Description
Impregnation and preservation agents for rocks, fibers, Wood and other types of cellulose. Processes have become known in technology which use naphthenic acids to impregnate and preserve wood. But all these procedures have the disadvantage that they cause evil, disgusting, everything penetrating smell of naphthenic acids on the treated goods such as clothing, Wickerwork, etc. transferred, which is why this method is only of limited use could find. It also clogs the naphthenic acid, depending on the composition and has a different penetrating power according to its origin, as a result of the tarry substances, which are always attached to naphthenic acid, especially in the case of hard ones Wood and dense tissue, the pores and thus prevents deep penetration.
The surprising observation has now been made that the special Properties which are inherent in the naphthenic acid distillation products, these in an excellent way to enable rocks, wood, tissue and other types of cellulose to impregnate and preserve. Depending on the origin of the crude naphthenic acid distillation products are obtained by distillation under normal or reduced pressure of a clear, light yellow color, which partly show acidic reaction and thereby are marked that they can be more or less saponified. they show Differences in specific weight and other physical properties, such as B. in penetration, drying, etc. The disgusting smell of naphthenic acid is not peculiar to the distillation products and therefore makes them for the proposed one Purpose particularly suitable and generally applicable in practice. In the temperatures between 170 and 25 ° and between 28 ° and 30 ° are usually the case with crude oils the main amounts over. With the right choice of distillation products, the different types of wood, depending on whether it is soft or hard, fine or coarse-grained Wood and different densities of tissue are present, treat them properly, as the distillation products different in terms of penetration and distribution for the types of wood and fibers behavior. This method can also be used advantageously as a preservation protection Use on damp walls to prevent the rock from decaying. the Distillation products are quickly absorbed; penetrate deeply, and the oneself Formative naphthenates have not only preservative properties but also recognized good ones water-repellent effect and possess the advantage that further protective coatings does not crumble and well, adhere. Also for the pretreatment of z. B. @sand cement facades, This method of working is advantageous on which the paints are known to hold badly.
Furthermore, it has been shown that these naphthenic acid distillation products Appropriate preservatives such as Carbolineum, phenolic resins, heavy metal compounds, etc. can be added. It goes without saying that simultaneous coloring with the help of coloring agents, oil- and liposoluble dyes.
This new process has been used in the wood and textile industries, in the construction industry and wherever it is a question of impregnating fabrics and preventing them from rotting and to protect decomposition, a great technical importance.
Beispiel i.Example i.
Man durchtränkt Gesteine, Faserstoffe, Holz mit Naphthensäuredestillationsprodukten. Beispiel a.Rocks, fibers and wood are soaked with naphthenic acid distillation products. Example a.
In ioö 1 from a naphthenic acid distillation product containing 10 kg of original, crude naphthenic acid and 0.1 to 1 kg of carbolineum become cellulose fabric made of paper, cotton, etc. inserted. The material is then wrung out or lightly flushed. In order to achieve a simultaneous coloration, these distillation products are given depending on the desired depth of color, oil- and fat-soluble dyes are added.
