 , with which cooling water can be sprayed onto the skin formed. It is also conceivable to pass cooling air through the shielding box 2 and thus to cool the mold 1 also from the rear in a forced convective manner.
As soon as the mold 1 and the plastic skin 12 formed are sufficiently deep, for example cooled to 30 to 40 ° C., the plastic skin has sufficient stability so that it can be removed from the mold, which is indicated in FIG. 4.
