Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a Plastic body by extrusion of a heat shrinkable Plastic layer, tensile in the plastic body Elements to be embedded.
For the manufacture of such items, it is becoming more common as the tensile elements of corresponding supply spools withdrawn and passed through an extruder head, where the tensile elements from the soft thermoplastic material be surrounded and embedded in it. Because of this position process is a particularly intimate connection between the tensile elements on one side and the extruded, later cross-linked and under the influence of heat shrinking material usually does not come in or out sufficient achievable. Of course, this also affects for example on the strength properties of such manufactured bodies.
From US 3,485,912 it is known a tensile material by coextrusion of thread-like, tensile elements on the one hand and a surrounding plastic layer on the other perform. The plastic material is cross-linked not provided and there will be no heat shrinkable plastic sheets or tubes.
In DE-OS 15 29 874 a method and an apparatus for Manufacture of composite plastic body described. It becomes from a first web of a thermoplastic art fabric and a second web of a thermoplastic Plastic made a composite sheet that in a desired shape is brought and down to a temperature is cooled, in which the plastic of the first web oriented.
This consists of a tape made of a cross-linked polymer. On a Beschich the tape is another layer of a thermo laminated plastic polymer. To increase the tear strength is between those layers Tissue.
The invention is based, reinforced art fabric body of the type mentioned in a simple manner make that a particularly strong and resistant Product is received.
According to the invention, this is at ei achieved by the method of the type mentioned at the outset, that the tensile elements at the same time as for the recording of these elements serving plastic layer in one work be extruded and that for the plastic layer and polymer materials are used for the tensile elements those who are firmly together after the extrusion are connected.
It is achieved by the invention that the manufacturing process as such is very simple because both the material for the Plastic layer as well as the material for the tensile el elements in one work step, i.e. produced by coextrusion are so that at the exit of the extruder head the Ge velvet product is present. When used in particular the same tiger or similar polymer materials results dere advantage that an intimate connection of mechanical type between the tensile elements on the one hand and the plastic layer, on the other hand, occurs. This is still affected that the two materials melt together with one another Come into contact and thereby a without additional measures firm mechanical connection between the two plastic materials alien is made. So is the external appearance of the received product very evenly, which by the similar kity or relationship of the two used and together of the connected materials is additionally supported.
The invention further relates to the use of an art body, which by a method according to the invention is produced and which is characterized in that it in the cross-linked and stretched state as a flat film web or is designed as a tube or hose. Such structures can preferably be used as a protective cover for an object become.
Such an object can preferably be configured as a cable sleeve det, so for the wrapping of, for example, splice or Joints of electrical and / or optical cables be set. Another preferred area of application such a plastic body provides an electrical and / or optical cable, in which the plastic body is applied as a protective cover or outer jacket.
In all of these applications, in addition to a uniform high tensile and tear strength due to the surface properties speed of particular advantage, as ge by the invention is guaranteed.
Other developments of the invention are in the subclaims reproduced.

In Fig. 1, an extruder head EK is drawn in a highly schematic representation in cross section, which has two feed openings for different materials MA1 and MA2. While the material MA1 pours into an annular gap FK1 opening on the right end face of the extruder head EK, the material MA2 is introduced into a series of nozzle-shaped individual openings FK21 to FK2n distributed over the circumference of the annular gap FK1, which are shown completely in FIG. 2 . These nozzle-shaped openings FK21 to FK2n can have any cross sections; in the present example it is about circular nozzle openings of the same design. However, it is also possible to provide rectangular, square, star-shaped or other cross-sectional shapes, in particular those with a large surface area, as nozzle openings.
The arrangement shown is used to produce a tubular plastic body KP1, the cross section of which is shown in FIG. 3. This tubular body KP1 consists of a plastic layer KS1, which is formed by the material MA1 and n embedded therein and tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n enclosed on all sides by this plastic layer KS1, which are formed from the material MA2 and are produced by the nozzles FK2 . The plastic body KP1 thus produced in the coextrusion process represents a high-tensile United bundle arrangement, the tensile strength in the longitudinal direction of the body or tube KP1 being mainly or at least to a large extent brought about by the incorporated tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n.
The body KP1 represents the starting material for a subsequent expansion process, in which the preferably networked plastic layer KS1 is mechanically expanded, as shown in the cross-sectional illustration in FIG. 4. In this widening process, the diameter of the inner opening OP of the tubular body KP1 according to FIG. 3 is increased accordingly to the value OP '( FIG. 4), which can be achieved in a simple manner in that, for example, in the immediate connection to the Extrusion process through the hole BO of the extruder head EK is pressed into the interior of the tube thus extruded, air with excess pressure. The expansion corresponding to FIG. 4 takes place so that the stretching of the plastic layer KS1 takes place in a direction which is transverse to the longitudinal direction of the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n. As a result, these tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n are changed in their mutual distance ver, but not stretched in their longitudinal direction. In so on expanded state of Fig. 4, the shaping eingefro ren ( "shape memory"), which is accessible by a corresponding cooling of the heated, expanded plastic body is KP1. In use, the plastic body KP1 according to FIG. 3 is heated and shrinks back into a shape which in the final state can reach the thickened shape according to FIG. 3, depending on the object, for example, inside the opening OP of the tubular body KP is arranged. In this shrinking process and any subsequent stresses, the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n ensure that this body can be subjected to great tensile forces in the longitudinal direction without causing it to overstretch or, for example, flow, undesirable deformation or the like Body KP1 or its plastic layer KS1 can come.

The expansion and shrinkage properties are determined by a ver Wetting of the polymers or polymer mixtures achieved. The Ver Wetting is preferably done by irradiation with high energy Beams, for example, electron beams in one of the extrudes sion downstream process achieved. This radiation networking can be known by so-called crosslinking amplifiers such for example triallyl cyanurate (TAC), trimethylolpropane trime thacrylate (TRIM) or ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) under be supported.
The known techniques of ra physical (peroxidic) crosslinking by supplying heat rend or after the extrusion process and the so-called Si Lan crosslinking - silane grafting before or during extrusion sion, cross-linking through moisture storage of the extrusion - on.
There are different results for the materials MA1 and MA2 material combinations, which are described in more detail below be.
In one embodiment of the invention, the material is MA2 through stronger networking compared to the material MA1 designed tensile. The stronger networking of the ZE11 elements to ZE1n prevents any noteworthy during the expansion process Elongation in the longitudinal direction and a disturbing contraction in the longitudinal direction during the later shrinking process. The expansion and shrinking takes place only transversely to the longitudinal direction of the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n.
In the described embodiment, all of MA1 listed materials can also be used for MA2. Materials can also be used as MA1 without restriction and MA2 can be combined. Advantageous for the material comm binations is that preferred to be carried out together Networking in one of the mentioned networking processes the material MA2 is significantly more networked. This can be done achieve through the polymer type (HDPE cross-linked better than LDPE), due to the higher molecular weight and the addition or higher addition of crosslinking amplifiers. But also that Addition of so-called anti-wheels to the plastic layer KS1 can to achieve a different degree of networking beitra gene.
The thermoplastics mentioned can be used as such, as well as blends from two or more of the examples mentioned, who used the.
To achieve application-specific properties, white tere polymers (plastics, elastomers) in these Thermopla be included. For example, elastomers increase adhesion strength.
Beim Aufweit- und beim Rückschrumpfvorgang bilden die zug festen Elemente ZE11 bis ZE1n nach Fig. 4 eine stützen de Einlage, welche sowohl vorteilhaft die Formbeständigkeit des Körpers KP1 beim Aufweit- und beim Rückschrumpfvorgang sicherstellt als auch in diesem Zustand zum Beispiel beim Auftreffen des Körpers KP1 auf entsprechende Stoßstellen, Kanten oder sonstige Unregelmäßigkeiten eines eingeschlosse nen Gegenstandes eine ausreichende Zugfestigkeit gewährlei stet, die ein Zerreißen oder Durchspießen des Körpers KP1 verhindert und gewährleistet, daß die Wandstärke des Körpers KP1 auch im Bereich obengenannter Kanten die quer zur Schrumpfrichtung verlaufen, nicht erheblich reduziert wird.4, the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n according to FIG. 4 form a supporting insert which advantageously ensures the dimensional stability of the body KP1 during the expanding and shrinking process, and also in this state, for example when the body KP1 strikes on corresponding joints, edges or other irregularities of an enclosed object, a sufficient tensile strength is guaranteed which prevents tearing or spitting of the body KP1 and ensures that the wall thickness of the body KP1 does not significantly reduce, even in the area of the aforementioned edges which run transversely to the direction of shrinkage becomes.
schmelzpunkt aufweist. In another embodiment, the material combinations are chosen so that the material MA2 provides a significantly higher resistance to deformation in the limited temperature range of the expansion and shrinkage process. This is for example with material combinations MA1 / MA2 such as
LDPE / HDPE,
EVA, EEA copolymers / all polyethylenes
EPR / all polkyethylenes
all polyethylenes / PP
given because the MA2 material has the higher crystallite melting point.
In this second embodiment, the material MA2 does not have to inevitably be more connected. On the contrary, it can with sufficient distance between the crystallite melting points (≧ 50 ° C) MA2 remain unconnected. Suitable materials in combination with the previously mentioned materials MA1 are then exemplary such as polyamides, polyesters, polyurethanes. Note for the The combination of materials to be used is a fixed connection or adhesion of the tensile elements to the plastic layer KS1. Liability can be supplemented if necessary Strengthen measures by adding well-adhering additives or Polymers to the plastic layer MA1, for example the be knew graft polymer Polybond polar ethylene co- and terpoly mere, by adding crosslinking amplifiers which are used in the Cross-linking of the plastic layer KS1 at the interface too create bonds with the polymer of the tensile elements, by using polymer blends based on polyamide, poly esters etc. as tensile elements, as a blend component Polymers contain a firm bond with the material the plastic layer KS1 during joint extrusion ben.
But it is also possible to add aggregates to the material Provide MA2 for the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n, which this at the softening temperature of the plastic materials MA1 of the plastic layer KS1 are still sufficient de gives rigidity or tensile strength. As such Additives can preferably be fibrous fillers (for short glass fibers) or reinforcing fillers such as carbon black, Silica or talc can be used. This can do that Material MA2 for the tensile elements a much higher Have heat resistance than the material for the Plastic layer KS1.
The tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n can also advantageously are made of a plastic alloy to achieve the desired different thermal expansion resistances for shrinkage ensure temperature.
It can also be advantageous to use the tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n a longitudinal orientation during extrusion gene and thereby increased tensile strength in the longitudinal direction to ensure.
This longitudinal orientation is simple and special if it is particularly high molecular material MA2, for example HDPE due to tight spacing extrusion dies is extruded.
The tensile strength can preferably be used for such an application Elements ZE11 to ZE1n made of a Liquid Cristal Polymer (LCP) exist, which has the advantage that extremely large orientation conditions and thus also extremely high strengths in the longitudinal direction can be achieved.
With a material MA2 made of LCP, a very small one is enough Cross-sectional proportion (1-10% depending on the requirement) to one to achieve sufficient stabilization. Since at LCP the Ankopp the material MA1 is generally problematic, the power transmission between MA2 and MA1 is wholly or partly caused by friction.
Das Verhältnis Oberfläche zu Volumen beträgt in diesem Fall vorteilhaft 20 : 1 bis 200 : 1.In this case, very many very thin LCP- Elements distributed in material MA1 (across the entire cross cut). The surface to volume ratio is in in this case advantageously 20: 1 to 200: 1.
In Fig. 5 a further embodiment of the invention, produced according to a plastic body KP2 is shown, the approximately rectangular cross section and for example represents a two-dimensional web, for example, a sheet or the like. The production takes place with an extruder head similar to FIG. 1, whereby instead of an annular nozzle for the material MA1, a rectangular nozzle opening (analogous to FK1 in FIG. 2) with the height B1 and a corresponding width is provided, in which - approximately in the middle - which are provided with a rectangular cross section (analogous to FK21-FK2n in FIG. 2) for the formation of the tensile elements ZE21 to ZE2n. As in the previous exemplary embodiment, the proportion of material M1, that is to say the proportion of material in the plastic layer KS2, is also substantially greater than the proportion of material in the tensile elements ZE21 to ZE2n. The tensile elements ZE11 to ZE1n should expediently only fill in between about 5% and 20% of the cross-sectional area of the plastic body KP2. The use of flat, ie band-shaped structures for the tensile elements ZE21 to ZE2n has the advantage that they apply as little as possible based on the plastic layer KS2 containing them.
When expanding the elongated body in the transverse direction prevent the flat lying, rigid strips in the area of their storage the material stretching of the KS2 material. This can be a targeted partial cross ver extension can be realized.
The tensile forces for the stretching process act on the right and left ends of the plastic body KP2 according to FIG. 5 and give it the flatter shape shown in FIG. 6, in which a web-like or film-like body shrinkable when heat is applied.
The tensile elements ZE21 to ZE2n are introduced with a wall thickness b such that this lies between 5% and 25% of the thickness B1 of the entire still unstretched plastic body KP2 according to FIG. 5.
The tensile elements ZE21 to ZE2n are expediently so thick and chosen their material properties so stiff that it during the shrinking process of compressing or shortening the Plastic layer KS2 in the longitudinal direction of the tensile Ele counteract elements.
In the plastic body KP3 according to FIG. 7, which is formed analogously to FIG. 5, a series of strain relief elements ZE31 to ZE3n are arranged in the plastic body KS1 in the not yet stretched state, which likewise have a ribbon-shaped structure but extend obliquely to the outer surface of the plastic body B3. In the stretched state as shown in FIG. 8, these tension elements ZE31 to ZE3n are further apart and lie at an acute angle with respect to the outer surface of the body KP3 in the plastic layer KS3 than in the unstretched arrangement according to FIG. 7 Such an oblique arrangement of the tensile elements ZE31 to ZE3n has the advantage that firstly the plastic body becomes more dimensionally stable than in the case of newly embedded profiles and secondly that more reinforcement profiles can be embedded. In addition, the stretchable zones between the reinforcement profiles are larger.
In Fig. 9, in cross section, a further plastic body KP4 is shown in which the tension-proof elements are arranged to ZE41 ZE4n at different distances from the outer walls. In the present case, an approximately wavy arrangement of the tensile elements is provided. However, other sawtooth-shaped arrangements of the tensile elements can also be used. The different distances of the tensile elements from the outer surfaces of the body KP4 has the advantage that the distances between the adjacent reinforcing elements in the stretching direction can be greater than when arranged in one plane.
An optical cable is shown in cross section in FIG. 10, the cable core CS of which has a series of optical waveguide wires LA1 to LAn. These optical fiber cores each contain one or more optical fibers LW1 to LWn in a tubular protective sheath and in the present example are stranded on a central, tensile element CE. In order to provide a tensile sheathing in the outer area, the body KP5 is brought up as an outer sheath on the cable core CS, so that an optical cable OC is formed which has particularly high tensile properties. For this purpose, tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n are arranged in the plastic body KP5, which consists of shrinkable plastic material KS5 and serves as the outer jacket, as in the preceding examples, and in fact on different pitch circles. In the present example, a continuous, that is to say continuous (or wave-shaped) distribution of the tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n is selected. Since the tensile stresses, especially in the case of bending stresses in the outdoor area, are particularly high, the dimensioning of the tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n is appropriately chosen differently. The inner elements, for example ZE5n, ZE51, have a smaller cross-section than the outer elements, for example ZE52 and ZE53. In the inter mediate range, continuous or step-shaped transitions of the cross section can be provided. The tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n, which are distributed over several pitch circles, are expediently positioned in a gap to one another.
The outer sheath in the form of the tubular body KP5 is extruded onto the finished cable core CS and the tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n are also introduced. This tech technology is particularly suitable for short electrical or optical cable pieces, the cable core CS being inserted into the (expanded te) tube KP5 and then heating it by shrinking it back into the state shown in FIG. 10.
Instead of a different diameter or differently large cross-sections for the tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n, different materials can also be used. For example, materials with particularly high tensile strength (for example LPC) can be used on the outside (for ZE52 and ZE53) and materials with lower tensile strength further in (for ZE5n, ZE51). In this case, the cross sections of the various tensile elements ZE51 to ZE5n can advantageously be chosen the same. In the area of an extruder head EK according to FIG. 1, the supply of two different materials is to be provided for producing such a composite structure, the one material (for example for ZE51), for example, emerging in a more external row of nozzles, while the other material (for example for ZE5n) is pressed out of a number of more internal nozzles.
FIG. 11 shows how a tubular plastic body KP6 manufactured in accordance with the invention (the structure of which can be selected in cross-section corresponding to KP1 in FIG. 3 or KP5 in FIG. 10) for connecting (as a sleeve) two preferably a thickening between them including parts KA1 and KA2 is used. KA1 and KA2 can preferably be an electrical or optical cable and the thickness corresponds to the splice point of the conductors. The tensile elements ZE61-ZE61 are indicated by dashed lines and give the socket a high level of strength, which is particularly helpful with the non-smooth contour.
In Fig. 12 in the unstretched and in Fig. 13 in the stretched state, a plastic body KP7 is shown, in which tensile elements ZEK1-ZEKn are embedded in the plastic material KS7, which have an approximately cruciform cross-section with legs crossing at right angles. The legs of these cross-shaped elements ZEK1-ZEKn are so resilient (for example, by correspondingly small wall thickness ke) that in the stretched state according to FIG. 13 their lateral extent (transverse to the direction of stretching) is reduced.
In addition to the cross-sectional shapes of the tensile elements shown in FIGS. 5 to 9 as well as 12 and 13, others can also be selected (for example star-shaped, L-shaped, etc.), preference being given to those shapes which are enlarged or structured (ie not give it a smooth surface because it ensures that adhesion in the plastic material is particularly good.
