Es hat sich überraschenderweise herausgestellt, daß Schlacken aller Art, wie beispielsweise Hochofenschlacken, sich außer zur Herstellung von Zement in hervorragender Weise auch zur Herstellung von Steinen für Bauzwecke o. dgl. eignen, falls der trockenen, mehr oder weniger fein gemahlenen und auch ungetrockneten Schlacke ungebrannter Gips, wie er in der Natur vorkommt, oder als wasserhaltiger oder wasserfreier Gips (Anhydrit) zugesetzt wird. Der Mischung wird für das leichtere Pressen der Steine Wasser zugegeben.
